  1. No more guilt! It is unrealistic to think we will not have those kind of days. For the most part it is best to stay away from empty calories. BUT, that being said we are human and do indulge from time to time. One kiss will not kill you..... Is that permission to eat the other 8 to reach the 200 calorie mark No Way. But, do not beat yourself over this. Just turn the page and take life day by day! You got this!
  2. I usually drink two premier protein shakes a day. Each shake is 30 oz of protein. Each shake is 11 oz of liquid. So the two shakes total 22 oz of fluid. I drink 32 oz of flavored water. For some reason I have had a hard time with just plain water since the surgery. It does not take much more liquid to reach the goal of 64 oz per day. This system has worked for me since leaving the hospital. Hope this helps!
  3. Sugar free Popsicles are good, I had strained cream of chicken soup (low fat) and that was very good! This was when I got home from the hospital. In the hospital all I had was liquids.... A lot of diet snapple & water....
  4. I buy them at Costco.....
  5. Congratulations on your success! Awesome job!
  6. You might..... It is always nicer when it's close to home! Hope that works out for you!
  7. Best Wishes to you both.....
  8. There was no way my Dr. Would have allowed me to drive home. I didn't drive right away....
  9. Honestly It seems when folks have more to lose. Meaning over 150 lbs they do tend to lose faster in the beginning. As opposed to a person the has 99 lbs to lose. I am not sure why that is but it is. When I had surgery I had to lose 163lbs. I am a little over 6 months out and have lost 108#. But, I have hit a stall now for 2 weeks..... BUT let me make this clear.... I am not worried or stressed about the stall. They come.... And our body does its thing.... Makes it adjustments and the stall breaks! In answer to your question can it be done?? Yes, it can..... What is important is that our focus is to only on the numbers on the scale..... Because stalls will come.... And if you are only paying attention to the scale that could really send you into a tail spin! Enough said! Best wishes to you!
  10. OMG.... Too funny.... Lmao!
  11. Hi ... Congratulations! Yes, I struggled as well. They most likely will not let you go home until they see you drink as certain amount per hour. My surgeon came in and counted the empty cups. So, with that being said .... Do the best you can and sip, sip sip!..... Best wishes for a quick recovery!
  12. You know what.... I had the same experience and never thought of it until I read your post.... It's been 6 1/2 months lmao....

  18. Congrats.... I love your sense of humor! For the bad breath, I sucked on some tic tac's did the trick for me..... I could hardly stand the smell of my own breath...oh how I remember those days lol!
  19. Yeah for you! Yes it will take about a month or so to feel your strength recharged. Everyone is different.... Just take one day at a time. I use gas x strips for the gas and it has helped me tons! Best wishes
  20. Just a paper gown..... Forget about the under garments....
  21. Hi.... When I started I was 358 # I am 5'6" as well. My goal is 195 # set by my primary Dr. Mostly because of bone structure and muscle mass. Anyhow, when reaching my goal my total weight loss will be 163 lbs. Our goals are pretty much the same. I will be 50 in August. When I first started and would think of the amount I needed to lose I would get overwhelmed also. So I broke it down to 20 # increments. That worked and took the pressure off. At 6 months I have lost over 100#. Honestly, yes I have hanging skin everywhere... My arms, legs, bottom and tummy. But trust me by the time you get the weight off you feel so much better the extra skin is a small price to pay. Have you ever considered donating the extra skin to burn victims? Are there any Dr.'S / hospitals in your area that will cover the costs for that type of donation? I know years ago a friend who did this..... I haven't a clue if this is still being done.... Something to research anyhow! Just think this time next year where you will be..... For me I just take it one day at a time..... I wish you all the best! Tina
  22. I know some on this site might disagree with this.... But, I would add a protien bar. Most are around 160 calories. I only have pure protien... Because they are low on sugar and carbs. And high protien 20 grams. Some folks feel that they are too close to candy bars in taste and that will create the want for the real deal. For me that has never been a issue. I can have a protien bar and it replaces the sweets i used to want. Everyone is diiferent.... Best wishes!
