Help. I cheated
This will more than likely not have an effect on your surgery but you need to get a grip, like... NOW. The last few days before surgery are very important to do as you are told for your own safety.

Just ate a Wendy's cheeseburger!
i've had half of one. Don't make it a habit.

Any regrets?
There have been a lot of regret posts lately, use the search bar and have at it.

I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
Ah, more proof that the good old "I bet you didn't pay for this surgery yourself" argument is bull. Look, this happens, it will happen in the future too, you need to get a grip on yourself though. This WILL NOT be the last time you make a bad choice, but you need to get real about it. If you consistently make bad choices, you cheat yourself. The thing is, what matters more are the day to day choices, not the every once in a while cheats. I cheat almost once a week, but what I do consistently is more or less the right thing. I don't carry my guidelines around in my bag or anything but I do count my calories and watch the carbs/protein ratio and I suggest you do the same.

I am now a master farter!
lmao, this is a five star topic. Ironically, I seem to fart a lot less now, but I burp more.

Really need advice..
This might be somewhat unpopular but just know that I am saying this as someone who was in your shoes (I had the lapband before I had the sleeve) You might want to hold off on weight loss surgery. Just weight 6 months or so, because it sounds like your not ready. Of course, this is just my impression based off only the little bit of information you provided but let me tell you something. You will have success with weight loss surgery when you want it as bad as you want to breath. When you want it so bad that whether or not you 'want' some soda is totally irrelevant because you are on a mission, THEN you are ready.

side-eyeing my scale today... 18lbs in one week?
meh, for someone 400+ pounds it's possible.

Registered Nurses?
Prepare yourself. When its all over you will feel like you've been through war, but you will make it. Get ready though. It's harder psychologically and sometimes physically than it is academically. No one cares about your tears, no one cares about your divorces, deaths in the family, or ANYTHING about you. It's cut throat. Show up every day, do the assigned reading and study and you will make it but you have to SHOW UP.

My wife is pissed!
Came here to say this. Give her one or two of them, make her keep them with her clothes and they are hers now, not yours, so don't even think about putting them back on lol.

F*cking up!
I allow coffee in my regular diet but I do account for anything with calories I put into it. If I drink 200 calories worth of creamer thats 200 calories I don't eat. Be careful with that, because coffee additions alone can be enough to halt weight loss if you are not paying attention. Three weeks isn't a crazy long period of time, so you should be able to get back in the saddle without too much upheaval. Hell, right after surgery I had a three week-long stall. We were sleeved about the same time. You'll get there, just put a stop to this before it goes too far.

Bizarre trend?
I think that a lot of times, dispite the hoops most of us have to jump through to get weight loss surgery, its not a well thought out decision. I see people here every day who I would not clear for surgery if I were in charge of their psych evals. BUT, you can't blame the facility because people lie. They put on a different face while they are in the office, so who knows.

help! wedding! alcohol!
I would suggest you consider skipping alcohol all together or get something like a vodka and cran with lime.

Is it really that impossible?
How much weight a patient loses is largely up to the patient. There is an average, meaning, what is typical but you can certainly go above that, or not even reach that average. It just depends how you do.

Anyone wish they had gastric bypass instead of sleeve?
meh, this is a "six of one, half a dozen of the other" type of situation for me. You probably will lose more weight with an RNY, but you are also probably more likely to experience any number of complications at a greater rate as well.

Please be honest...
oh hell yes.

When did you dye your hair postop?
Honestly if you are doing some kind of box dye its probably going to matter VERY LITTLE. Just do not bleach it at this point. You are probably losing enough hair without doing that too it as well.

Scolded by an internist.
consider making a formal complaint. It's one thing for a doctor to express their concern that maybe you are not following all the rules, but its a whole other thing to be abusive.

Husband rant -- am I asking too much?
I have zero patients for that type of attitude. First of all, if he had a problem with where you all had dinner the adult thing to do is say something along the lines of "You know what, that sounds really unappealing to me, can we talk about some other choices" Also, this is just a personal hang up but I cannot STAND a person who apparently thinks they are better than the service people they come into contact with. I was a cashier for years while I was in school and its a hard job and you will never please everyone.

Did you have a catheter ?
most people have one after they are knocked out. I almost felt like I should have had one in place at least for a while the next day because I had a lot of urinary retention from the drugs.

How did you not lose you jobs?
you are going to have to keep HR in the loop, not that you need to tell them your surgery but you need to be realistic with them about how long you are going to be out of the office and whatnot. Also, if you can schedule for the summer or something that would be ideal. There is no reason to strain your work relationships.

For the first time I am not obsessed with running to buy half-off easter candy and hiding it from my husband
This is kind of shameful but last easter I ate SO MANY of those little cadbury eggs that they still don't sound appealing, a whole year later.

For the first time I am not obsessed with running to buy half-off easter candy and hiding it from my husband
Oh man, there has been a change in me. For the first time since I have been old enough to drive and have my own money I am not obsessed with running to buy clearanced easter candy. This week I was able to eat pretty intuitively (not obsessing over limits) and still lose three pounds. This is more than I could have ever wished for.

Throwing the scale out the window!
Yep its a bunch if BS but it passes. The first month was bad for me.
-
I don't wanna talk about it.
I didn't talk much at all in the days leading up to my surgery. I was withdrawn, I'm not sure that it mattered. I was getting my mind right.

Kansas?
It's the Overland Park, Leawood, Olathe, Lenexa area.
