  1. 15 hours a day sleeping! sounds like depression and not the sleeve. Is it possible you can get an eval for depression and possible treatment? I am 6 weeks out and flip flop about the sleeve, I wish I could eat like I used to on the other hand the weight is coming off and I feel better. I had the sleeve done right before my 66th birthday. I have no kids, no husband and no siblings. My friends were terrific. I think you may need to start getting new friends, because I know from what I have heard in programs like AA that when you get sober your drinking buddies all run away. Your former friends may have liked the old fat you. When you feel able to get out of bed try and make some new friends. Does your hospital have a WLS support group?
  2. hitting is good ( a pillow) screaming is good (alone in your car with the windows rolled up) Next time you are mad at your brother why not imagine shoving chicken mcnuggets down his throat!

It has been a very up and down journey for me...the surgeon was great, no probs, what freaked me out was how little food it took to feel overly full. I had one bad dumping experience and realized that I will take all the time I need to go from one food group to the next...It is hard to get all the protein and fluids in but if you can you will see results on the scale..I was sleeved Oct 15th
  4. Glad you heard back but make sure they know all themeds you are on which could possibly cause clotting probs. You might want to get second lab tests or talk to a hemotologist
  5. I am on quite a bit of "head meds" and have been for a dozen years. My WLS doctor told me to take them all up to the night before the surgery and that it was essential I take a xanax the morning of the surgery with a small sip of water...Yes anxiety is normal but a Dr who thinks a patient should quickly detox from psychiatric meds does not know what he is talking about. Coming off those meds too quickly could have VERY severe effects. Don't mean to scare you but question it.
  6. That is why I opted out of Thanksgiving this year. Usually I go to New Jersey to see my cousins, a good friend invited me to T. dinner at her country club, a guy from the fire department asked me to join his family. I was so greatful for their good will but I knew I would be stressed and miserable so I sat home watched TV and conditioned my hair...There will be many other Thanksgivings....
  7. Not bad....The docs were good about pain meds given every four hours, took some codeine when I got home but nothing after two nights. A month before I tore the ligaments in my knee and had surgery. That was a 10 on the pain scale, the WLS was maybe a 4.
  8. Just woke up after the cauliflower dumping episode yesterday. I feel like I was run over by a truck. I think everything finally went down or came up but what a day and night...scared the heck out of me. I went through a day of hating myself for not realizing that eating a cup of cauliflower really fast was not the same as trying a nibble of a new food and waiting a bit. I am scared of having a repeat of this event, I seem to be having a hard time moving from puree to soft foods, anyone else stuck at this stage, any advice?????
  9. OK, I am four weeks out and I have been doing well and today after a cup of soup I ate a full cup of cooked cauliflower...fast. About 15 minutes later I started slimeing and foaming and vomiting up mouthfuls of cauliflower. This went on for another hour when I started really feeling awful and fidgety and finally vomited the rest of the cauliflower, I think my pouch was empty. It was very very scary, I knew I was having a panic attack in addition to having really eaten stupidly. Feeling better now, will never eat cauliflower again, has anyone else had this happen.
