    hi,
I totally understand how you feel. My friends always call me out for food, and now i only can reject them. they dont know i had my surgery. I just dont know how to face my friends about eating.
I am also worried that i wouldnt be able to finish even half a normal meal when dinning out in future. that meakes me feels i am not a normal person.
When i am unhappy about these. i will look at how fat i am. and i will tell myself that i need to do something about it. And i did it, just waiting for the results to come. (i am 3 weeks out)
If there is a Genie that can grant me wishes. I would want my health, weight lost, dissappear of my fats and to live longer and healthier to see my children grow up. In exchange my ability to eat. I will still agreed.
stay strong. (reminder to myself too)

I was to scared to eat anything off plan for fear of getting a leak and dying, that is how I coped.
I know its hard but just think if you eat something you shouldn't and something bad happens you will so regret it. That was always in the back of my mind.

Most leaks develop within the first two weeks so at one week she's right in the window. Many are developed during the surgery...but so small they aren't discovered until later, and that's normally within the first couple of weeks. The poison flowing into your body causes symptoms which many ignore for a week or more as "typical gas" or whatever. Severe weakness and shortness of breath are symptoms that the leak is causing damage in the body. If there is a leak of course. But it's not something to screw around with. My problems were greatly exacerbated by the medical people dismissing them as symptoms of a blood loss in surgery. A leak found early has a much much much higher chance of repair, but every hour, every day you go with that poison leaking into you, makes it more likely they won't be able to repair it and your other organs will be damaged.
When are you out of the woods? Typically it takes a few months to fully heal, but a leak after six weeks is very rare. They are normally caused by activities that aren't recommended in the first six months, high contact sports, extreme lifting, trauma from other uncontrollable sources (ie a car accident). After three or so months of a healthy surgery with no complications your staple line is likely mostly covered with tissue which will continue to form into a hard line which closes the stomach permanently, staples or not
When to quit worrying....I will be given the all clear at six weeks after the second surgery. Unless you have been experiencing symptoms of flu, low fevers, etc and dismissing them during the six week period, you're probably safe to say you are out of the woods at that point, then just act like a lady for the next six (OK i'm not good at that heh heh)

In terms of foods that you can relate to, at 3 years out, these are foods I can eat if I choose to. I rarely do eat fast food though.
I can eat most of a Jr Whooper.
I take off some of the bread.< /p>
I can eat most of a leg and thigh and cole slaw at KFC
I can eat a soft taco or a crunchy taco from taco bell
I can eat half a sandwich
I can eat about a 4 oz steak with some veggies
I can eat 2 pieces of thin crust pizza
    Does that help?
I think that I should add though, that this is actually quite a bit more than I could eat at one year. This is probably the amounts I could eat at 2 years, and it's not changed since then.

I'm 16 months post op. I can eat 1 normal slice of pizza and some salad for example or 6 inch from subway minus the top bread and a couple chips. Or a small burger no top bun, with pickles and about 5 fries. Sure with some soda- i dont do diet though. Yes I chug Water, and feel like my portions are healthy. I maintain my weight easily and eat 2000 calories a day. :-)

I am from a Singapore , where sleeve are rarely done here, less than 40 of them a year.
my doctor only did 20+ patient for sleeve. Sounds scary isn't it.
I am grad that I survive.
On the 4th day while in hospital, doctor already ask me to take full liquid (protein drink)
So far so good. But I worried if i have enough input of "food"
I only took 2 x 160 cal Protein drink and Water a day.
I wanted to lose weight slowly and healthy.
I still got cravings to eat my favorite food... Not sure is it real or mental... Hungry...
This is my first post btw.

From my understanding is, Protein helps us retain our muscle while we are burning fats.
We will lose our muscle while losing weight if we don't have enough protein.
We wanted to lose fats instead of muscle because if you have more muscle, you burn up more calories.
And more protein also prevent hair from dropping.
