  1. Does your current weight still put you in the overweight/obese area of the BMI chart? He may be wanting you to get your BMI down to the normal range is all. If you're happy with where you are, then don't worry about what he wants. It's not like he can force you to do it. Enjoy your sleeve.
  2. Don't you have a regular Dr. that you'd go see. They should have an intake form with your weight for ea. visit, which they can then figure out your bmi from. I had to call 2 different Dr's offices for my intake forms, and then faxed them to the surgeon's office. I was approved within 48 hrs.
  3. I'm 2 weeks out and can only eat 1/4c. of anything. I just saw my nutritionist on monday who said by 3 months out you should be able to eat 1/2c., and by a year out you should be at 1c....and then that's the limit. Maybe you should measure and stick with that....don't want to stretch it out too soon.

I can relate to everything you were saying. I am a carbaholic and knew I'd never lose the weight on my own, considering I've been trying for 10+ years without the scale moving. I was sleeved exactly 2 weeks ago today, and as of Monday, 12 days post-op I was 15 lbs. down and 7" smaller. I already sleep better, have no numbness upon waking and my clothes are much looser. I'm loving my sleeve, and I'm sure you will to. The hassle you have to go through to get it, and the pain and liquid diet following are a pain, but are well worth it. Just keep your eyes on the prize and you'll be fine. Good luck on your journey to a new you!
  5. Might have a urinary tract infection if you had a catheter...go see your regular MD.
  6. I got the go ahead to start most regular foods yesterday, but was told to eat every 3 hrs. to keep my metabolism going, so I downloaded a timer on my phone to go off every 3 hrs. so I can go grab my 1/4c. meal/snack. I'm more worried about getting in my 48-64oz. of water between all of that though. Good luck and enjoy!
  7. Happy New Year....it gets better. Good luck!
  8. I was told riding a bike, walking or swimming only. No strenuous exercises until 3 months out, your staple line takes 8 weeks to heal over....don't want to create a leak. But every Dr. has their own rules, so I'd ask them.
  9. I am 12 days out and have not been hungry since the surgery; I'm merely eating/drinking to survive. As far as head hunger, that is up to you. I haven't had any problems with it; I watched everyone scarf on xmas day and I've gone to a restaurant with family and ate my 1/4c. of soup while they got so full they felt sick. I'm loving my sleeve, and I'm down 15 lbs. and have lost 7" already.
  10. I've read some posts where they were required to do it for 1 month pre-op. If you can do it now, I'd go for it.
  11. Thanks for the info. I'm almost 2 weeks out and am looking forward to getting my workout on.
  12. Hi all. Just wanted to say I'm loving my sleeve. I'm only 12 days out but have lost 14 lbs. and 7" total already! I'm so excited and know I will reach goal. I also bought me a recumbent stationary bike and tube bands to workout my arms while pedaling so I can work out at home when the weather doesn't want to cooperate....which seems to be quite often here lately. Here's to a great 2013!!
  13. Your body is probably playing catch up. Check your measurements, when you're not losing weight your body is probably losing inches.
  14. Go into "Edit Profile" go down to preferences and change "Net Calorie Goal"
  15. But you are doing it on your own, the sleeve is only a tool and you can gain weight back later if you're not careful. And who cares what they think or say anyway? You did this for you and for your own reasons, and if they can be supportive, then screw em. You shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed about doing something to help you live a better life. Keep your head up and flaunt it when you got it
  16. That's an amazing difference in just 6 weeks. I'm not quite 2 weeks out and hope to see the same. Congrats!!
  17. You CAN have NSAIDS after sleeve, that is the reason I chose it because I have slipped disks in my back and when they get irritated and I get sciatic pain I have to have them. They just prefer you wait as long as possible....over 6 months, before using. ..
  18. I was sleeved on the 19th and am around 300-500 calories; I drink my 30g. protein shake for one meal, a 23g. protein shake for the other then have mashed potatoes, or soup, or an egg. Still not getting in 64 oz. of liquid a day though. Follow up with my nut on the 31st, gonna get all the number's I should be getting....including fat, sugar, carbs, etc....
  19. I see my nut on the 31st. I get pain and burp when I'm full, that is my tell....and maybe yours to. Congrats on the 20 lbs. weight loss! Enjoy your manicotti, slowly
  20. seach shake recipes, you will find many. Good luck!
  21. Good luck and hope you have a quick and smooth recovery.
  22. Congrats! I was sleeved on 12/19 and I hope I can lose 60 lbs. in 3 months to....we're about the same starting weight. Got any tips?
  23. I was sleeved on the 19th as well and left on full liquids. If jello is easy on your tummy, eat it up...it melts like a liquid and would count as it as well. Good luck!
  24. Try dropping your calories to 500 a couple times a week; it should shock your system back into burning fat. Your body will get used to what you are doing and needs a wake-up. Good luck!
