  1. Will look into that..TY for sharing!
  2. I have only informed a small group of people... But one thing I would like to interject here..No one ever helped or supported me before in weight issues..losing or gaining..In fact some were quite happy and relieved that I was bigger then them.... I have been asked if I would speak to folks who are looking into WLS...I have replied yes but only one on one....I am not a freak show and one to be watched....Will not let the masses know because this is my journey. I have things I have to work on for myself.... When I was sick and almost died due to complications from the sleeve surgery...The only question people asked was oh...Has she lost any weight or how much weight has she lost? I experienced hell for this before and even now 10 months later....I will do it with only the team and the people I trust with the info.....
  3. I have not been able to drink protein drinks for months now....they make me throw up....Where did you get this one if I can be so bold to ask?
  4. I followed a lady on her journey as she had a blog and videos....A year after her surgery she was still putting peanut M&M's in her mouth and spitting them out after she chewed them....She never ever said she stopped the habit...... I thought that it defeated the purpose of the program...but she is slim and fit now and so the results happened for her anyway....Not my thing for sure, I only spit things out that taste awful to me which I am always surprised about since I ate them before surgery.... So I guess it happens..If you want to not use the tool properly there is always a way....But why? Why go through all of this work and life changing and learning to deal with the issues that caused this to happen to you and do that......Seems to me that she was not ready to deal with what it would take to make the changes.... That is how I see it......
  5. I was on a special liquid protein drink for 2 weeks before my sleeve.....4 shakes a day and water that was it...No dinner entree or anything else...This is standard for my surgeon....I was painful to say the least..But I knew why I was doing it and so I did it.....I was really proud of myself.....oh I had to do it twice by the way because they had an emergency and cancelled my first surgery...What fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Found out Friday that I don't have to have surgery...My plastics felt everything was great and on its way to recovery.....dodged that bullet... Thank you all for your words of care and concern for me
  7. This is all normal behavior....No doubt in my mind that your husband is scared of you going under the knife.....I went in thinking it was all going to be a breeze and it did not work out that way for me....So having some anxiety is good.... Soon you will join the rest of us on the losing side.......All the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. It blew my mind when my daughter showed me a picture of myself she had taken on the sly before my surgery....I was so upset to see how large that photo made me look because I never saw myself that way....sure I would suffer abuse from ignorant people... I knew I was big, but not that big....I always tried to carry myself with pride no matter how big I was... She took a picture of me a couple months ago sitting in the same chair and instead of spilling over onto the arms of the chair there was room to spare in the seat.... When I think of that first picture I want to die........ 10 months out, I can cross my legs and wear a XL to a L in most clothes..... I was on a waiting list for 4 years....Can't believe it is my turn to get this straightened out and feel healthier.... You will not fail...You won't be perfect because none of us are ...But if you want this bad enough you will reach your goals.....Mind over matter and changing your eating habits and working with your tool, you will succeed... Go girl go!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Well that was scary....Glad I never eat that crap.....After I saw that movie Super Size Me the affair with Micky Dees was over....So glad it is...Yuck
  10. I too am eating tons of fish.. just had Haddock tonight.... Fried it in real butter, Lightly egged it and then used Italian bread crumbs to cover it....salt and pepper and paprika for a little zing... 2 min on both sides and a crispy delicious main dish...... most fish you can bake in the oven with onions sliced on top and salt and pepper with a little bit of lemon....Wrap it in tin foil and bake 350 for 30 min...depending on the size of your fish fillet....Love Salmon and Arctic Char this way.... I eat so much fish I think I am growing gills..I also eat oysters, shrimp, lobster and almost every thing I can find that has the label fish.....lol I am in Eastern Canadian so we have quite a selection of fish we can choose from... It is easy to digest and takes great....yum!!!!
  11. I feel like I am old now..ESP..in the face...That is where I lost a lot of weight at first....None of my supporters think I look bad but when I look in the mirror I see my mother who is 80 years old..... I guess it is one of the things I have to deal with!
  12. Why are you pushing yourself so hard.....Yes you could be Vitamin deficient but it takes 3 months for the sleeve to heal and longer for the incisions...Esp. The one that they remove your stomach from.....Your calorie intake is way too low and you should be drinking some G2 for hydration.....I am 10 months out and still drink a 1/2 bottle of G2 every day so I keep hydrated.....I mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Water and it works well.... Do ask about your possible deficiencies but take it easier on your poor sleeve....
  13. Tam180 - Of course it is not over...You will have to work harder when you get closer to goal.....Keep putting the Protein in and lots of Water...Exercise will be your key to taking off weight and inches....It is over when you say it is over..Don't play mind games with your journey...You will get there..Even if it takes 2 years....No one gained the weight as fast as you are losing...Sit back enjoy the journey...Every pound lost is a success story... There will always be stall...Some people on here have had them up to 3 months.....Be happy with where you are today K
  14. I told people that I had a repair done to my stomach to remove scar tissue from an ulcer....they bought it, even seasoned nurses bought it....The reason I had to come up with something like that is because I spent 5 months in hospital due to complications with my sleeve... I had planned not to tell a soul..But I couldn't do that....Anyway...only a few people know what really happened and so now I tell people that my stomach is still healing and so that is why I am losing weight....lol.. I did have repairs done, but it was after the surgery...so it wasn't a lie....just skipped the first part.....
  15. I did not say she could never have bacon...she is not ready to have bacon.....Come on now..gum is not a food group...Did you not see the booklet they gave you at the seminars.....LOL
  16. no Soda either....You will give yourself extreme gas...It can be very painful to drink soda.....Let it sit on your counter until it loses the fizz and try it then....But no gum and no soda......You have not got a lot of room to waste room with gas and air ( burps ) All the best!
  17. Ah, your not supposed to chew gum..At least that is what I was told by my team because it gets the acids flowing in your stomach and causes bubbles.....causes you to burp a lot!!! you guys are funny!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Just lately my body seems to have changed....I am smaller on the top and I have small legs...I have a big spare tire around my middle that seems to look worse since I lost some weight......All of a sudden my clothes are falling off me...and my stomach is going further down which is making things much harder to fit.... I wear Spanx when I go out and find myself hiking my pants up all the time but they are okay around the stomach area...Same with shirts.....Really loose at the top and fitting snuggling on the tire.....I look very funny I think... When I was fatter at least I was smooth...I get anxious over the clothes issue. Seems I am just renting them. Then in a few weeks I send them back.....Oh dear me!
  19. I have both the bypass and the sleeve...So I am not going anywhere else.....I get what I need from this forum..You can still apply a lot of what people feel like and think and the encouragement that comes from here.... I don't get it either..most people who are really over weight have re-flux issues...I would ask her more questions before I agreed to that procedure!
  20. I have too been stunned at how little we really need to eat to survive. I keep telling my husband to take smaller bites of food...and chew it....of course the man has been bone thin his whole life so what does he care....He replies do I look like I need to watch how I eat or how much.....grrrrrr
  21. Well you are normal I see.....Reactions are like most other people who have started this journey......Go get em!!!!!!!!!
  22. Most likely you would not even be able to keep it down..It would hurt...Trust me there will b e plenty of time for you to eat some bacon later on...Right now..Would not be the smart thing to do....LOL
  23. I wish we had a support group in out town..But most people are keeping the WLS a secret.....so I try to get what I need from here....It is tough though...One on one is much better for encouraging each other!
  24. You rock girl.....I will never wear spikes but I think if you can......do it......congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
