HI Holly! I am in the stage they call- waiting-waiting & waiting for insurance. But if you are going to pay for it yourself you could be a mere week or two away from the band. Gather info as much as you can & ask questions till your blue in the face. That way you can really be successful when you enter you new way of living. Best of luck to you.

Hi Zoe- When I think about it... weightloss & feeling better about myself is my #1 priority. So I am more excited about the band than the show. It was more like a question of when to do the band & the frustration of having already waited 5+ months. Also was the band my last choice or should it be the show first?(I have been studing about the band & other WLS for 2 yrs total)But I have a God Can, anyone else know what I am talking about ?? I love it & got it when i went through my divorce. So I wrote down my thoughts on the show & the band and asked God what he thought was best. Than I folded up the letter & placed it through the slot in the can. Now the trick is to let it go & wait for his answer. The premise is when you can't---God Can. So I am waiting & gathering info & praying. I am leaning more towards what BigT said-it seemed as if he(I assume that your a He- sorry if your not) was in my head. Meet the producor - talk about other shows- get the band & than after lossing weight-Go for it!

Babs- & Vines- that truely is my all time FAV show- If I get the band & don't do the other (which looks doubtful)& loose a load of weight COUNT me in girls.

Infaith is so right Melanie- all the scientific studies prove it. 50 pds come on.. that is wonderful. So you hit a rough patch you will know what to do to get out of it. Maybe its a matter of trying just one or two differnt things. Like parking a little further away. Take the stairs when available. Do a leg lift when watching TV or simply make it a MOM's time for 15 mins everyday. no excuses. I know it is sooooo much easier said than done but you made the right choice & will be better of years from now with less skin problems & hopefully less health problem. If your by-pass friends give you a rough time- eat something really sweet in front of them;0)

I just got off the phone w/the gal who I WAS TOLD was dating the producer. It turns out its her neice who is dating the guy- his name is Ben Silverman. The gal whos neice it is was, was supposedly supposed to(if thats a sentence)tell me months ago about this & never did till two days ago. So I told her give my # to your neice & have her call me with any info. But like Pattys daughter I think this audition may have been for mnths ago & not now. We will see soon. I May have gotten my panties in a bunch for nothing;0)

EVERYONE---- thank you all so much for your thoughts. Kathy- i read your post to my sister & she said it was dead on! Thank You BigT- you said it ..... I have been thinking about the possible of loosing weight & NOT being able to qualify for WLS all nite long. Everyone said such excellent things & believe it or not I have been racing all of them through my head all nite & this morning. MY background is acting- so this is also about the possibilty of a career break.( hope that clarifies it a little more as to my ambivalence La Madam) Something not to be taken lightly in this industry & at my age & weight. But I think underlining most of the posts is the fact that I need more info on the show part. I know that if given the opportunity to shake the producers hand & intro myself, I will. Like a few of you said it could open other doors. As for being on the show- well your right I may not get picked-could be thrown off in a week & so forth...But also may gain great experiences(trainers & chefs). I think for now I will call my friend & see about an appt. After hearing more I may totally decide-its not for me. In the mean time hopefully the insurance will go through & I can still set a date for the band. I don't think of the band as a sure thing, I think of it as safety net- but still just as much work. Too cute!! - I think its normal for sure. When I was a kid I needed all my stuffed animals in bed with me till I was about 8. I need everyone in their spot. Did I mention that I had 32! But i knew exactly which one was missing everytime I snuggled into bed. Usually one of the dogs had one. I was a very sloppy child & teen. Now I am a professional organizer ( part time) & keep an EXTREMLY organized & clean home-Go figure;0)

I know that was funny about what LaMadam said & its true I have lost my humor over this quandry.(sorry LaMadam) I wish I could do both. But I am just really searching for answers & am scared of making the wrong choice. I do need you to know that I am not that excited at about the show- I am more concerned that God is trying to tell me something. Why the call now? Right after I spoke w/the doc's office saying they'd tell me next week. I am set for surgery in 3 weeks, if the insurance says yes.. I just thought I was all set in my mind-you know?? Prepared & ready..I am sorry I'm not explaining myself well. I am going to take a sleeping pill & hopefully be more coherant tomorrow. Thank you all- forevery thing [/quote-Kathy]The Bad Side: get famous, meet mean, competitive, back-stabbing people, don't win a dime, put your life on hold for months just to be embarrassed to see yourself on TV grunting and groaning, and knowing your Ex and former co-workers will see every bit of it, be at the mercy of the producers editing the show to make you look like a B**ch from hell if that's what they want to do...lose weight, gain it back months after you get home and are released from the program, be back at square one and you could have gotten the Band two years ago and kept the weight off and kept your private life to yourself.This is what I am most afraid of.

LA Madam You can't have any weight lose surgeries & be on the show- have you ever seen it? I am seriously upset & confused & just don't know what to do. I mean should I just forget about the call. Or do I try the trainers & stuff & see? But what if it doesn't work again?

OK- Here is the set-up. AS of today 3-11-05 got great news that insurance will give me an answer by mid-next week!! I am very happy & have been praying at nite for God to send me an answer............This evening I recieve a call from a very close friend(she Knows Nothing about my possible WLS). She says that another mutual friend of ours wanted her to call me to ask if I would be interested in something - but didn't want me to be embarrased that she asked. This mutual friend dates the producer of the "BIGGEST LOSER" & she said that they had talked about me & if I wanted could probably set up an audition to be on the next show. HOLY CRAP! Now what -is this Gods way of telling me not to do the band?? Or is this a stupid thing to do?? I am so fricken confused. I want the band- but know that if I was with personal trainers & chefs & on TV - well I could do it! But will I keep it off a year from now? I don't know if I could tell the world I weigh more than 245pds. Especially my X & all my old co-workers. They would have no clue I weight as much as I do. Not to mention my dog- who would take care of him?-he is old & has lots of needs. My girlfriend said they may arrange for him to be near me if I go. I didn't know what to say to her-so I said I'd think about it & she should ask if my dog could come because he is to old to be in a kennel for mnths. Than what do I do when insurance says yes next week?The office said they have a tenative date for march 29 -for me. Oh my Gosh- i just can't think straight. Anyone have any ideas for me? PLEASE. I have no one to really ask-because I have told only 3 people(1 is my mom) about the WLS. I know what she would say, try the show, at least I think thats what she say. Ok - So since I am pigging out lately waiting for insurance approval & Stressing.I am eating. What IF YOU CAN ADMIT is the most Gross or weird combo of food that you've eaten? I 'll go first. I admit to using orange juice & or ice tea because I was out of milk in my cereal--several times. Not so bad.. Ok how about this one; I admit to taking a piece of bread(gross-wasn't even white it was sour dough- but thats all I had around), adding Peanut Butter & than spreading chocolate pudding on top of it. EEWWW! And yes I ate the whole thing. By the way did I mention that was today:cry Gross
