  1. Hoping all the April er's who have had surgery are doing good. It's a big list this month! I had all my pre op testing done today. One more step closer to surgery date April 22. I almost chickened out this morning...so glad I didn't!!!
  2. Good Luck to all the ones having surgery today.....Will be anxiously waiting to hear back from you all....hugs and prayers your way.
  3. For calcium citrate...has anyone tried this? http://www.procarenow.com/UPCAL-D-Powdered-Calcium-20-oz-can_p_10055.html I wonder if it really is tasteless. Would be great to just mix this with a protein shake or flavored water.
  4. Oh my gosh, how cool is that!!!...That's weird how they can test your metabolic rate. I'm hypo and have to take thyroid meds. Can't wait to see what my results are! I guess it's to see if you will be a fast loser or slow loser. Is that the purpose of the test?
  5. Woohooo! I'm ready to go too surgery sister
  6. Yay!...Hoping you have a speedy recovery
  7. SkinnyJess...how did they say you would cover your back side when you walk the halls?
  8. Thanks Dorian, didn't know they could disconnect it all. Are you April 22 also?
  9. I have a silly question....With the IV's in your arm, how do you put your arm in the sleeve of your own PJ's and robe?
  10. So glad you posted this! I swear, the horror stories would find me everywhere i went!!!! Scared me into backing out of the whole process a while back. My surgery is April 22 and I'm feeling real good about it now. You are doing awesome!!!!....Can't wait to be on the losing side with you!
  11. I'm having surgery April 22. I just got my packet in the mail telling me i go for pre op testing at the hospital April 10th....then a pre op visit with the surgeon on April 18th. I only have to diet 3 days prior to surgery. Low sugar, low fat soups and two protein drinks with skim milk a day to shrink my liver. They also want me to come to the office on the same day as my hospital pre op test to do a metabolic test...has to be on a empty stomach. What is that all about? Anyone know what a metabolic test is and how it's done??? Getting really excited!!!
  12. Is this the book ya'll are talking about? http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/eating-well-after-weight-loss-surgery-patt-levine-md/1006179409
  13. I quit smoking tobacco cigs 7 months ago with a ecig. This ecig still has nicotine....will I have to stop this too before surgery. I wrote on my medical form that i do the ecig....but Dr. never said anything about it???.....I'll be so bummed if they cancel surgery because of this. How long does nicotine stay in your blood????..Anyone know?
  14. I live in North Texas...Surgery date is April 22.
  15. I have bcbs of illinois also. It took exactly 7 days for them to deny me. They wanted my medical history from my primary care dr. After they received that info it took 10 days to approve me. Surgery date is April 22. Good luck with your journey
  16. SoccerMomma73....that is what i was thinking too....Only need the calcium citrate and I'll do those during the day and then take this multivitamin at night before bed. Where is the very best, cheapest place to get calcium citrate chewables and preferably just two a day and not four to get the 1000 mg required. I was looking at Bariatric Advantage but they won't tell me what shipping will cost until i check out???
  17. I got them today and the taste is not bad at all. They are smaller than i thought they would be also. Sure beats taking two multivitamins a day since this give you 200% of the daily recommended amount. Plus it has the required iron i'm supposed to take ....Baker_gurl, what other supplements do you take along with this?
  18. I just ordered this chewable multivitamin. I would like to know if anyone else is taking this one? Would love opinions on it. Thanks http://www.procarenow.com/Chewable-One-A-Day-Bariatric-Multi-Vitamin--30-ct_p_10002.html
  19. For a multivitamin with iron included I think I'm going to order these. Only one a day and it's chewable and cheap. http://www.procarenow.com/Chewable-One-A-Day-Bariatric-Multi-Vitamin--30-ct_p_10002.html
  20. Congrats!!!!...bunch of people are getting their dates today
  21. I think I will order from here and get the variety pack of the isopure...http://www.luckyvitamin.com/p-232400-natures-best-isopure-zero-carb-rtd-variety-pack-12-bottles This should last the full 10 days if i drink a full bottle and then 1/4 of another. That should be 50-60 grams of protein.
