  1. Thank you Jessie and good luck to you too!!! I'm scared (but more excited), how are you feeling and D-day?
  2. I read a lot of people go "back to basics" meaing a liquid diet like right after surger. Do you think that could help you reset?
  3. Congratulations on all your success - but that made me feel woozy! I was warned.
  4. My liquid diet starts Monday too. My surgery is 05/06, so this should be an interesting test run of what the next few weeks are going to be like.
  5. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well! I hope things get better soon.
  6. thanks for the replies. meds are one thing i haven't thought of yet. hope everyone doing well.
  7. Hi mysleeveforlife, I was just wondering what all the prescriptions he prescribed were? My surgery is on 05/06 and as far as I know, my dr. only prescribed loratab (sp) and a PPI. thanks for the info.
  8. Thanks for sharing your story! And, congratulations on your success and all of your hard work.
  9. I asked what size bougie he uses (what size tummy you'll have after). My surgeon uses the smallest size 32, but he said he does not staple the stomach tightly around it, so it lessens the likelihood of leaks.
  10. I'm pre-sleeve and it's great to hear all the positive things people have to say about their experience!
  11. I was not going to tell my children anything. They were just going to spend the night at my parents house and be none the wiser. At least that was the plan. However, my 5 year old over heard my mom tell my dad that I was going to have surgery in a couple of weeks. My dh started crying and saying she couldn't live without me and she didn't want me to have a surgery. I knew she might we worried about me, but I wasn't expecting this reaction (which was why I wasn't going to say anything, I don't want to worry her). It's a tough call. Maybe you could explain it to the older child, but the younger one might get scared for you and worry. At least that was my experience. Good luck on the surgery and a speedy recovery.
  12. That's so exciting. I think I would be so nervous, I'm such a baby. I cried before my c-sections too. Surgeries just freak me out
  13. Congratulations on you date! You must be so excited.
  14. I'll be in your shoes in a few weeks and I'm not looking forward to it. I've got to get a plan together. Good luck and try and keep busy!
  15. Wowza - that's great! Keep up the great work
  16. That's horrible - but funny too (sorry) thanks for sharing.
  17. Sometimes a good cry is needed! I hope everything goes well for you w/o gas pains.
  18. That's amazing - congratulations on all your hard work!!!
  19. I'm sorry to hear you're having a bit of a difficult time. I wish I had some advice to offer, but I'm pre-vsg. Have you spoken to your surgeon's office? Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
  20. He should consider seeing a therapist to help him deal with his feelings. A good spouse needs to be there for you too and I think you should still go ahead with the surgery.
  21. Congratulations Leleboo! I think you found a great program - Which doctor will be doing your surgery? .
  22. Hi Michigan - I'm about to get sleeved in about a month. I've jumped through all the hoops to get approval and now I'm just waiting for the six month waiting period my insurance company requires. However, I'm now starting to have second thoughts about my surgeon. I'm sure Dr. Hendricks will do great, but I like UofM's after program and I think it offers a lot more in those terms. Anyone else get sleeved at UofM?
  23. That's wonderful progress!! And you look so happy too. Congratulations on everything.
