I was told that by 3 months it will be safe but to exercise caution because sometimes the size of pills or capsules can irritate the stomach. By 6 months you should be in the clear.

I took mine at hospital.

I had my first post-op visit with my surgeon last Thurs. That was one of my questions. He said I could start taking my regular vitamins now. He did say that I can only swallow something the size of a plain m&m or smaller. So I have been cutting most of them in half and they need to be spaced a few minutes apart. Needless to say, it takes me 1/2 an hour to take all the pills! I would check with your surgeon because they are all different. Good luck to you! :)

I haven't heard back from the nurse so I posted here. I NEED to take Colace & I can't stomach the liquid crap!

Thanks so much!

-Molly

Molly I just looked at your surgery date. If your colace is the same capusle that I am thinking of it should be safe to take it, but remember you are still early out and it may not "pop" inside your stomach in time for it to activate. Go to a drugstore and get some miralax and mix it with some flavored crystal light.

THX, Kulita....I'll try that!

How much should I take? Reg. dose or child dose?

Take a regular dose because you should have an adult sized colon right?

Note.. Some pills are made to be taken whole. Some specifically say do not cut or crush. Check with your dr
