  1. Good luck! I'm tomorrow too. Gotta be there at 5am for a 730 surgery. Nervous but ready!!
  2. I'm nervous and excited and ready to do this!! Have to be there at 5 for a 7:30 surgery. Prayers and positive thoughts very much appreciated!!
  3. My bp was up last week and I didn't get cardiac clearance for surgery. My surgeon referred me to a cardiologist and I saw him today. Bp was still up but EKG and sonogram showed my heart is perfect (so glad to hear that!). But now I'm on 2 bp meds and I have to go back Thursday for another bp check. I'm just so frustrated. This came out of nowhere, I've never had Bp issues before. Ugh. I just do not want to have to reschedule surgery! It would be August before I could get in.
  4. I'm set for my sleeve on the 10th. I just have to see a cardiologist tomorrow for my final cardiac clearance and I'm golden. Today I have been sooo emotional. Almost broke down crying at Target. I start my preop tomorrow so maybe that's part of it? I dunno but it just seemed to come out of nowhere today. Sigh... I've read enough to know that many people experience emotional side-effects of surgery. Definitely expect I will be one of them!
  5. I went in today for my cardiac testing and never even made it on the bike because my BP was too high. They took it when I first got there and it was 130/94. By the time I got the EKG hooked up and they checked it it read 130/108. The only time I've ever had high BP was when I was pregnant. I've never been on meds or told it was something to watch. This totally threw me. Now they want me to see a cardiologist for a stress test. The problem... my surgery is scheduled for June 10th. The soonest I can get in for a CONSULT with the cardiologist is next Tuesday the 4th. That's just the consult. If I can't get the stress test done before the 10th I'm screwed. The surgeon's office said they are scheduling for late July now so it would likely be August before I could get in if we have to change dates. Talk about stressful. For about a week I've had sinus issues so I have to wonder if the meds I'm taking have messed with my BP. The tech said it was it was possible but they couldn't say. On top of that my Mom was in the hospital all last weekend, I was the one running back and forth checking on her AND I have 2 small kids that are a vortex all their own. AND I have to go into work tomorrow and ask for MORE time off. Lovely. Sigh... I know they have to check me out and make sure it's safe for surgery.. I KNOW that... but I'm so damn pissed right now! I've been waiting 6+ months already and I just want to get this DONE! Thanks for letting me vent....
  6. Me me me!! I'm scared/excited and just wish it was over so I can get to losing!!
  7. Does anyone know of any meetings in the Arlington/ Grand Prairie area!
  8. I am using Dr Kim for my revision. 4 weeks from today! Eeekkk! I've heard nothing but great things about Dr Kim and his staff. My experience with them has been great so far!
  9. I am excited but starting to get nervous!! I go in for my pre-op on the 28th. It will be even MORE real then! EEEKKK!!
  10. Not sleeved yet but Dr Kim is doing mine in June!! I've read lots of great reviews for him on this page. Good luck to you both!!
  11. I'm doing a revision with Dr Kim in June. I've heard differing opinions about his bedside manner but never one bad thing about his skills as a surgeon. I know he will come check on me after surgery but I don't expect him to stay there and hold my hand kwim? I'm having mine at Baylor Trophy Club and I've read/heard nothing but good things about the hospital. Before deciding on Dr Kim I met with other docs but chose him because he has done a ton of revisions.
  12. It's definitely not bitter. It was almost like it was just the FINAL FINAL thing I needed to know in my soul that I was doing the right thing. I am so ready to get this journey started!!
  13. I have 2 children, 6 and 3. Today my hubby and I took them to the zoo. We were getting ready to leave and my 3 year old son looked at me and said "You coming with us mama?", all wide-eyed and surprised. My husband is always taking the kids places and a lot of times I don't go with them. I just can't keep up with all of the walking. I end up with sore knees, ankles, back, out of breath and not enjoying myself at all. So to hear my 3 year old say that, and realize that at his young age he KNOWS when I'm not with them as a family... it broke my heart. I am scheduled for surgery 6/10 and I know it's the right thing for me. But hearing that from my son today... ugh... it just slayed me to the core. But now I know without a doubt this is the best thing for me AND my family!!
  14. June 10th here! It seems like forever away to me but I've already been in this journey for 6+ months.
  15. Hello all! I'm scheduled for a band to sleeve revision on 6/10. It seems like so far away! I've already done my sleep study (no apnea) and EGD (no problems found) so just have to do a cardiac clearance and nutrition class at the end of May. I'm soo ready to do this!!
  16. Welcome! I'm in Grand Prairie and my date with destiny is 6/10!!
  17. Got my date! June 10th with Dr Kim at Baylor Trophy Club!! Eeeek!!!!
  18. Got my date today- June 10th! I'm kinda freaking out a bit!
  19. We went to WDW last December and I remember thinking "this is the last time I will be here obese". I'm not sleeved yet but just waiting on the all clear from the insurance. How did you do with your meals during your vacation?
  20. It didn't seem right to me either but that's what she told me. It wasn't anything to do with my insurance, she specifically said it was "closing". There were tons of people there when I had my ECG and it was a great facility so I was surprised.
