Well my surgery date is the 14th of may. When I did the band there was 6 months of crap to deal with with my Insurence. ,,, sooooo I was beyond ready. But since in paying for it out if my pocket I walked in today and said how far back is scheduling ? They said the 14th and I said sign me up. Now I just hope I don't back out of it. I'm really ready to get rid of this band ,,, and actually have a good shot at losing weight and keeping it off.

Have y'all tried these? I get them at Kroger Marketplace. They make them fresh in the Deli. Kim's Magic Pop is available in plain, onion, strawberry, cinnamon. I eat them with spreadable cheeses like laughing cow or Peanut Butter when I need a little crunch. Way better than rice cakes cause they are made from wheat & brown rice. 15 calories, 25 sodium & only 3 carbs!!

I found in the beginning warm liquids went down easier. I'm 4 months out and still takes longer to get cold liquids down. For some reason warm is easy

abridgie reacted to Chris R in Did anyone need to lose 200+ lbs?
I was 450 when I started the program, lost 60 lbs in 9 months pre-op, and have lost 38 more in 9 weeks post-op. I feel confident that I will be able to reach my goal of 150, a 300 lb total loss. The sleeve is a great tool, you just have to follow the directions!

I'm 4 months post op and I too looked forward to most things on your list. I'm proud to say last month we went to Disneyland and I rode every ride! Now I'm looking forward to a family portrait. Haven't done one since kids were little but I'm waiting until I reach goal for that. Water park ill go this summer. I won't feel all that comfortable but it's a step. My one biggest goal is I want VS panty & Bra set. Just one to say I fit! Lol

I always enjoy before and afters. Here are mine!
I lost 200 lbs in about 11 months. I started in 24's and 3/4 X shirts. My BMI was 53 and is now 22. I now wear 2/4 pants and med/large shirts. I am 5'7. I had an apple shape before and now I am still an apple...just smaller! So jealous of the hour glass folks.
I ate about 600 calories a day/ less than 20 carbs/more than 64 oz fluid/more than 60 Protein. I truly believe, for me anyhow, the key is low carbs. I weigh, track, log every bite of food on MFP (hollirrose). I had a handful of times that I ate off plan but never for more than a meal or day.
I don't work out that often. I walk some but not consistently. Overall I am more active.
I get the most private messages about skin. I have it. My arms are awful, my upper thighs sag, my tummy will never be flat. For the most part..I think I look normal in clothes. It all tucks in pretty nicley and if I wear shapewear..I almost look skinny. Naked, I look a little like an emancipated shar pie!

For the people who don't know me my name is Corey. I started my preop diet in October of 2012 at 475lbs. I was sleeved on 1/28/13, on that day I weighed in at 450lbs. As of today I am at 382lbs, and I can already feel a major difference in things I can do now that I couldn't before. I couldn't walk for more then ten minutes at a time before the surgery, now I go for an hour plus walk almost everyday! I think the hardest part for me so far has been reinventing my relationship with food..... food use to be my goto for everything. I got depressed, I ate. If I was bored, I ate. If I was happy or celebrating something, I ate. Now I find constructive stuff to do when or if I need to. I started drawing, and I am thinking about buying a tattoo gun and some practice skin next. Me and my son go outside and play (it's nice not being so tired all the time!) and I am looking forward to being able to goto amusement parks this summer and being able to fit on rides!! My weight loss journey is far from over, my goal weight is 200-220lbs and I know that thanks to this surgery as long as I stay committed I will make it. I also wanted to take a minute to say thank you to the people on this site as well, without the support you guys have given me during my rough times in the beginning I don't think I would be doing as well as I am now! Thank you!!

Did you really say Boston cream donut!!!! Lol I'm 4 months out. I have not cheated because why would I cheat myself. I do occasionally have whole wheat with added Fiber with an egg white (1/2 piece 25 cal) but not daily I don't want the carbs. Some people honestly should have never had the surgery. It's not a quick fix. I will admit I sometime crave really really bad chocolate but I fight it because I'm fighting for my life

Very normal. There are lots of threads on dry skin. Make sure you are getting in your Water. And Palmers cocoa butter was recommended to me on here and it has been a godsend! I love it! It smells good and leaves your skin so soft!

Worst pain including surgery was removal of the drainage tube. That sucker hurt. I was in 3 days 2 nights. 2nd day I wanted to wash private areas and my CNA wanted to give me a bed bath (former tech here) I refused. I made my husband give me a shower

She is similar to C. Harris. I'm re-reading the Hollows books right now. The main character is Rachel, an FIB agent (not FBI) who is also a witch and she's a clutz! Like she will make a sleepy time potion and then knock herself out with it lol. She ends up leaving the FIB and becoming a bounty hunter for the supernatural which all lives openly in the general population. She ends up livinging in an old church and her partners are a vamp and a family of fairies that live in her garden. If you like Harris and Hamilton you will like these too

Wow my appointment was at 8:30 today. Courtney was supposed to email me paperwork yesterday to fill out and bring with me. She forgot. So I got the paperwork when I got there, AND had to call my husband to come there because he was supposed to go with me and I didn't know. So I had to wait on him to get there before Dr. Baker would come in and talk to me.
The consult with Dr. Baker went well. Courtney set me up to do my SPA today too. So I went to Baptist at 11:30 and left there at 1:30. It was an all day ordeal, BUT I am approved and I am excited!!

Baptist is a great hospital they treat Drs Bakers patient very good!!! The biggest thing Dr.Baker won't let you leave until you have a bowl movement. Yikes!!! I know I was ready to go but everything was well worth it. I recommend to just walk walk walk its doesn't matter whatever hrs they just want you up and at it. It really relieves the pain and gas.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but some of the response to the OP's post sound like they think SHE is the one making these crazy comments about when she can get back to pre-sleeve eating life.
No! She's all bent out of shape because OTHERS are posting those crazy things!
I agree with her wholeheartedly. Anyone making those posts either did not do the pre-op research and psychological prep, or are doomed to failure because they think this surgery is the quick fix and they don't have to do any work on their own habits, lifestyle and mindset.
I'm so glad the majority of members of this forum are more educated, Enlightened and motivated to improve their OWN lives, using the sleeve as their tool to achieve their goals!
