  1. I kept all mine on, just make sure you have clear polish. They just need to be able to see the color in underneath.
  2. So I'm 9 weeks post-op and haven't had any problems eating anything i've tried. The problem is, It seems like all I eat is chicken, eggs, ham/cheese rolls, shrimp or meatballs. I'm bored with all these but can't think of anything else to eat that will get me the protein i need without having to drink 2 shakes a day. I don't like fish, other than shrimp, and I was told not to eat tough meats or vegetables until I'm 12 weeks out. I'm still only allowed 40g of carbs a day, so that also restricts alot of what I can eat. Anybody got any good recipes or ideas to help me mix it up a bit? Thanks for the help.
  3. Egg salad, meatballs, omelets, seven layer dip
  4. I'd call tomorrow, if it's still pending I'd ask why and make sure they have received ALL the paperwork. I was approved in 2 days, so not sure why it'd take more than a week....although I guess it depends on your insurance company. Good luck!

    I agree. Thanks for sharing.
  6. I wouldn't recommend it; I was told not to have more than a baby spoon of rice because it expands in your stomach. So if you eat until you're full, then it expands...you vomit! So if you try it, good luck!
  7. Congrats and good luck. Just stay focused on the end result to get thru the rough times and remember, it gets easier and better everyday!
  8. **** luck. Wishing you a quick and smooth recovery. Remember one thing, every day gets a little better so don't sweat the small stuff. It'll be worth it in the end
  9. My nut told me not to worry about fat grams, just to focus on getting 700 calories, less than 40g. carbs, 50+ protein a day, and 64+ oz. of fluid not counting protein shakes. I'm 5 weeks out and can eat anything other than breads, veggies, fruits, and strinky/tough foods.
  10. I wish they carried the strawberry to; I might ask them if they can order me a case of it. I'd get it off the website but with S&H it's ridiculous. I'll just add berries to the vanilla. 2tsp. of lemon pudding in the vanilla is AWESOME!
  11. I'd wait a day or 2 then call your insurance company...otherwise you might be waiting awhile for the surgeon's office to get back to you. I had my approval within 48 hours. Good luck!
  12. Good luck. Wishing you a quick and smooth recovery.
  13. Good luck, hope you have a quick and smooth recovery. Welcome to the loser's bench!
  14. FAB-YOU-LOUS!! You both look great, and so happy. It must have been a great journey to go through it with the one you love. Congrats! What an inspiration.
  15. My husband was pretty much the same way. But in the end he was just worried about me dying on the table. Now that it's done, he has actually began to watch his own diet better. Your wife won't need to plan meals much, at least not for you, because you probably won't be hungry post-op and when you are you will need to focus on protein first. Once you are able to eat regular foods again, you can eat whatever you want, just only a few bites. I told my hubby he was on his own for dinners until I could eat more and then I'd start cooking again. He was ok with that....so maybe tell your wife not to worry about it creating more work for her, cause if anything it'll be alot less.
  16. Congrats. Wishing you a quick and smooth recovery. Just remember, it gets easier and better everyday. Focus on the reasons you chose to do this and what your goals are....they will happen.
  17. I used my ketosis breath as a weapon; when my husband was being a smartass I'd threaten to breath on him. LMAO
  18. Congrats on your upcoming sleeve. Here is a couple websites that have great, easy recipes for all stages. The mini-muffins are the perfect size for our new tummies. I'm almost 6 weeks out and can eat 3 of them. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ & http://www.emilybites.com/
  19. I wasn't and haven't been weepy, but I can tell my hormones are all out of whack cause I am one cranky/snappy b***h lately (TOM); hoping they equal out or whatever they do soon....as does my hubby I'm sure. Hang in there!
  20. Look at it as an average weekly loss, so you've lost an average of 4 lbs. a week, which is good. Anything over 2 lbs. a week is a good steady pace, so don't get too down on yourself. It'll come off. I stalled at between my 4th and 5th week so my loss wasn't what I was hoping either, but I've never lost this much and kept it off in the past, so I'm happy!
  21. Can you up your carbs to where you start gaining and then hold it there? That is what I worry about to, my Dr. wants me at 150 but honestly I think I'd look sickly at that weight. I'd be happy with 180.
  22. My surgeon said no lifting over 5 lbs. for 3 weeks, you don't want to cause a leak. He told the lady in my class that her grandchild would have to "crawl" up on her or be put on her lap, which she wasn't to thrilled about.
  23. Take some gas-x, walk as much as you can, try a heating pad, and roll your shoulders back and forth, squeeze your shoulder blades together for a few seconds and release, gently rub circles on your belly to help move it around, and stretch as much as is comfortable. It gets better so don't let it get to ya.
  24. I'd ask yourself how many times you've lost weight just to gain it all back plus some. I to was overweight, basically stuck at the same weight, for 10+ years and lost/gained the same 20 lbs. ...too bad I need to lose 120 lbs. If you think you can do it on your own, then why haven't you done it already? If you think you can do it on you own, and maintain the weight loss...then do the weight management. I myself knew I'd end up gaining it all back in the end, cause I'm a carboholic....so I had the sleeve done. Now I don't even want carbs and I know the weight I lose will be gone forever. Whatever you choose, I wish you well. Do what is right for you and feel good about it.
  25. Congrats and I hope everything goes well with this one. It's hard to find a good one these days, so good luck.
