I was a diet Pepsi drinker and haven't had any problem giving it up. Maybe taking a look at the bigger picture of being healthier might help. Sometimes giving up something is not as bad as you think it will be.

I had the surgery on 10/8, I was 398 today I am 328, down 70lbs and counting. I have not had any problems thus far, it has been a breeze, no pain, no gas, no mood changes. I hope to continue to work toward my goal weight. I would suggest that you carefully compare Sleeve vs. Bypass. Good Luck!

OK, so today I met with my dermatologist. My dermatologist explained that the type of hair loss we are experiencing is called telogen effluvium and is more due to recent shock to your system, ie., weight loss, pain, recent surgery, over or under active thyroid, childbirth, medications and other underlying conditions not just lack of Protein. The dermatologist mentioned that one could lose over 50% of your hair, but that it will grow back in 5-8 months. She suggested using minoxidil, which will stimulate the growth of new hair faster. The less expensive brands are: (both 2%)
* Equate which can be purchased at Walmart

Important instructions on use:
It is important that if you do use the minoxidil, it is to be placed on your scalp, do not rub it into your hair, it will just make your hair more brittle and susceptible to breakage. Do not let it drip onto your forehead as it will cause headaches. The best application is laying back preferably into a Shampoo sink.

I have never really experienced or seen society criticising people who have bariatric surgery. I am thankful that I live in a society where I am supported and encouraged. Perhaps you should move!

I am 5'8" (although my surgeon's office keeps listing me at 5'6" (annoying) and I was 398 on surgery day 10/8, I'm now down to 300 (98lbs lost and more to go) .....anything is possible. If you work hard, anything is possible.

I like the way you think! I think some do themselves a disservice by weighing in too much. Especially the daily weigh-ins. But folks are gonna do what they do. LOL

I am 4 months Post Op and NEVER hit a STALL… Yeah for Me!!!! Okay, Okay, before everyone goes Ape ****, I will tell why. I only weigh Once a Month at the Doctors office. Every 30 days I get on the dreaded scale, and it is becoming my Friend, because I am always Much Less than the last time. Yes, I am Know I am Stalling Just like everyone else, but I don’t know when that is so it helps me mentally not focus on the negative and just plugging along doing what the doctor tells me.. Just a thought if you are getting frustrated with the daily or even weekly weigh ins, Don’t do it to yourself, Weigh Once a MONTH!.

I would suggest making appointments with Department store personal shoppers. Most major department stores have free personal shoppers and you have no obligation to purchase. Tell the shopper what you are interested in and she can pull together some looks. When you meet with the shopper take a friend with a camera so you can memorialize those looks. You can then search for similar options in less expensive stores.

LOL, I wasn't thinking about the actual weight loss, more so the ability to keep hush hush the surgery.

He probably had the surgery because he was called out by Dr. Connie Mariano. Good for him, but not a fan!
