  1. I have lost 56 pounds since surgery plus 6 before surgery total of 62 pounds. I have not lost as much in the waist ( belly ) or hips as I have everywhere else. I have lost alot in arms, butt, legs, face, shoulders every where but hips and stomach ( wast ) area
  2. I was a Dr Pepper and sweet eater before surgery. Since surgery I have found myself eating peanut butter, but only peter pan honey roasted smooth. I didnt eat that before surgery. I have also found myself eating potato soup from Sam's Club it has chives in it. I never eat chives. I have always been a picky eater. Also fish I could eat fish all the time.
  3. I think it is suppose to mean women's not wide. I have always been told it meant women's even when I worked in retail.
  4. advocare has a great berry tasting meal replacement shake. It has 24 grams protein in it. I was introduced to it at a bariatric weight loss surgery monthly meeting that was on protein. Our Dr's office had nutritionist have the meeting for patients. They have other flavors to. You can get in single serve packages it is like 14 in a box.

  6. I had surgery 10/8/2012. I have lost 55 pounds. Everyone says oh your skinny now. I dont feel skinny at 185/187 pounds. It is always going up and down a couple of pounds. I have dropped lots in pants sizes. I went from 22/24 to 14/16 depends on the pants. In danskin stretch pants I need a medium which is 10/12. I was wishing I would have lost more by now,but I havent. It seems slow to me also.
  7. My husband was and is still behind me all the way. My husband in 1997 seen me have a very rough time with a surgery. He was still supportive with my choice to have this surgery. Now he shows me off to everyone. Yes he does worry about me. He thinks I am losing to much weight to fast, but he still supports me. I am 3 1/2 months post op.
  8. I was on insulin 3x day before surgery. I dont take any meds. I had surgery Oct 8 2012. my A1C was 6.0 this week.
  9. I went to a bariatric weight loss surgery meeting tonight. It was on Protein. Advocare was there. They gave samples out to anyone that wanted one. The Berry flavored meal replacement shake with 24 grams of protein was really good. They guarantee money back if we could not tolerate it. I bought some to try. I ahve no connection to this company. I never heard of them until tonight at the monthly meeting for surgery patients that our Dr's have dietitians have once a month.
  10. low estrogen will cause weight gain for sure. I know from have hysterectomy and never taking estrogen or any hormones I was referring to Patrick's post about the soy I quoted it but i dont see that part

  12. I cant each much either. I am just over 3 months post op. I get about 500 - 600 calories a day. That is all. Yes I am losing slow, or to me it is slow. I am losing inches. I can eat about 2 oz protein and that is all at one meal. Just a few bites. Today was one of those days I probably didnt get that much in me. and No I havent been at gym as much as I would like to be.
  13. I was 246 pre op I dont have that problem I am at 186 now. So don't let what he said bother you. Do what you need to do for you. My husband said something about me being fat before I even considered this surgery. It hurt my feelings so I called and went to dr and had the surgery
  14. your welcome genealogy and Mormon libraries have a world of info. So does courthouses, Courthouses have marriage records that have a world of info on them.. Mormon church libraries have alot more info alot of times. I use to do genealogy.At some courthouses they have death and military records.
  15. My nut said they was fine. They are low in sugar also which is a plus. They was the ones I liked before surgery. My tummy cant tolerate them since surgery
  16. I had stress text, they also have a chemical one. It is different from the old fashion one on the treadmill. I dont know the proper name for it. I also had lab work and ekg / sonogram of heart.
  17. genealogy library's have lots of free useful information. Also some mormon church's have genealogy information library's. Courthouse. google genealogy free. Lots of free information out there. You just have to take the time to look for it.Sorry if I sound blunt.
  18. Yes I was type 2 diabetes. I was on insulin daily for it.The day of surgery my sugar was 301 today my sugar runs 87/98 that is all fasting numbers also. Good luck to you
  19. I had my surgery Oct 8 2012 I am on no insulin or diabetes med. now. Good luck to you. You should be able to come off the insulin pretty soon. My sugar the day of surgery was 301 today it runs between 87- 98 fasting
