  1. I am also a week out and I drink about 4 oz. an hour, and I'm just now getting to a full 64 oz. of liquid in a day. I just drink water, and then of course my protein drinks, which is about 19 oz. for the 2.
  2. Robe, socks, chapstick, gas-x strips, cell phone .....you will sleep most of the time you're in there, when you're not walking and sipping that is. Good luck!!
  3. You look great! Keep up the good work. Maybe fluctuate your carb intake, high one day very low the next...I've heard that jump starts it again. Good luck!
  4. Congratulations and good luck. It's great being on the looser's bench.
  5. Wow, that is awesome. As for working out, why not use your children to help. You can play (workout) with them, like doing grab them by their ankles and do arm curls, or airplane rides to work the arms; put your feet on their chests and lift them up in the air and do reverse squats, things like that. I always loved playing with my daughter when she was little, cause I always got a workout with it. Good luck!!
  6. Hi rainbows, congrats on your sleeve. You can take gas-x, and try rolling your shoulders back and forth if the pain is in your chest/back/arms, and rub your belly gently in circles, it helps move the gas around to get it out.
  7. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great. And just remember, if you start getting down.....remember what you did it for and that it will get better. The first few weeks are the toughest.
  8. Hi Freja, if you are on full liquids you can add fruit to your shakes, just make sure they blend well and chew up any chunks well before you swallow. For meals try this website, not sure if you've heard of it before. It's by a lady that had gastric bypass years ago and has a ton of great recipes. You should be able to find plenty of ideas on there for dinner. Good luck!! http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
  9. Good luck. Just remember to keep your eye on the prize. The stuff that bothers you in the first couple weeks, won't bother you later....and it's worth the wait!
  10. Hang in there, it'll be worth it. I only had to do it for 1 day, and I to can't imagine how others have done it for a week or longer. I was starving when I went in for surgery, but haven't been hungry since
  11. Welcome. This is a great place for support and to get information. Good luck on your journey!
  12. Everyone has their own tell when they are getting full. Some people sneeze, some burp (me) and others get pain in their sternum. Just watch for your sign, something you notice and then you'll know when to stop.
  13. Sounds like gas pain and it's just referring up to your shoulder. Massage your stomach after you eat, see if that helps any. Are you on a antacid like prevacid or something? That should keep the gas down also.
  14. I think they call that the slimes. Just don't get so full next time
  15. I'm only a week out and have had a few bites of mashed potatoes, and a few bites of pintos and cheese from taco bell and didn't have any problems. Are you taking very small bites and waiting a few minutes between each one? Maybe you still have a bit of swelling in there that is causing the "stuck" feeling. I'm sure it will resolve, and don't regret it....it'll be worth it.
  16. I haven't heard anyone regretting it. They may the first few weeks if they've had issues or when they're going through the different food stages, but once that's over it's all good. It's not easy, but it's worth it in the end. Just have to stay focused on the final outcome.
  17. Bummer! Those swabs didn't do squat for me.
  18. Hi Christie, welcome. The only thing I'd take to the hospital is a robe, socks and gas-x. As far as limitations, you may want someone with you the first day or 2 just because it can be hard to sit/stand due to the incisions, I was told no lifting over 5 lbs. and limited bending/twisting for 3 weeks post-op. So if I drop something or whatever, I'd do a squat and work my legs As far as tips, if you have gas pain in your shoulders, back roll your shoulders back and forth and squeeze them together, it really helped relieve it alot. I also rubbed my stomach in circles, lightly, just to help move the gas around. I honestly didn't have any pain after surgery and didn't require any pain meds at all, the worst part for me was the dry mouth. I asked for a cup of ice water w/ an empty cup so I could swish it around my mouth and spit it out and promised I wouldn't swallow any of it, and they let me, which was awesome. Other than that's, it's been a breeze. Just trying to get all my protein and liquids in. I'm one week out today and am down 10 lbs. Good luck!!
  19. My mouth was sooo dry. I asked for ice water and an extra cup so I could swuish it in my mouth and spit it out; they let me as long as I promised not to swallow any.
  20. Just breath, you will be fine. Only thing you need is a robe, socks, gas-x. I was starving when I went in, but I"m never hungry now and it's liberating. Good luck and just keep your eye on the prize!
  21. They only say no sugar due to the extra calories it brings. From what I hear, you can pretty much eat and drink anything your stomach can tolerate. Just be careful, or you will gain!
  22. Congrats! You're gonna love it...I know I do and I'm only a week out.
  23. Hi Kara, we have very close stats, except I'm 41. lol I was sleeved on 12/19 and am so happy I did. I have no hunger and am down 10 lbs. already. Good luck on your journey...keep us informed of how you're doing.
  24. Hi ShyV, I am also down 10 lbs., just remember the slower you lose the less saggy skin you'll have after. Also, I hope you took your measurements, cause when we hit our stalls our bodies will adjust in inches. I have no regrets, and haven't been hungry at all since the day of. Even breezed through Christmas.
  25. Good luck. Just keep your eye on the prize and remember all the pain in the butt stuff only lasts a few days
