Need help to find the best protein power
- Adhesions
Surgery was the 19th of August. It is over an hour away so I'm having my whole stomach area especially since pain can radiate. The huge problem is that I'm allergic to iodine so I have to start taking steroids at 1:30 am. 8 of them actually. And another 8 two hours before they start giving it to me. My husband said pack a bag you maybe staying over night, he doesn't want me to go through it but I need to know what is going on. I HATE steroids they make me blow up like a Macy day balloon. Plus who know what my stomach is going to say and how long everything will stay down. But I will let you know what they come up with.- Sleeve with hiatal hernia?
The doc found and fixed it during the surgery and it worked fine- Adhesions
I seemed to pull something on the lower left side. Called doc and he said I should get better every day. I did but it keeps coming back so I'm having a ct tomorrow.- Multi chewable vitamin
I have tried 3-4 vitamins as my surgeon and nut says we have to take huge amounts for life. Vitamins are the only thing that has caused vomiting. I just got vitamin patches and so far no problems - I assume they are working. I have shipped back one type, going to try selling a non opened bottle and another I will take back to the store.- LOW metabolism - sleeve or bypass
I to have thyroid issues and have for 30-40 years. My blood pressure never hit 100 until after i turned 40. My sleeve is my friend and although it is slow going but it is going. It's only a couple months but well worth having done.- Tools/Items for Portion Control
I bought a digital scale to help me understand the amount I was eating so that I could add it to My Fitness Pal. It helps with portion size being visible, and weighed. I got a Bariatric plate for the future, right now I am only weeks out but I am taking NO chances of it coming back. Of course, you eat just until you are beginning to get full. I had to much to eat the other day and was miserable, eat slowly - it can be hard if you are getting some food back you really love.- Trouble with ordering Syntrax Nectar on Amazon?
Call them direct they will send out samples in a group once at a $1.00 each.- 65 and over
I was up weight wise for almost a week and although I have lost weight all over my stomach still seems bloated, they said it could take up to two months for it all to go away. Give it time- 65 and over
Have a quick great recovery- 65 and over
Toler, it really is not that hard. Scary until you get it done but each stage goes by quickly. The drain tube hurts for less than 30 seconds same for the shots.- I have a gift for many of you...
If anyone knows how delete this forums, I would if I knew how. It is a total waste of people's time and energy.- 65 and over
The shots are nothing compared to years of being heavy, ice the area first and breath out as you inject, it is over in a second. There are some up and down days but walk around your house every time you wake up it helps everything. Take pain meds as needed, I took mine at night as I had trouble sleeping on my sides. It isn't bad at all, I read it's best to go to the bathroom before the surgery as you don't want to be pushing the first few days and that was good advice and I'm glad I took Metamucil 24-48 hours before. Good luck- 65 and over
Great so happy for you- Newbie over 60 loosing slowly
Hi, I'm over 60 and had surgery August 19, ( I wonder if I will ever forget that date, not likely). I could use support from a winner. I read how people are loosing 20 lbs or 25 in the same amount of time and it depresses me. Thanks!!!!- I have a gift for many of you...
Omg get a life! If I'm sending a letter or correspondence I will abide. But if I'm writing without my glasses, upset or spell check takes a flying leap in a wrong direction, please dear God or in your case Godess please forgive this minor sinner. I have tried to be a positive booster in BP but in this case go teach school and leave us pouring out are dreams, fears, concerns, to us that no longer give a crap on their writing but what they are saying instead.- Had My Surgery Tuesday August 25th
I had surgery the 19 and have not had one issue with my recovery. I lost quite a bit of weight during my 8 months insurance preop but have not lost a huge amount since and it seems disappointing. I eat so little that I was hoping it to come off as fast as I could put it on in the past. Have others had these issues? Weight loss before and slow loss after? Just had 1 week check up and they were so happy I had no issues at all.- 65 and over
It will finally start going fast, good luck!- What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
Reality I DO have thyroid and I am on steroids often and I can gain 10-20 lbs within days. It is partly why I had the surgery so I just can't eat what I feel I need when on meds. Of course we know it is eating and lack of exercise is what helps make us fat. But I'm eating around 600 calories am exercising and due to thyroid and meds am barely loosing, so DONT tell me they mean nothing.- how long is the Gastric Sleeve surgery ?
Husband and dock said 1/2 hr included 2 hernia- So it turns out my wife is gay...
Will be wishing each day gets better.- MEGA Stall - Need some tips to break it
I've read do a few days of preop- Psych eval was um...
You might ask him why HE was not listening enough to get your age correct. Hum- WLS for the "right" reasons
I'm 60 and have rarely in my life put myself first or ever considered spending this kind of money on myself. I do have other issues which helped getting approved but we have an outrageous deductible so it still has been a big deal. I worked all of the six months of stress waiting for approval to loose weight and did loose 40+. If I was doing this I wanted to be in the best shape for it. My family were more worried about my health than supportive but they know me type A once I made up my mind I didn't look back. I had my surgery the 19 and the worst was when my husband got me laughing I truly had tears of pain while laughing even more. Do it while you are young, enjoy your life without going down hill health wise. Worry minor, dream of success and go for it. I try to only be supportive on websites, I understand there always be questions and concerns as there should be but I decided with my eyes open and know I could loose the weight again but steroids would put it back on over and over again. Do it for you!! Best of health ahead.- Is this ever going to stop?
Since I am "post surgery" now (how fun is that to say) and it's only been a couple of days. I'm not even back to surgery morning weight I feel like it maybe strange for me to say but I do understand! I've been thin before, I've even had people give me the EYE in the grocery store on both occasions when I've had a cart of healthy food and when I've had a cart of pure taste. All and I mean all, people have their own issues with food, I have met a few rare people that do not and they are weird. I'm sure I will again have more of those feelings of I'll eat it so fast no one will know, or I'll hide it for later. ( I know eating fast won't be an issue) it hurts like hell on wheels! Getting the weigh off quickly probably is hard on the brain - Adhesions
