Liquid Diet and Pre Op Weight Loss
I was on a Full Liquid diet for 14 days before my surgery. It was protein shakes, jello, broth, cream soups and other liquids. About 1000 cal. a day. Not fun but it did the trick. Good Luck.

What is average weight loss for 1 month?
I think Bunny is right. This is a marathon not a sprint! Slow and steady and the more you have to lose the fater it comes off at first! You are moving in the right direction! I am down 33 lbs but I started at a higher weight of 257 and I am counting pre op diet. Since surgery I am down 12 since 12/18. I figure it took me many years to get to this point and it might take a year to get to a good weight.

Freaking Out
If you didn't freak out that would be unusual. You will be fine. It is all worth it in the end. I almost walked out of the prep room IV and all.

Yippppeeee! So glad I found this forum.
I cant bend at the waist yet. I am still sore and have a big bruise where they took my stomach out. I tired some blended bean soup today and it did not work. Lots of chest pain so I only got one spoon full in. Back to shakes for the rest of the day! Cream of Rice worked well I just added cinnimon and a littel butter. Two bites and I was full.

I love the passion leamonaide with splenda, decaf skinny vanilla latte is great too. Just order a tall because it takes forever to drink it and it gets cold.

Yippppeeee! So glad I found this forum.
Hi! Welcome this a great site and very helpful for all kinds of infromation! You got sleeved on the 19 and you are eating? I got sleeved on the 18 and I am still on liquid until Tuesday when I can start blended food. My biggest problem is that I am getting bored of soup! You got through the process really quickly! And you are doing so well! I am down 33 lbs since the pre op diet and only 92 to go Good Luck and keep up the good work!

Really freaking out.
So I am sitting on the bed in the prep room with an IV in and I think "nope, not gonna do it!" "What the F... am I doing!" "What is this goes wrong?" "how do I escape?" I had to calm down my mom had to talk me down. I really freaked! I had been uneasy for a few days before, I didn't follow my pre-op diet 100% maybe about 95% I was scared of the anethisia (sp ?) but I know this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am almost two weeks post op. I have lost 33 lbs. since I started my pre op diet and 10 since surgery. The hospital was blah but not to bad. The worst part is that they keep waking you up to take vitals. Now my biggest complaint is my stomach is sore. You will get through this you will ge great and so handsome!

I like that one! There is another I just found Roasted Sweet Corn and Pepers. It is very good as well. Kinda sweet but if you add a bit of hot sauce it makes it even better!

Do/did you exercise?
My doc said to walk at least a mile a day starting two weeks before surgery and everyday afterwards. He insisted that we walk a mile as soon as we could and kept a chart in our rooms to mark the number of laps around the hospital floor. I just got off the treadmill and went about half a mile but I got dizzy so I stopped. Maybe too much considering the number of calories I'm taking in? I was sleeved on the 18th. I will try a little more each day.
