Getting in all that PROTEIN!
Yum! Now I'm in the mood for Beans and cornbread! Guess what's for dinner tomorrow night. LOL! My mom taught me a similar recipe for cooking pinto beans, but this gives me even more ideas. Thank you for posting! Recipe swap anyone? I was craving pumpkin pie and thinking about eating custard to help get my Protein in when I came up with this recipe: Easy Crustless Pumpkin Pie 1 can Libby's Pumpkin Pie mix 6 eggs 1 cup 1% Milk Mix ingredients and pour into a casserole dish (no need for grease or non-stick spray). Bake for 60 min. at 325 degrees. Knife inserted in the middle should come out clean. Let cool 30 min. before serving. Makes ten 1/2 cup servings Calories: 140, Fat: 3g, Carbs: 21g, Protein: 5g It makes a nice little snack for those of us in the holiday mood early:D

Does anyone have a rash..........
I had a similar problem under my breasts. I went to my dr and found out it was yeast from the antibiotic shot they gave me before surgery. All cleared up now. You should probably have a dr look at it to be sure.

Getting in all that PROTEIN!
I'm not getting enough Protein in. I never did Atkins because I'm not a big protein fan, unfortunately. It's taking me a while to get used to all this. I'm making progress but not yet ideal. I have eaten more eggs, tuna and salmon in the last few weeks than in all of my life prior. LOL! I'm going to try the New Whey Protein tubes that Candle mentioned. I am also going to try adding some

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Hi, Judi! For me, I used to drop a big chunk of weight (like 10lbs in a week) and then I would plateau for a while. (I expect that to happen again) Also if you are exercising you may be gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat, per sq inch. Of course there's water weight that we gals get once a month-- yuck! So, any of those things could be fooling with the scale. That's why I don't have one at home-- it always lies. LOL! You're doing GREAT! Just keep up the good work. It's going to pay off! {{{hugs}}} :cheer2:

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
That's true. You caught me. LOL My Dr gave me a hand out that says to aim for 30g a day durring post-op. My nutritionist told me to aim for 60 a day. I've been getting at least 30g a day and sometimes more than 70g. Mostly, like my Dr said, I was just eating for comfort through the post-op phase. Now that I have my fill I will have more choices, eat better and can really get with my exercise! Woo hoo! :whoo: Candle, how are you getting your 70g in a day? Protein supplements? How are things going for you?

First Fill
I'm four weeks post-op and had my first fill today, under flouro. It went really quick and easy. I barely felt it-- even asked if the needle was in. I watched my stomach on the monitor as I drank the berium. It tasted awful but looked cool. I'm down 27 lbs and feelin good! Yippee! :whoo:

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Confessions... I haven't been eating the best quality stuff and even "cheated" a little by starting mushies 2 days early and ate steak a few days ago, but chewed it to a super mush. I have been tracking my food honestly and stayed under 800-1000 calories. I wasn't hungry because I ate a lot of solid type food, which I either blended or chewed to a mush. I was eating/drinking about 1 cup 4-6 times a day. You can view my food diary here: FitDay.com - Diet and Fitness journal for band chick Brags... I went in for my first fill today and I'm down 27 lbs!!! Dr Neal said everything was looking good and I can go back to water aerobics. I got my fill under flouro and had no pain-- I even asked if the needle was in. So, all my worries about the pain not going away, never being able to sleep on my left side again and not losing were for nothing. It's week four and I'm doing GREAT!:whoo:

Need a Birthday Greetings Chair
The job is really what ever you want to make of it. If it were me, I would probably post a "Happy Birthday [name]" post a few days before each birthday. You could also just do one birthday post per month, for all the "[month] Birthdays". The hardest part, I suppose, is keeping track of all the birthdays.

Aug/Sept Exercise Challenge
That's too bad. I went to Bremerton surgery center. Everyone there was wonderful. It was the farthest distance, but the quickest I could get into. Turned out to be worth it. Good job on the exercise! Thank you, Becky! It's so good to know that it helps. :hug:e As promised, here's a sneak peek of the award for this challenge: This will be available as a web image, printout for iron-ons or scrapbooks; as well as coffee cups, mouse pad, t-shirts, tote bag, etc. Because we're worth it! :first:

Aug/Sept Exercise Challenge
I was in the same boat. We have a great lap band surgeon close by, but the staff were so cold and the Dr's reputation was that she was the same. When Chris, a local bandster I met on this board, told me about Dr Neal I called the next day and made my appointment. You are absolutely right-- all after care, including any additional surgeries, for one price; plus a great staff! No brainer! Dr Neal even called me at the hotel the night of the surgery and gave me his home number, just in case. WOW! The nurses at his office and surgery center called so much in the first few days to check on me it was almost annoying. LOL Did you have Karen as your pre-op nurse? She and her husband were banded by Dr. Neal too. Great job on the exercise! Moving will help us heal and lose weight! Stellar Becky! You are doing so fabulous! You've just about got this challenge wrapped up! Go, Becky! Go! :cheer2: O.K. Crazy Ates, we have two weeks and three days left in this challenge. That's plenty of time. I know many of you are doing your mindful daily exercise. Please pop in and keep in touch for your support and others. Keep up the great work everyone! :clap2:

Anyone else had this pain?
I had the most awful pain last night! I plan to talk to my Dr about it on Tuesday (my first fill), but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this and what it might be. Last night I was a little hungry so I had a boiled egg, which I've done several times with no problems. Then I had to take my meds with a little bit pudding, as usual. I went to bed about an hour later, laid on my left side (my port and stomach side) for just a little bit and I started feeling pressure on my stomach. I rolled over onto my right side and I got the most awful pain! The worst of it was in the middle of my tummy, right below my sternum and in my back. I felt like my whole belly was full and I was either going to vomit or needed a really good burp. :sick I started walking and had a heating pad on my tummy, which helped. After about 10 minutes, it just all of a sudden went away and I was fine. WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT? Was it a blockage some how? Was it because I laid on my left side? It was very scary, I can tell you that. Anyone else had this?

POLL: Whats YOUR "FULL" SIGNAL??
My signal for full is a sigh. My signal for being overly hungry is hiccups. :loco:
