    Weighing Yourself?

They suggest you not weigh yourself more than once a month, but to be honest with you. I've had my band for almost 3 years and have been at my goal weight for over a year and not a day has gone by where I haven't weighed myself. I don't think a day has gone by in 30 years where I haven't weighed my self. So I figure, if that's my only obsession...LET IT BE! Anyway....most of the time it's good news and makes me smile.
  3. I have had my band for almost three years and have been at my goal weight for the past year. After getting the band, I went to the doctor each month for "a fill." The band would stay tight until the end of the month....by the time I went to my next appointment, I was ready for another fill. One time, about a year after getting the band I returned home after a fill and found that I could eat anything. I had no restriction. When I returned to the doctor, the told me I had "sprung a leak." We discussed my options and decided to take the first option which was to substute the saline they typically use for a fill with another...thicker...solution. It didn't look thick to me, but whatever it was, it was great. That was the last time I needed a fill. It's been two years now and whatever he filled me with...filled the leak and has never evaporated.

    June 5 I will be de-banded

I'm sorry you're having so many problems. Four months ago I had a leak in my band and with no saline reverted back to how much I was able to eat before getting banded. I've been banded for 18 months. I couldn't wait to get the substitute liquid into the band, which closed the hole and has been find for 4 months. I just thought, if you removed the saline, you would be back to normal. After getting banded, how many fills did it take to get to a place where you could not consume much food?

Pardon me for asking....why do you need to have it removed. Is the band tight even if there is no fill?

    Not Losing Weight

Thank you so much for your response. I was feeling like an island. Are you losing now? When did you start losing?

    Not Losing Weight

Just eating the same as everyone else. Not more, unfortunately NOT LESS. I was hoping for more restriction.
  9. I got banded 6 weeks ago and had my first fill 2 weeks ago. I must say, I'm a bit disappointed that I have no restriction and am not losing weight. Actually, I've gained back the 10 pounds I lost while preparing for surgery. Has anyone else had this experience? I can't be the only one. Thank you:cry
