smaller the average sleeve?
It sounds normal to me too. I would still measure my food and do not try and over eat your sleeve or push it though.

I would give anything to be able to eat ANYTHING!
That's so sad. Man that has to be difficult both emotionally and physical. I'm in the clear liquid stage of my diet, but I can add Unjury Unflavored protein powder to beef broth. It has the same consistency as plain water. Do you think you could do anything like that and keep it down? That way you'd be getting in some protein. Good luck honey, I feel terrible for you!

6 weeks post op and miserable
Oh, I'm sorry you're not feeling very good. I can understand how you'd feel this way though, but I'm only three days out - but it has been a challenging three days I hope we both look back on this time and are able to say (like most others) how we're so happy we had it done and the only regret is not doing it sooner. Can you talk to your nutritionist/or doctor about your pain when eating and discuss options?

3 days post op and not feeling full?
I was sleeved May 6 also. I'm scared to have a full feeling. I'm just trying to drink enough and get some protein in as well. I feel like I have a very gassy/bloated tummy though.

So upset
Go with what you originally wanted. Call your insurance company yourself and tell them your situation speak to a "higher up" to save time and explaining the situation more than you need to.

Post Op Vitamins!
I use Opurity (people who make Unjury protein powder). It's a one a day thing. I also take a calcium.

Worried I'm eating too much : (
I'm still in the clear liquid stage and trying to deal with air bubbles, I can't imagine eating a banana in a few days, yikes. Hope everything goes well with this learning curve.

No energy!
When did you have your surgery? I'm three days post-op and have low energy, but I try hard to get protein (isopure) and drink enough. That's about all I can do for now.

Suddenly able to stick to a diet?
I have my surgery on Monday at noon. I'm getting very, very nervous for the first time. I'm actually on-line searching for reasons not to do this! I have a bad case of the jitters with a side of cold feet. On to your question;I'm curious about the diet part too also I'm wondering how many people have to take ant-acids after their surgery. So sorry for hijacking.

So with all this talk of cheating on your pre-op, I have a confession.
i think you'll do great!
-
If your trying to cheat aiready. Your notvready
I know what ya mean. I just try and show the Grinch's of the world a little love in hopes that they can pay it forward. It's my inner pollyanna/tree hugger comming out, either that or i'm actually starving from this pre-op liquid diet!!!
-
If your trying to cheat aiready. Your notvready
Are we ready for a group hug yet?
-
Why be negative
i know the particlular situation(s) the Op is talking about, and I agree. we can all have an opinion without being indignant or rude. Tough love is one thing, nasty, is another.

If your trying to cheat aiready. Your notvready
My pre-op liquid diet was really difficult for me, but each day got a little easier and a little easier. Which I think will lend itself well for the "after" way of eating. This whole experience is a process and with anything else in life, we learn as we go. I think it was Maya Angelou who said "When you know better, you do better." I'm certainly doing better, even if it's baby steps.

Entry #1 Here We Go!
Woot - woot, we're sleeve sisters! I'm in for surgery Monday at 12p.m.. I'm usually a nervous nelly about these things but I feel oddly calm about it. Good luck to you, I hope you have a safe and speedy recovery! Check back in when you feel up to it.

Consultation appt has been set, but what if its for nothing?
Also, contact your insurance company directly and see what is required and see if they can send you those requirements in the mail. That was the first thing I did when considering this surgery.
