Omg - Dumping Sucks Big Time

Today I had my first dumping experience. I decided to try and new protein shot, I normally use the Body Fortress 26 g shot and this time I decided to use New Whey liquid protein 42 g grape, I only drank half. I was driving home and I had to pull over into a parking lot until I was well enough to drive the rest of the way home. It started with feeling hot and sweating, then I started to have stomach cramps and dry heaving. I had to turn on the A/C on full blast and I fell asleep for about 15 - 20 mins. Once I felt okay to get back on the road, I went straight home. It started to happen again by the time I got home and then I started to have stomach issues. I was so tired after this, I had to take a long nap to get myself together. I had a lapband for 5 yrs and had never have had this type of experience, Ive had my sleeve for 16 days and all I can say is Lord i hope this doesnt happen to be again Lol.

LAP-BAND Patients

I had this happen to me twice, first time with a liquid vitamin... same experience with the hot/sweaty followed by dry heaves and then diarrhea. The 2nd time was with peanut butter. Good thing that was early on and I haven't had a problem since. But, it did take a good long time before I had peanut butter again!

I know exactly what you mean. I never knew with the sleeve dumping occured. I am so glad I experienced it because I was a sweet eater and now I can't sugar or sugar products...

Good luck and try sugar free products and water down any flavored drinks you are going to have it helps a lot....

I've never had that - but I have eaten too fast or too much or not chewed enough and had it has come right back up. I've thrown up rice and broccoli so far. I've eaten them since, but I try to go slower , chew better and not eat so much.

OK, I am four weeks out and I have been doing well and today after a cup of soup I ate a full cup of cooked cauliflower...fast. About 15 minutes later I started slimeing and foaming and vomiting up mouthfuls of cauliflower. This went on for another hour when I started really feeling awful and fidgety and finally vomited the rest of the cauliflower, I think my pouch was empty. It was very very scary, I knew I was having a panic attack in addition to having really eaten stupidly. Feeling better now, will never eat cauliflower again, has anyone else had this happen.

I think those power shots are sugar free......I have some...they taste sweet but they havent any real sugar...I would call your doctor.....sleeping on the side of the road is not a good thing. Hope you slept rather than passed out. sounds weird.....

Gastric Sleeve Patients

Just woke up after the cauliflower dumping episode yesterday. I feel like I was run over by a truck. I think everything finally went down or came up but what a day and night...scared the heck out of me. I went through a day of hating myself for not realizing that eating a cup of cauliflower really fast was not the same as trying a nibble of a new food and waiting a bit. I am scared of having a repeat of this event, I seem to be having a hard time moving from puree to soft foods, anyone else stuck at this stage, any advice?????
