Yeah. I think after 10 pages it can be summarised as-
1. People have some valid reasons to not tell who they don't want to tell.
2. People have some valid reasons to tell everyone.
3. People really have difficulty with people not agreeing with their opinion.
I think it's item 3. that has really driven this topic.

I can't believe that either. Especially the sexual innuendos that some MARRIED people make and even those who claim to be in a relationship! My bf would not be happy if I was doing that and I wouldn't be happy if he was.
Guess their lives aren't as exciting as getting their freaky talking online is.

That's not my frame of thinking lol I could careless if someone feels that I "took the easy way out" or that other things ppl say. They are naysayers and they can still sing that same song while while I become a healthier, smaller me.

I had surgery 1/14/2013. When i was apporved for surgery it was one of the happiest days in my life. I am very open about having the surgery. I tell everyone the benifits of having it. I even tell the skinny people because they might know a "fat person" and can encourage them to look in to the surgery. Some people are scared and don't know anyone that have had surgery.
I know to some it is private, but in a way I feel you are being selfish not to share something that can change someones life.
I understand people can be very judgemental. Just think maybe you can change one persons life. Maybe you can save one persons life. Just because you were open and honest about something that changed your life.

Rather amusing I must say, a nurse (I.e. NA, CNA, RN), who knows what her credentials are, is trying to provide a psychological perspective to the opinion that you provided... a field she has not been formally educated in.

When I lived in HI, I had a neighbor who weighed approximately 280 pounds, judging by her appearance. I had not seen her in maybe 4/5 months, but when I did....boy did she look good! She had shredded her fat cocoon and was now rocking a much smaller body..probably size 12/14. Now me, being the lifetime dieter that I am, just had to know what diet she was on that caused her to lose so much weight so fast. Now I was pretty ignorant when it came to the wls, so this was not the first thing that had come to mind. So after complimenting her weight loss and engaging in some petty conversation, I asked her what did she do to get her weight off. Her response....wait for it....wait for it...wait for it...her response was Water AEROBICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck? Was all I was thinking after she responded with that. Did she really believe that I would believe what she had just told me?
Why lie about having weight loss surgery, especially to someone that is going through the same struggle that you once went through? We should not be ashamed to announce to those who want to attain a better health the tools that we have used to achieve that.
Have any of you lied to someone about having surgery, if so, why? I understand that it is your personal decision to share whatever information with whomever you wish.

You humor and amaze me. Unlike you I don't let anyone or anything "rub me the wrong way" that takes too much energy. Seems to me you just seek me out to contradict my opinion. If you think my posts have the ring of superiority, that's your opinion, don't read them. Personally, if I don't like someone I ignore them, you are welcome to do that. I know who I am and what I am and I don't worry about what you or anyone else thinks of me, I'm entitled to my opinions and thoughts and I'm going to keep voicing them. I will do that. I think I find the broth so unappetizing because it was the last thing I ate before the magnesium citrate the night before surgery. That stuff made me so nauseous and I have a tendency to have to write off for awhile any food that makes me sick. Sometimes for a long while. I haven't been able to drink vodka since an unfortunate experience at the Rose Parade in 1983.

Just enjoyed a really great bowl of Tomato Soup. I did have to reheat it a few times as I eat really slow... Practicing and scared of gulping it down, but I must say the flavors were delicious. First time I truly able to taste food, since I'd spent a lifetime of mindless eating.

costco sells a 4 pack of cartons of an awesome organic red pepper and Tomato soup.Brand is Pacific. Only 110 cals a cup and 2 grams of fat, and 5 grams of protein!. Feels like a cheat everytime I have a cup!

Mexican food ANYWHERE IN TEXAS!!!! East to west, north to south and everywhere in between. We've cornered the market on Mexican food, AKA TexMex round these parts!
