  5. I just logged in to ask this same question! I'll be three weeks out Monday and I'm starting to really feel the hunger pains. My pouch growls and gurgles and i get a slight pain up high between the girls. I'm also a fast eater! What's going on...I thought we were not supposed to feel hunger until much later?
  6. Yay!!!...keep up the great work!!!
  7. I guess you could say i'm a rebel too cause i've been experimenting with different soft foods for a more than a few days now. I'm not cleared for soft foods until Monday...Oh well, i'm doing good with refried beans, mashed potatoes and crackers. Going to try Chilie tonight. My pouch gets angry when it's empty and water seems to maker it angrier!
  8. Ice chips were the first thing i got to have when i was cleared of any leaks. Just going along with what Dr. said i could do
  9. 50-60 grams a day....It's getting more difficult cause these shakes are starting to taste like poo!
  10. I find myself taking regular gulps too....Let us know what your Dr. says about it stretching your pouch.
  11. You go girl!!!!...That is awesome!!!...You will be at goal before you know it!!!
  12. Getting really tired of these sweet protein drinks. Did good all week getting in 60 grams. Yesterday only got in about 25. I can't stand the thought of fixing another shake!!!...Also, i did a "no no" yesterday and had 3 low fat tall house crackers. The crunch from those was amazing Left side pain is getting really annoying too! My two week post op appt is today. Have not been on the scale since last Monday. Can't really tell i've lost anything but my feet look skinnier
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dltmf4PaFPw here's the video. She starts talking about it at 9:20.
  14. Hi Wendilou....Same here. I have been feeling very sad that last couple of days and figure it's because of the lack of food. I'll be glad when i can get more variety in my diet. Feeling kinda weak also...trying to get my fluids in. Congrats on your weight loss so far. You go girl!!!
  15. I have the same problem...but i remembered watching a youtube video of someone talking about all the things you must have after RNY surgery. Tongs (steak turners) was one of the items. That's what i've been using when i go to the bathroom. If i come across her video again i will post it.
  16. Thanks Krystal...hoping i can start it next week.
  17. Are you allowed to add mayo to your tuna fish and chicken? If so, what brand of mayo? Do you blend it in the blender?
  18. Hi everyone. I'm 49 and will be 50 in Nov. I had RNY surgery April 22, 2013. Five days later I was back in the ER and had to have emergency surgery for a incarcerated hernia that happened at one of the larger incision sites. I've been back home since Sunday and still very sore on the left side. Not having any problem keeping liquid or anything down....so I'm very thankful for that. Just wish the soreness would go away. I love hearing about everyones experience, the good and the bad
  19. Are any of you other April post ops have a hard time figuring out what the full feeling feels like? Being that we are still in pain from surgery...It's hard for me to tell?
  20. Praying you get some relief for the pain. I wish I could offer some advice
  21. Hope you feel better real soon!
  22. I still have a whole bunch of swelling too.. I mean it literally looks like i have a basketball in my stomach....LOL. That is awesome you've lost that much so quickly. I bet you are on cloud 9 and doing happy dances!!!! I put my scale up and will not weigh again till i go back to the Dr. on Monday. The weight has no choice but to come off after what we just put our bodies through. Keep up the great work Dorian and to all the others who just had surgery. As far as sugar goes....I will not dare take a chance on putting something in my mouth that is not sugar free this early out. Too much good stuff out there with splenda. I do drink skim milk and doing ok with it...but other than that i'm too scared of dumping and don't want to experience that just yet
  23. Hi There....My surgery was April 22....released to go home that Thursday and was back in the hospital for emergency surgery early Saturday morning. I developed a hernia through one of the larger incision sites. I could not even eat a ice chip or take a tiny sip of water without having bad abdomen and back pain for hours until it could pass through. What does your pain feel like...is it constant after you eat or drink anything? If you feel like your Drs office is not listening to you or taking you serious....i would go to the ER and have them run test. My hernia was not visable in xray....but showed up in a Cat Scan. Good Luck and hope you get some relief soon. xoxoxo
  24. My surgery weight was 196 and now 9 days later i'm 202. I still have not got rid of all the fluids they pumped into me. Very discouraging...but I know it will happen with time.
