Vacay question
I travel on weekends alot and what works for me is a small cooler packed with some essentials, greek yogurt, cheesesticks, chicken breast chunks (I don't mind it cold) and then I have recently become addicted to Cocoa dusted almonds, that are great and have some protein, also boiled eggs are good if you like them, hope it helps and enjoy your vacay!

almost 5mo update :)
Congrats! I was thinking of some form of martial art training. I've always wanted to but of course thought, oh you're just too big, but already not as big as I was and I want to adopt a more active lifestyle. My hubby is a sleever now also as of a week ago and he is talking about going to a MMA gym.

Just hang on! You can do this! We here on this site believe in you! It will happen just take a deep breath and calm down. If you need to, have a little crying party, I did at about 2 weeks out and the emotional roller coaster is part of it. But you will get through this

creamy soups/blendarized soups post op day 5
try a cup warmer for the soups, I also set my little saucer on it with my regular food, keeps it warm without having to get up and down and reheat repeatedly, and they are usually only about $10 bucks

Really disgusted
I was shocked that one of my friends who I thought would be the most supportive just went off on me about this was the complete wrong decision and I must be crazy, so don't feel bad not just your friends. I now take it all in stride. I made this decision for me no one else, and if they really get bitchy (like my friend) I point out that the risks of the surgery are alot smaller than me remaining the size I am. I also point out that I'm not stupid, I didn't just wake up one more drive to the hospital and tell them to cut me open..lol...I researched and spent alot of time soul searching and then of course the 3 months of insurance requirements. I think people assume they know about these surgeries when in fact they don't. Just follow your path! Don't let them get you down, and if all else fails, just tell me to shut the h*ll up!

Shrimp Fried Rice!
I had some beef broccoli in garlic sauce last weekend and it was so good! Like you I only had just a little, maybe 1/2 c. but it was worth the splurge...although eating spicy food and not drinking is a different experience

need more food
Well, my doctor told me that I needed to try to get my calories up to at least 800 a day. I'm 6 weeks post op and averaging about 600. He said he would like me to get to 1000. He said it's healthier and as I'm exercising more, it will keep me out of starvation mode and help me actually lose weight faster. The problem? Where to put more food? I don't seem to be able to get my calories higher, when I'm not eating, I'm drinking water and just can't seem to fit anything else. Any ideas or suggestions?

Only losing 50 pounds in 7 months, is that too little of a weight loss?
I have PCOS also I was wondering if it was going to affect my weight loss, I know my gyno told me that us PCOSers have bodies that are designed to hold onto fat..lol

Only losing 50 pounds in 7 months, is that too little of a weight loss?
I am 6 weeks out and down 24 pounds but 12 of that was the first week! So I feel the same way like I'm going no where fast. My doc actually told me to try to get my calories to between 1000-1200 a day and never lower than 800 because going lower puts you in starvation mode. Also, he pointed out that the more you exercise the more muscle you build and it weighs more than fat. I have noticed even if the scale isn't moving much that my clothes are fitting better and I have alot more energy. Do you measure yourself, sometimes even if the number isn't moving that will show progress. Keep your chin up some of us may be slower losers but we will get there!
