1 week post op- Dec 19th sleevers!

Recommended Posts

We made it to 1 week post op!!!!! How are you feeling?

I am feeling much better today and getting ready to go out to the park for a walk. Haven't done exercise at all since surgery. I have to say yesterday and today I've felt no hunger at all compared to the previous days. I am barely drinking liquids - REALLY BAD I know. I am working on that today.

Numbers aren't so impressive like I've seen on others but its more then I've done on my own since forever.

Weight went I started pre-op diet - 224

Surgery day - 218

Today - 208

I'm a bit disappointed that I don't see the weight loss in my body. I still fit in my cloth the same. I even see my stomach area bigger then before :-(

10 pounds in one week is awesome! Don't sell yourself short. liquids to prevent dehydration is the most important thing to focus on. Stay upbeat.... :-)

Hi ShyV, I am also down 10 lbs., just remember the slower you lose the less saggy skin you'll have after. Also, I hope you took your measurements, cause when we hit our stalls our bodies will adjust in inches. I have no regrets, and haven't been hungry at all since the day of. Even breezed through Christmas.

OMG thanks for reminding me about measurements. I haven't thought about that.

Xmas eve was horrible for me. I barely left my room. the 4th and 5th day after surgery was when I felt crazy hungry.

I had my sleeve done on 12/20 and I'm down little over 6#. I am trilled. There are so many people that lose a lot the first week, that it makes us slow losers feel bad. However, fast losers will slow down and the slow losers will stay steady and strong, maybe even pick it up. I think 10# is GREAT! I have had an issue getting all of my Protein in. I have set an alarm to go off every 15 min to remind me to drink. It seems to help. Good luck and congrats!

Hi! I'm a Dec. 19th sleever, too! Feeling so much better. I'm down 9# and couldn't tell by the way my jeans were fitting. I think our abdomens are still a bit swollen. Congrats to you on your 10! Headed to my doc for my post-op visit and then a few errands.

Hi ShyV,

I'm a fellow 19th sleever. Do you know when you will be able to go beyond Clear Liquids? I had a hiatal hernia repair also. I am getting sick of 3 weeks of nothing but Clear Liquids. Don't go for checkup until tomorrow. Thanks!

Hi wlq!

While at the doc' date=' If you can ask about the abdomen swelling that would be great ![/quote']

I didn't see this until today. He looked at my tummy and my incisions and he said I was making good progress. My swelling is down now, but I still feel some soreness around my incisions...not a lot though.

How's everyone doing? I'm going back to work next week and I'm feeling great. My son has been asking me to go to the gym for a couple days, so I'm headed there this morning just for the treadmill. ????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
