  1. If you can get through one more week of liquids you will feel better when you do start to eat softs. I had to wait three weeks too and it was hard. At the fourth week I started with cream of wheat with cinnamon and sweetener, very soft scrambled eggs, very well chewed crackers (about 1/2 of one) and kept the other foods too. Since the sleeve is tiny you will feel full very fast so be careful. One extra bite and OMG the pain. Other soft foods were blended chili , no too spicy, blended soups (cream ones too) and apple sauce (that didn't go well for me) if you like I can send you the list that my NUT gave me or you can look it up on line..google gastric sleeve post diet. I found a bunch of resources. Good Luck and hang in there it gets better very quickly.
  2. BAD Spelling is part of too few calories! LOL
  3. So what I read in all of this is that your mom is scared something is going to happen to you. She might not say it out loud (but did) and making up reasons not to have surgery or postpone it is her way of trying to tell you she is scared (maybe)? My mom is very passive agressive and did a little of this. "How are you going to be able to live forever on such a little bit of food?" "I don't think it is healthy to eat so little and what about your congnative function on so few calories?" All her way of being scared without saying it outloud. My mom came around and stayed with me the whole time in the hospital and was at my house everyday for a few days to help. I think you mom will make it happen because in the end it is what is best for you and that is what parents want.

I have the same types of issues. I have a hard time saying no to all the snacks the girls at work eat. They have a lot of good food all the time and not just sweets. Some days I feel myself slipping into the same old habits. I have to face that I am an adict. I love food, have not thrown up once and I am scared of not losing as fast as I could. I have to reset almost everyday and take each day as it comes. Some days I have a "bad" snack but I also have realize that I used to each a whole bag of chips or a lot of cookies and now I have one chip or cookie. One thing I am trying to do is pack all my food and not carry cash. If I don't have cash and I have my food i will not order lunch with everyone else. It helps me on two fronts. I eat what I packed and spend less money. One thing can't believe is that when I eat over 500 calories I actually start to beat myself up. I used to struggle on a 1500 cal diet and now I am trying to stay under 500? What a change in life. We are all learning and we will get there. I just keep telling myself that it took me a long time to get to my heaviest and it might take me a year to get back to a healthy weight. I guess I rambled enough but I feel you for sure! K

  6. lol I know I am not alone! I have a pair of goal pants that I have had for 10 years, not college but old. If they were from college they would fall to dust but my hoarding paid off too or will soon! Good Job!!!

Mine went away in a couple of weeks. Was uncomfortable at first but not after a few days.
  9. I had to give up diet coke and all the same stuff you did. I love bread and french fries etc. One strategy I am using is My Fitness Pal app. or website. It is free and you can log your food. It has a bar code scanner and it helps me to keep track of all my calories, fat, carbs, protein. Before my surgery I used it and it helped me lose 15lbs. I use it now to tack protein and carbs. It might help with making choices and tracking calories. The next thing I did was cut my portions by one third. Not half because it seemed to drastic at first. Once I got used to it then another third was not as hard. I also bought small plates and got rid of large plates. Now we all use the small plates. My son has also lost 22 lbs like this and he didn't even notice. (teenagers) Lastly I made an effort to try new foods. I went to the farmer's market, new places to eat, tried foods that I would never try before because I figured that once I had a very limited capacity I could eat more expensive food beacuse it would be so little a portion that the cost would be minimal. I found lots of new foods. Some are vegan and so good. I love meat but it is easier to eat light after surgery. One more is that I always carry my snacks or emergency food in my purse. I have some type of protein bar, cheese, yougut or before surgery small packs of almonds, granolla bars, or other walmart snacks that were 100 calories. This helped me stay away from drive through. I would pick one and try it for a while. Once it is part of your routine add another. Lucky you have time to make changes slowly. I took about a week on each step and it worked. I lost 20 lbs before surgery. I think that is why my recovery is going well. K

wow you are doing really well! I was sleeved on the 18th and am still working on the protein. I hope to be at 60 tomorrow. I am ok on fluids. I am on a liquid diet which includes yougurt and cream soup no problems as of yet. I also get a weird spasm but not under my sternum it is right under my rib cage on the left where the drain was. I haven't had any problems with feeling full yet. I am also napping a lot even without pain meds. My only complaint is that the staples are itchy. They are drying up and starting to pull. I go and have them out on the 27th so not much longer. I think the best day I've had is when I got to take a hot shower! It is cold here and it hit the spot! Hope everything stays great!
  16. HI! Congrats! I had my sleeve done on Tuesay and I am down to 231 from 238 so not as much as you but not bad. My highest weight was 257 and my sugery weight was 238 thanks to the liquid diet. I am so tired of liquids and like you can't wait for mashed food. Sounds silly but it is true. I was also walking soon after surgery and felt like a loner. Not many people walked a lot. Maybe that is why they stayed an extra day in the hospital! I am fighting headaches maybe not drinking enough but I am trying to get in four ounces an hour. Almost there. Hope all goes well for you!
