  1. Is anyone wearing a medical ID after gastric sleeve??? Pros or cons??
  2. Omg you are 118 who gives a crap what they may or may not think, celebrate girl you are a winner. Post that on your mirror. My shrink said I need to live in the moment, which to me sounded like a Hollywood line but when I can't sleep I just tell myself my job for this moment is to fall asleep not conjure world peace. Yours is to LOVE yourself each time you feel someone might be thinking otherwise. You go girl.
  3. I gained 2-4 lbs this is day 3 as I had surgery on the 19. Not surprising since I was pumped full of fluids, bloated tummy and not going to the bathroom since before the surgery but not constipated yet either. I am taking in a Lot of fluids and it is passing just fine. So not expecting weight loss until off of medication and see the doc at the one week apt. It is fine, I know it will drop once regular life begins. But I'm in there with you. And being up a few.
  4. Dr said mine was only 30 minutes and fixed a couple hernias.
  5. I had my surgery yesterday am now home doing fine thanks for all the support everyone
  6. Happy for you, keep up the great job.
  7. I watched a doctor's u tube video and he said gurgling can be helped by water, one person also stated some anti diarrhea liquid helped her stomach to settle down, I have not even had mine yet but both of these are quite minor if you want to try. Just trying to help - checkout dr u tube videos. Good luck!
  8. Gas ex under tongue, good luck If you are afraid plump up your veins by drinking as much as it comfortable before.
  9. Let's all learn to say NO, it's my birthday and I chose where we go, it's my turn to choose the restaurant, I bought it to have only 2-3 bites and I know it's a waste but no one says a thing to a thin person who takes a couple bites, I have always said it's a Health Issue as why I can't eat. All the tempting of friends and family has probably attacked my weak points before and once I failed and ate - I felt horrible and ate myself back up to my top weights, this is one of the reasons I am having the surgery. I think it is great how strong all you have been! I think learning to ask a To Go Box was a wonderful informative suggestion on buffet locations, let's hear more of coping skills!!
  10. Wow way to go men! Have a life, when you least expecting or even wanting is when that someone will come along. I once knew a guy who always asked the most beautiful girl in the room to dance and 90% of the time she said yes and even if she didn't everyone else knew he was strong and usually said yes too. Ask friends how they met, check out online, believe you are worthy and believe me life with the wrong person is ugly and worth waiting for the right one, it is so much easier but still work. Pray. See a shrink to see if you are putting out the wrong vibes or have something that needs worked on. Be the best you can be for that future person and more importantly yourself.
  11. Hope it went well for you and that each day you get better soon.
  12. To all EGD was easy as everyone stated. Wannabthin that's good to hear, have you had any great issues or advice? I start drinks tomorrow and count down on the 7 days of liquids.
  13. I did not have to remove any clothes or anything, just laid on my side and was OUT, I guess in recovery my husband said I spoke of the 70s ( how funny). I woke up and they said it is time to leave- the nurse told hubby she is hard to wake up and he said she doesn't sleep well but took advantage today. It really was nothing, I was more afraid they would find something that would keep me from the surgery and there was none. You will do great
  14. I'm a granny toooo and having mine done on the 19
  15. Keep positive!! I'm older and go through doubts that I "deserve" to get the surgery. But I'm going for it! Think of the years of benefits you will get from it! Maybe you won't get bad knees or ankles, health issues, live longer for your kids. It's ok to have doubts but look toward your goal. No one but my husband has supported me 100% and he waffles back and forth as he worries. I'm on count down to the 19th and start liquid on the 12 with several ladies groups to go to during that time, one even in my home but I will prevail. So can you! I have not really ever met people that get a lot of support from family or friends but it is their issues not yours.
  16. Keep up the good work, I think people do not notice or do and are afraid to comment anymore. I also think that it takes months for your body to reshape its self, it is why the first year people say "you look sick-you looked better heavier" Your eyes and theirs will settle the longer you are thin, just keep it up. You go girl
  17. I know the excitement! The wait from now until then is hard, I just jumped my final hurdle was the egd, I was afraid after coming this far for some reason it would keep me out, but the doc said it looked fine and we are a go for August 19. Plus huge relief as I was nervous. Now counting down is very real. Write me for any help! L
  18. I'm sorry so many friends and family just don't get it. Would they do that to a person with a special diet due to cancer? I feel the fat is cancer and we are trying to heal from it. If they say you did it to yourself well so did smokers and I don't judge their choices. I have been thin many times but it has always come back and this is for me to heal. I don't expect others to give up their lives for my choice and food issues, but I hope to be strong and show them I made the right decision for me. The closest family members can want us to fail because they have and if we do it too it takes they failure blame off them. I have been up and down weight wise so many times and have been on both sides, I tried to never temp someone to do anything that they would regret eating later. Hang in there you can do it!
  19. Just had my egd, so much easier than I expected or read. Met with surgeon am a go for the 19
  20. Thanks all, we will go through it together. Let me know if I can help
  21. Ok I lost during the six months but are waiting for egd then surgery in August. I found a movie of the actual surgery and half watching it made me calmer vs so nervous. I actually have to stay within my bmi or may get disqualified. They don't make any of the requirements easy.
