  1. I had surgery 12/17/12 and I'm down 71 lbs. you?
  2. I called the office and have an appt with him Monday morning. Also talked to his stupid PA, that kept saying "um, yeah, that's strange". The doctor that I work with thinks its an adhesion because its triggered by movement.
  3. I have some butterflies on my back, and I haven't noticed a difference. Well, maybe now I can turn my head and see them.
  4. I mixed unflavored unjury to crystal light lemonade and it was disgusting.
  5. And I'm 5 months post op today.
  6. A few days ago, I started with a vague burning sensation near the top of my rib cage on the left side. When I stand perfectly straight, and hold my stomach in it is most noticeable. When I press on it, it burns, like something pulling or tearing. When it's palpated deeply, no increase in pain. It doesn't feel like its deep. A doc that I work with felt around, and doesn't feel a hernia. I do not have trouble eating. No nausea or vomiting, I'm regular, ad my gallbladder removed 6 years ago. Anyone have a similar problem?
  7. I took 2 weeks. I would have definitely taken 4 looking back. It was painful, I struggled getting my food and water in-barely got 24 ounces in daily.
  8. My surgeon didn't use one. Because if how I was intubated for anesthesia, they didn't want to risk extubating me.
  9. My husband and I went there for our 19th anniversary, along with our best friends. Went to the Graceland Wedding Chapel. It was awesome, "Elvis" was amazing.
  10. I weigh daily. Sometimes several times a day.
  11. I'm always cold. Wearing polar fleece mat work when it's 90 degrees outside.
  12. I don't cook differently. Most of the time I eat what my family eats-except I skip the carbs. I will eat protein and veggies.
  13. I posted a new pic on Facebook yesterday. Within 30 minutes, my oldest son who is stationed at Camp Lejuene texted me with a picture that we took at the Tennessee Aquarium before he left for boot camp. He then said that he would 100% not be Able to recognize me and was proud of my accomplishments.
  14. Last time I tried refried beans, they hurt. That was nearly two months ago. Last week had a sesame grilled chicken salad at BJs Brewhouse. The napa cabbage sat like a brick in my stomach. I can eat coleslaw without a problem or any other raw salad. Pork is hit or miss. So is beef.
  15. You will be ok. My incisions didn't get glue because I'm allergic to adhesive. No staples or sutures either. They wrapped my abdomen with an elastic binder.
  16. I like to look at fashion mags. But I have zero fashion sense. I don't know how to accessorize. I'm not into trends. I tend to keep it super casual-jeans, tshirts, and my faithful clunky danskos.
  17. My boss had this surgery about a year and a half ago. I had never heard of it until then. She was very frank about her surgery, her success and struggles. I decided to look into having the procedure after talking to her. My coworkers knew that I was having the surgery, along with my friends and family. Everyone has been so supportive. I chose to be honest when asked because if my boss hasn't shared her experience with me, I would probably still weigh 275lbs.
  18. This morning I woke up, went to the bathroom, undressed and stood on the scale. Weight 207. Stepped off, turned scale on, and stepped on. Weight 208 two more times.
  19. I had mine in Baton Rouge Louisiana by Dr. Drake Bellenger. My cost was 14200, and included everything-his fees, hospital costs, tests, psych eval, nutritional consult(3 visits), one meeting with a trainer. Surgeon follow up for two years. He's one of the top in the country for this surgery.
  20. I take the lowest weight. I hate stepping back on one and its a pound higher. I am nearly 5 months out and need to break the scale habit. I weigh at least twice a day.
