  1. I was given Helprin before surgery and injected the 3 days I was in the hospital so I'm sure with your history they will take the precaution as well. Don't worry you'll do great!!
  2. I will say it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. The gas pressure in my chest was the worst part and after the drainage tube was removed the pain was pretty much gone! Good luck and focus less on the pain and more on what your doing to make a positive change in your life!
  3. Mine said 4 weeks and 6 weeks before acrobatics but said as long as we were mindful in incisions sooner would be fine
  4. I've been over 300 lbs for around 3 yrs. Today i weighed at my doctors appoint ( i only weigh at doctors office because i don't own a scale. i will not be a slave to the scale) I was hoping for a decent number since i weighed on Feb 5th. I was shocked to see 10lbs gone. With that it put me at 294. i'm super happy with my progress. This isn't easy for sure but it is so worth it! I'm getting my life back
  5. That's ok I'm emotional now. Like crying over anything. Happy, sad, bored yup I cry. Lol hopefully that passes
  6. Ok personally been dealing with this since surgery so my doc said to drink miralax for a few weeks to try to get back on track and drink more fluids that dehydration can cause this

I'm on regular diet but can only eat about 1/2 cup never more usually less. I'm the type of person that can eat the same thing for days then not touch it again for months. I'm just trying to get all my protein in. I haven't had fruit yet maybe ill try that. I would love a salad but I'm too worried to try raw at the moment

I'm getting bored with my foods. I seem to get up and eat the same stuff day in an day out. example boiled egg minus the yolk, 1oz reduced fat cheddar tuna for lunch plain cottage cheese, or string cheese for snack then fish with a few broccoli stem but this is working for my weight loss so far but if any of yall have any suggestions hey let me know i don't eat over 800 calories but usually around 600

I am so ready for summer! I'm ready to be out gardening. Going to farmers markets. Im excited at my new lease on life! I no longer worry about the scale. I actually no longer own one the only time I weigh is doctors visits. I feel good and I'm getting my protein and staying around 600 calories a day. Life after surgery only gets better
  11. Little behind updating but i made it to my one month post op check up last week and i wanted a bigger number but I've lost 33lbs which after i stopped and thought about how many people lose 33 lbs in 1 months! so now i'm proud of my loss. My left thigh is still numb and slightly painful but he said in 6 months that should get better. This month i'm going to focus on my walking and i will pull a big number at my next check up in march! I'm great full for my supportive people i have. I return to work Monday after being gone 6 weeks so i'm dragging my feet there. I'm going to go in with a positive attitude and see how they react. most were jealous that i was getting time off for a surgery they found unnecessary. So i may just be walking back in to the lions den or i may not but what ever it is i will have my head held high! I'm 33lbs slimmer
  12. hey this sounds awesome do you happen to know how many calories and protein per serving? i suck at calculating that stuff
  13. Your not the only one i've heard say this. I'm trying to watch what i say. i've learned that even if people ask how much i've lost most really don't care or are jealous

ya i think cause people see I'm from the south they assume i'm using lard or oil. I've been saying fry since i was a toddler i use a little spray or i can't believe it's not butter and my trusty non stick pan and because i haven't had eggs in so long it taste pretty darn good

Hey i know how much protein i should be getting daily and roughly how many calories they want me to eat but never really gave or that i remember carbs? whats ya'lls average of carbs daily?
  19. it took me 3 yrs to talk my husband in to it but when i finally convinced him that it was this or i would eventually die from obesity related problems he couldn't argue. my other family has been supportive now i wish i hadn't opened my mouth to my co workers but that's another story.

i've never poached an egg so of course i you tubed it and yuck i hate runny yolk so i'll pass that up but i use icbinb and a non stick pan so i'll tab that in the pan tomorrow and cook (my way of frying) it solid.

Yes i heard that and i no i'll never have a carbonated anything ever again which is fine. i was told by my doc i could flatten one if i really wanted it but ya don't want it that bad. yuck

I forget that "fry" is different for everyone. My definition is a little spray or low calorie fake butter. I did try scrambled today with a piece of 100% whole wheat toast and although my post op papers said i could do toast today i really could have passed that up! Eggs went in good toast not so good.
