Momonanomo reacted to kw2walker in Dumping syndrome
It's said that sleevers should not experience dumping as much as a person whose had a by pass. Watch your sugar and fat intake. Always keep in mind everyone is different. Should you experience dumping a lot contact your doctor and ask additional questions.
If you aren't experiencing dumping why regret your sleeve?

He seems to be doing well with it. I have made a special point to recognize what this all has meant to him and how it has affected him, and Ive tried to give lots of positive reinforcement. For example, I made a point to thank him profusely for the TLC he gave during my recovery, and I continue to show gratitude. I also acknowledged that him having to watch me go through surgery must have been really scary and nerve-racking, and I was sorry he had to go through that & see me in the hospital. Sometimes it means the world to just validate your loved one's feelings, ya know? But now that I seem to get better exponentially every single day....I believe he would agree this was the right decision.

This is a really great blog entry! So true all those things that affect the scale --- very wise words. I'm blown away by how well you'e done -- 80 lbs! Gone! And it seems like just yesterday that you were going in for surgery Your hard work -- and I believe you ARE working hard to be spending all that time in the gym! -- it's all paying off and will for the rest of your life. Well done my friend very inspiring.

Momonanomo got a reaction from kw2walker in one month since surgery
Hi ornurse as for the green smoothies -- I use a nutribullet blender to do a smoothie with 1/2 fruit and 1/2 green leafy vegetable (I've so far used kale, spinach, and chard) I add my protein shake powder to these. I had felt like my body was really missing fruits & vegetables since durign my meals I only eat protein -- that's all there's room for right now! I do feel a lot better since I started doing this, and I have more energy. I recommend it to anyone!
Thanks Angela! Good luck to you as well! My pre-op diet was very similar. I remember that it was easier than I had thought it was going to be, and I beleive it's because I was thinking of it as being preparation for surgery, not just any old diet. I am really glad that I practiced not drinking with meals at that time too, because now I'm used to it.

Thank you so much for posting your experience. It really helps everyone who is not on the sleeved team yet. I really appreciate every detail. Even the "TMI" parts because nobody is exempt in any of those areas. Keep up the great work and good luck on your journey!

When I got the band, I got input from a few people...some that I now know I shouldn't have discussed it with because I didn't want to "go public". Telling one or two "wrong" people can be just like telling everybody. I didn't shout it from the highest mountain top, but I shared it. I admire those that can and do "let it all out".
This time, I'm more private. I've been more selective because it is my second time around and if you think the first WLS surgery comes with judgment, WELL, LET ME TELL YOU...
I want to learn my new tummy and lifestyle without the glare of the spot light. That is, the food police, the constant questions, comments and observations. Sharing every step of my journey with everybody does not interest me. I have a support system that works for me.
One day, I will happily share my WLS story when and with whom I choose. Right now, I'm doing something that I have rarely done in my life. I'm focusing on me. This is about me being better and healthier for myself and my loved ones. When I think about it that way, the list of people that I feel the need to tell just got shorter.

First thing you need to do is get the negative talk out of your head. Stop talking to yourself so negatively. You've made a HUGE decision to make your life better, start being nice to yourself. I had the same problem pre-surgery. I ate pretty much everything I thought I would miss post-surgery. Now that I'm almost 6 mos post-surgery, I don't even THINK of any of those things any longer. When I sit down to eat, I often don't get past the protein on my plate. I LOVE vegetables and bread....and don't get me started on desserts, but I'm SO full with the protein I don't even get to move to another option on my plate.
Take it slow, take it easy on yourself, and make it as positive of an experience as you can. Remember, garbage in, garbage out....what you think, you become, so be nice to yourself and encourage yourself! You'll do great!

You've done the right thing by asking him to pick up his things. It's time for you to concentrate on yourself and your wonderful son. Life's too short to waste time being with someone who doesn't make you feel good. And I mean it -- love is supposed to feel GOOD! And.... you want your son to know that you are a strong, happy, healthy woman. You're doing the right thing.
It's natural to be sad when a relationship ends... but you've got quite an adventure coming up that will help distract you!
I send good thoughts your way. We're all pulling for you!
    Onward!!
