i have a friend that had the sleeve done in the US and only did a liquid diet the day before. That is what her doctor had her do. I think it is different with every doctor. the goal of pre op diets is to shrink your liver.

mine is 14 days of protein shakes for breakfast and lunch then small salad and lean meat for dinner then 3 days before surgery liquid. But i figure it wont hurt is i do the first part before the 14 days

i have loss over 150 lbs on Atkins I was 408 when i started Atkins last yeas loss 150 gained most of it back. But now I want to follow the pre op to lose how ever much I can before surgery

you have to use optifast? I started the EAS protein shakes today they are not the best but they are okay and have 17 grams of protien.

thanks for the reply I would LOVE to lose 80lbs before surgery. I am 365 now I said i wanted to lose the 65 before surgery but that may too big of a goal for 3 months so i figured 30 or more and i will be happy. Congrats on the 80lbs!!! Good luck with your surgery!! keep me updated!!

I am starting my per op diet now (my surgery isnt ti feb 8th) because I want to lose at least 30+ lbs before my surgery. So when I lose 100 lbs I still won't be in the 300's. And the more weight I lose before surgery the less risky it is. So anyway with all that being said I am do a protein shake for breakfast and lunch salad and lean meat for dinner. What is the best protein drinks? Any thing I can do so I won't get bored? What about snacks? What do you all suggest? Trying very hard to stay on the pre op diet but it does not say anything about snacks until the liquid diet and that is jello and etc....

I was faced with this also, I am a teacher and i have two weeks off for christmas and new years. I really want it done soon as i can get it done. But after thinking about it we (my husband and I) would have to be on a liquid diet FOR christmas because we dont get out of school for break until the 22nd so the surgery would be after christmas. I know I can not be around all that good food and be on a liquid diet! So we are going for Mardi Gras break. another reason i am waiting is because of plane tickets. We are going to Mexico and it is MUCH more during the holidays.

i sure hope so i want to wear heals! with out my foot looking like an overfilled muffin pan!

i have a friend that uses them all the time she is thin like really really thin but had twins so her stomach was streched. She uses "it works body wraps" and it helps but it is not long lasting she has to do them like three times a week if not more

i had to call united airline themselves to book a flight cause i was having a hard time finding times and they booked the three seats wrong :/ it was 1500 for three seats from new orleans to san diago but is still cheaper than having it done in the usa!

my husband and I are 17 years apart, He is older than me. Before i talked him into having surgery anytime I would talk about it he would say yeah you just want to get skinny so you can find a new man. He would say it jokingly but i think that was a concern for him. One day i finally told him dear if i was going to leave you I would do it skinny or not but I choose to stay with you because I love you. After that he kinda laid off that comment then i started talking about how much better our sex life would be! So now not only am I getting the surgery he is also! Feb 8th can not come soon enough

i have that also when i loss weight when i was younger it went away, now that i am older i am not sure.

I made my deposit last week on both my husband's and my surgery thru alighterme and we did not get a confirmation. Did you all get a confirmation?

So I'm at my pcp for a check up and to ask of he will follow me after the surgery. He said yes (yeah) then he took my blood pressure then took it again and again! He was like umm you feel okay? i said yes he said well your blood pressure is very high 150/98. I NEVER have high blood pressure. He did an EKG everything is good but I have to go back in a week to see if it goes down! Only thing in my diet that I have charged is I stopped drinking diet coke and I'm drinking green tea.
