  1. Thank you for this!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  2. I use the flinstone complete chewables for my multi, and the Bariatric Advantage calcium chews (chocolate is my fave). Nausea is still common at this stage, I still get it too sometimes when I drink too fast, or with vitamins etc...I've heard that part gets better with time...
  3. Totally agree with you here!!!!
  4. I never pureed it in a blender, just chewed the heck out of it, and/or made it in a crock pot type meal so that the meat was soft. I have not yet tried regularly cooked meats (other than chicken/fish).
  5. Try pedialyte, Gatorade, Powerade or something like that tonight with electrolytes to help u feel a bit better and then definitely get into your pcp in the morning. They may refer you to er or urgent care for IV fluids. You have to take care of yourself for you and your baby!!! Sip sip sip...decaf tea w Splenda. You can do this... I would also be worried about the oozing, that's not normal. Good luck and hope you are feeling better ASAP -Cassie Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. It may not have been the Peanut Butter... I cannot tolerate raw fruits n veggies yet Sent from my iPhone using VST

  9. I caught a cold/sinus infection 3.5 weeks out. I was able to take tylenol cold/tylenol allergy caplets (spelling?). They went down fine, just drank it with a bit of water/fluids. Doc said as long as its about m&m size it should be fine.
  10. 4.5 weeks out, sleeved dec 5 2012. SW239 DoS225 CW 209 :-) Sent from my iPhone using VST

  13. Very cool for a numbers girl like me! I've also been documenting weight lost, and measurements, although I'm only 4 weeks out and not quite ready to share yet. Congrats on your continued success
  14. Did they give you any pain medication? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  15. This to me sounds like gallbladder issues. Talk to your surgeon about an abdominal ultrasound (surprised they didn't do it in er). Upper chest area pain is common with gallbladder issues. I thought I was having a heart attack, turned out to be gallbladder. Was worse than having my son! Wishing you pain free and some answers! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  16. 12/5 here and doing just peachy! Getting most fluids in and almost Protein in most days. Still have to supplement with shakes though as no way I can eat all the protein on purée/soft/mushies :-) down to 211.2 from 239.8 starting weight and 225 day of surgery weight Sent from my iPhone using VST
  17. Yay! I am also on 12/5. I'm the opposite, warm and hot makes my tummy upset. The colder the better. I have a cold this week too! :-(( boo on that. I am down to 211.2 as of yesterday soo awesome I cannot WAIT to be in onederland! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  18. Hey all my early bird friendlies! Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing! Hope all is well and everyone had a great christmas and a happy new year!
  19. My heart goes out to you.. First of all, congrats for sticking to the program and walking/working out on the treadmill to get healthy before your surgery. Second, as a person who has previously been in an emotionally abusive relationship, keep your head up. You are doing this for YOU. Do not let his words get to you, and stay strong. Keep walking a little bit at a time, and things will get better, do your research and decide what is the best option for YOU to get fit and healthy (surgery or not). If you fall off the wagon at a meal, or for a day, know that that happens sometimes, and its OKAY. Dust yourself off, and pick up at the next meal to make a better decision and choice. Try parking a little further out from work/store/school etc. Try walking around the yard/block/neighborhood. Start small, and work your way up... Before surgery I could only walk about .5 miles at like .7mph on the treadmill, I started a few months before surgery making SMALL changes like parking further out, walking around the parking lot at work on my break or lunch, and just before surgery I was up to about 2.5mph and 1.5-2miles a day. Take it step by step, and bite by bite. You WILL succeed at this if you can just take it one moment at a time. This forum is a great source of support and I wish you the best in your journey, and remember that you are doing this for YOU!!! <hugs>
  20. Congrats on your surgery approval! Good luck!
  21. Very nice recipe. Sounds delish! Thanks so much for posting this. Going to have to try this for sure.
  22. Hi!

Hi Erin, I am recently sleeved (Dec 5), and like you considered the same 2 surgeries as you. I did not want to have the band, as it would not solve the hunger issues or help with the binge eating for me. Also, I was not down with having to go and get the band filled/let out etc for the rest of my life, and possible slipping of the band after time, and scar tissue. I knew the risks of having up to 85% of my stomach out, and decided that even through the risks. I cannot make the decision for you, only suggest that you definitely do your research on each one, and maybe make a list of the pro's and cons of each, and compare and talk with your family, and your doctors about each, and your own personal struggles. Wishing you the best in your decision. This forum has been a great source of information and support for me. If you have any questions, you can send me a message and I'll be happy to answer! Best of luck. -Cassie

I was also sleeved Dec 5th, and had many of the same worries that you do. I have found that I don't miss soda and such, now, I am able to take a decent swallow of clear fluids with no problems. I am on pureed/soft foods, and have tried many many things. If you are following what the doctor/NUT recommends and chew, chew, chew, I have found in my experience that I don't 'need' a drink with my food because my mouth has moistened it plenty to swallow...it wasn't easy the first two weeks to remember to stop drinking so I could actually try full liquids, but now I think I'm close to having the hang of that. It gets easier once you get further out and start listening to your body...which is definitely a part that I had turned off when binging... My doctor is a 'balanced' diet type, and only advises to get protein first, then veggies then carbs, and I find when I do that, I almost never have room for the carbs, and not always veggies even at this far out (2 oz at a time doesn't leave for much). It DOES get easier!!!! Keep your head up, your fears are totally normal at this stage, but it does eventually turn out just fine. Hugs and you will rock your sleeve!
