  1. I can say that Dr. Aceves and his team easily exceeded my expectations. :-) Good luck finding your Mx surgeon.
  2. I didn't go alone but I would have been perfectly okay had I gone alone. I went to Mexicali.
  3. My heart definitely flip flopped when I read that. Hooray for you!!!
  4. I agree with your sentiment but not necessarily with all your points. I've been overtly discriminated against and cruelly made fun of due to my being obese. As a kid and teen and now an adult. Not every healthy and fit person I've met was cruel but some are/were. I don't want vengeance. I've tried really hard to forgive and move on. I cannot forget it as my heart is scarred, but I've moved on. Sometimes it still gets to me and I struggle. Sometimes I'm victorious and sometimes my anger/bitterness bubbles over. I also think that maybe some who make posts like the ones that have inspired your rant are rants in and of themselves. That VST is a safe place amongst peers to pour out these feelings. Better out than bottled up inside, right? I look forward to looking and feeling attractive and dressing, not like I want to fade into my surroundings, but like a confident and attractive woman. I'm married and value fidelity. My marriage is rocky but I am faithful, not faithless. I believe that those who are showing what may be perceived as negative attitudes haven't forgiven others or themselves. I've done the former but I am still working on the latter. That said I agree that these feelings and behaviors can be toxic and we should try and help get them through the best we can.
  5. You're better off keeping yourself well hydrated, consulting with a fitness professional for a good tightening and toning workout, and putting the money you're saving by not buying the wraps into a "nips and tuck" coffee can to be looked into down the road if the other two options don't yield the desired results (with your medical professional's blessing of course). :-)
  6. Update. I'm kinda over cottage cheese.
  7. I'm a stomach sleeper and I was sleeping on my stomach in the hospital, I put a pillow under the tender side and slept just fine. I will also add I have a very high pain threshold. Very little postop pain with c-section, gall bladder, and VSG. No pain meds postop with any of the three after the IV was removed.
  8. I agree with BTB. Give yourself more time. :-)
  9. I notice the busier I am the more likely I am to forget to eat/drink.
  10. I'm not a fan of Port wine either. It's so sweet and kind of thick.
  11. It was on a thread discussing feeling buyers remorse and regret and someone, I believe it was Luckysmomma, stated she was told by 3 surgeons WLS cuts 5-18 years off your life.
  12. And the newest Urban Legand is that in addition to cutting out 80-85% of our stomachs we've cut 18 years off our lives.
  13. And I'm PMSing. But I'm still resisting! Staying strong. Fighting the good fight. Avoiding the grocery store.
  14. I'm in Ohio but planning to relocate to Wilmington.
  15. The fam and I are headed to a quarry for swimming, hiking/rock climbing, and jumping off the cliffs into the quarry. BBQ with the folks on Sunday.
  16. Sometimes I don't refrigerate my salad dressing immediately after opening. I'm a rebel!
  17. I'm closing in on 3 months postop and had salad earlier this week. It didn't make me sick but it was a lot of "work" eating each bite.
  18. Hooray that it went well. Dr. Aceves and team are great.
  19. I plan on proceeding with extreme caution as well. I'm still morbidly obese and don't want to hurt myself.
  20. Cannot find that Vitamin Water Zero Revive anywhere. I've found the regular VW Revive but not the Zero. Not even on Amazon.
  21. Hopefully you've jump started your weight loss! Hooray for you! Once I'm at 6 months I'm thinking of doing a veggie and fruit cleanse.... I'm starting Couch 2 5k Sunday and I'm stoked.
