  1. Thanks! I haven't been this small in over ten years!
  2. I can't believe it. I had surgery in March. I'm so happy. This is just mind blowing!
  3. I put PB2, Greek yogurt and splenda together and put in Chia seeds.
  4. Thanks! I'm just enjoying this process so much. I feel like I should do a commercial for the sleeve.
  5. I had beyond a stressful day today. Usually I would want to eat to make my nerves calm down, distract myself, or I would be so out of it that I would just mindlessly eat more than I should. Instead I found that I had to remind myself to eat, and I just didn't feel like eating much. I was too busy. I'm so glad that I'm seeing these major changes. It seems like my whole relationship with food has changed. But also I think I handle stress in general much better now. I don't know if it's the confidence? I know now that I'm worth it. I'm worth protecting, I'm worth defending. I am worth it. I also see how sometimes when you don't get exactly the answer you wanted, you still win. You still went through the process and showed people that you are going to stand up for yourself and not back down. And I think for many of us the decision to have the surgery and to get the insurance approval and jump through all the hoops is like that. It's a battle of constantly rethinking whether you are worth going to so much trouble and spending the money and time. If anyone is still trying to decide I just have to tell them that they are worth it!
  6. Has this happened to anyone? I had to sit on a bench today for a while and when I stood up I couldn't feel my foot! My whole leg was asleep. I can't remember if I had my legs crossed? This hasn't happened to me in maybe fifteen years. Is that a coincidence or is it because I have less cushion in the back so the nerves get compressed on a hard surface? It was kind of scary!
  7. You are a pretzel!
  8. Sorry to hear it Melodica. I wish I hadn't been so nervous pre op, but I don't think there's a way to change that. It helped me lose more weight too. food funerals and getting the last bits of unhealthy things does nothing. My tastes have changed so much I don't crave anything or miss anything.
  9. You will find every surgeon and nutrition ist are different, which sometimes feels crazy. But the thing is, if you do your research and then trust your surgeon, you need to really trust them and believe that their way is the way to go. Personally I don't drink with meals because I don't have enough room for food then. I sometimes take a sip just to wet my whistle but no real drinks. Three meals a day is ideal but for me, I wouldn't be able to get in all my Protein that way. I track everything that I eat and drink and know how many grams of protein and how many calories I eat every single day. My nutritionist said to just track protein and if you reach that goal you won't have room for other things. I personally avoid sugar, fried food, high carb food and I haven't had a soda since weeks before surgery. My surgeon is ok with coffee. Its the only way I can get through the day sometimes! I can't say I miss any food. I have had a tiny bite like once a week of something "bad", just to taste it. And I'm fine. I don't feel like eating a ton of it or feel like I'm missing out. I waste a lot of food going out to eat and take a it of left overs home. Alcohol is high in calories and can hurt your stomach, lower your inhibitions so you eat poorly, and it hits you a lot faster. It can also lead to a transfer of addiction from food to drinking. So surgeons really don't want us to drink.
  10. Oh that's so great to hear! I have to say I really appreciate these people telling their stories in public. And not even telling their stories but letting us see so many private moments. It has to be hard to be so exposed like that. I hope that they are able to help a lot of people.
  11. I keep thinking "oh they are getting a car. Wait, no."
  12. Well Im attached but I wish you luck! Great idea.
  13. Good to know this won't last forever! I just don't like skirts yet. I still feel like my calves are huge and pasty. But for some reason I feel ok in capris.
  14. I can't answer the part about flying but the anxiety is completely normal. I lost four pounds before the pre op diet because my stomach was so upset I could hardly eat. It is a major decision, a major change. You will do great. I am three months out and I just wish I had done this sooner! I am so grateful for the surgery.
  15. I'm in size 16 now but the butt is baggy. The rest of me isn't small enough to fit into a smaller size. I'm hoping this is just temporary and the waist area will start to follow because I really don't want to have to be a baggy butt forever!
  16. It's happening here. H has lost over five pounds just from eating less. He is already skinny but had a little tummy which is almost all gone now. I think it's eye opening for a lot of people at least in the US to see how little food we actually need to thrive. His portion sizes have gone way down.
  17. Beautiful! You had such nice clothes before and now after too!
  18. Recently I mixed an avocado with Greek yogurt, garlic, salt and pepper, and some salsa. I put some on a turkey burger, (without a bun),it was so good.
  19. Is it just me or does the Dr's office look like it used to be a car dealership from the outside? I just watched the one with the woman who keeps changing her hair color. Very hard to watch her going through the drive through, saying she can't find any food to eat that the Dr would approve of and then gaining weight. But so great to see her turn it around!
  20. I'm a sleever. I have lost 72 pounds since the month before surgery. I think I might have worried about every aspect of surgery I possibly could. I can't speak for band, but my sleeve is wonderful. Honestly there have only been two times when I was triggered and felt like my old habits wanted to come back. The last was at a social situation, and I felt like I wanted to eat a ton just to fight social anxiety and have something to do. But instead I put healthy food on my plate, ate my cup of food and got up and did something else. Because I physically couldn't eat more or I would be in intense pain. I also realized it wasn't worth sabotaging my progress. I looked at some desert and it looked good but it also looked like failing. So I had a tiny bite of something and that was it. Sugary rich food makes me feel sick now. So I don't even crave it. The same thing with greasy and fried food. I have had one French fry or two cheetos here and there. I just want a taste of it and then I'm done. Every time I get on the scale and see another pound gone I'm amazed that this is happening. And then I'm sad that I wasted a lot of years. You can do this!
  21. I'm going to say 32 just because you remind me of a bunch of women I work with who are that age and have a similar style. But your skin looks a lot younger. Early twenties.
  22. I'm wearing size 16 capris with no muffin top!
  23. I was very nervous prior to surgery. It's ok, you are having major surgery and making a life changing decision. My coping mechanism the few days before surgery was thinking they wouldn't be able to do it or my insurance would suddenly deny me out of the blue. I lost four pounds in one week prior to the pre op diet because my stomach was so flippy and acidic I could barely eat.
  24. Today I put on a shirt that I haven't worn in a few weeks. The band at the bottom of the short sleeves is suddenly loose. It used to be tight!
