  1. I think it's only the meds that thin your blood that are a problem before surgery. The lead up to surgery is a pretty anxious time for everyone. Make sure you do heaps of the stuff that you know helps for you (except eating heaps ) Exercise lots, talk lots. Breath. This is a great thing you're doing. Good luck, Deano
  2. Mmmmm cheese kransky
  3. cheese makes everything better! I cooked a goat shoulder I got from a Greek butcher a few months ago low and slow on my kamado. Took about 8 hours but it was unbelievable!
  4. Yeah, but with cheese!
  5. She looks tasty! Nice goat too.
  6. Yeah booyee!
  7. Nice. I've missed ur cooking!
  8. Thanks mate. Had a look at that, and it's checked. I guess having two tickers isn't the end of the world! Deano
  9. Well, do blondes have more fun? (Sorry for the thread hijack. Just noticed the new photo)
  10. As everyone else has said - I think it's VERY normal. I think the vast majority of us regulated our emotions with food. Until I had a VSG I didn't think I was an emotional eater, but I was. Being confronted by feelings and not being able to eat and make them go away is, well, confronting! Make sure you're talking to family and friends more, get out and get some fresh air, exercise. Set up an arsenal of things 'regular' people do when they get depressed, stressed or anxious. Congrats on the loss so far, Deano
  11. I'm 13 weeks post op. I get dry mouth fairly regularly and it's generally when the scales are moving. My belief is that my dry mouth is from being in a state of ketosis. Keep sipping! Cheers, Deano http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketosis
  12. Hmm. Thanks. Not mine. I created the BMI one first I think. I deleted both and started again and just selected "Body Weight". I'm sure I'm doing something stooopid!
  13. You've gone from a BMI of 42 to a BMI of 33 - You are nailing it! I'm assuming that you must be um, shorter, for an amazing fall in BMI like that for 39 pounds. It's all relative. When you started this you were 'Very Severely Obese' (sorry, you were so was I ) with a BMI of 42. You've powered through 'Morbid Obesity' BMI 35 to 40 You're currently 'Obese' BMI 30 to 35 (me too!) You are on the precipice of falling into the 'Overweight' category - BMI 25 to 30 and you've almost lost half of the weight you want to lose! You're obviously doing something incredibly right. Keep doing what you're doing and you will achieve your goal. Deano
  14. I've always said there are no stupid questions only stupid people (okay, maybe this is a stupid question) How do you 'merge' your tickers, so you have weight & BMI on one??
  15. If everything goes to plan that time line should be fine. The sooner you get moving the better. Just no lifting for 6 weeks. Deano
  16. Congrats on getting to goal. Thats amazing.
  17. You'll be right Beth. The calories / amount off food drops through the floor when you start eating 'real' food. 40lbs in 3 weeks - nice work!!
  18. I think she likes your new profile pic. Looking pretty studly bro!

From what I've seen the negativity and biatching as all but disappeared. It was people like Laura spending a lot of time diverting the in fighting that made a difference. I agree with JMarshall. You're always going to have neg poeple in any forum. Over time you just find a bunch of like minded people and enjoy their opinions and thoughts.
  23. Haha! "Hello old friend" .....lol
  24. Only a few more pounds and we'll both be 'overweight' *hi five* You're killing it.
