Hi! Do you cook? I just saw chocolate Cookies made out of miracle noodles. Do a websearch. They sure look good!
My thoughts are yes, your stored fat could still be releasing hormones...but I'm not an expert. It could also just be the holiday stress. What if you put away all your expectations for losing weight over the holidays? Just try to maintain? Would that make things easier for you?
    Good luck!!

I take prescription strength NSAIDS twice a day every day for arthritis, with my surgeon's blessings. I have since about two or three weeks out. That is one of the primary reasons I chose to be sleeved.

doxieville reacted to RickM in NSAIDs naughty/nice poll
My doc is one who recommends the use of NSAIDs, even shortly after surgery if necessary. NSAID tolerance is one of the fundamental advantages of the sleeve (and the DS, which uses the sleeve as its basis,) over the RNY, and has been successfully used in appealing insurance decisions favoring the RNY over the DS.
For those who are stuck with the "no NSAIDs" instruction from their docs and looking for valid alternate opinions, one direction of research that can be done is to investigate the recommendations of surgeons who have been doing DSs and sleeves for a number of years - a good listing of such docs can be found at dsfacts.com.

Seriously? A fake booty? Never thought about that! I live in Texas, if I get a fake booty I'll prob just wear it for special occasions....I am just imagining how hot my butt would get. I think when I've lost all my weigh I'll get a padded butt! I still have 40-50 pounds to lose. I can't imagine what my butt will look like...or won't look like...when I've lost my weight. Yikes!
Thanks to everyone for your advice! I'm going to try leggings w a long shirt, great idea!!!

Okay folks, first off, I am moving this topic to "Rants and Raves". Recently, we have been deleting posts such as this, that are created for the sole purpose of bashing others. However, I feel many of you have some valid points. Thus, I will allow it to remain open for now. However, I am going to STRONGLY REMIND all of you, to remember our rules as posted here:

I have had to post several warnings such as this in other threads tonight and the past couple of days, and I keep seeing the same names over and over again. Therefore, if this thread gets out of control, I will not hesitate to close and delete it. If you are not able to be polite, respect one another, refrain from name calling, etc., and can't remember to attack the idea and not the person, then I will also not hesitate to issue warnings and bans.

Shannon-'i'm with you. My hair was my crowning glory also. Blonde and thick. So thick barrettes never worked. I had to struggle to get a pony tail holder around it twice. I'm 51 and not a gray hair in sight.
At months out, my hair is so ratty. And thin. I had it cut a few weeks ago in layers to just below my ears but i may go even shorter.
I don't mind; really, i don't. If anything this has shown me to really appreciate the good things in life. This surgery has really humbled me.

Congrats on the weight loss!! Yay!!! Don't feel guilty about not working out every day. At this point it's best to have an exercise program that fits into your lifestyle so that you'll keep doing it and not quit. I am not a knowledgable exerciser by any means, but I've always been told to allow your muscles to rest between work outs. You can exercise diff parts of your body, but with swimming you really get a full body workout. So IMHO swimming 3-4 times a week is perfect for now!! Good luck and congrats!!

I don't know if anyone answered this, but I want to clear this up just in case. Of course, every surgeon has a diff plan, but i was told that ALL liquids count. Jellos, pudding, everything. In the beginning plain Water is very hard on the sleeve. It can make some people nauseous. It certainly did me! I am 4 months out and just this week i've been able to tolerate plain Water w/o any issues.

I guess this isn't quite post op yet, but I just watched my hubby walk off to the OR.
I had my surgery on Nov. 5th and he's having his right now. Needless to say our holidays were/are going to be a little different this year. That said, I'm looking forward to the new year and our new bodies and hopefully our new relationship. With both of us becoming so overweight over time the quality of our lives and relationship has paid a steep price.

    Great exercising!!! Kudos to you!!
I think that most of us have decided that MFP's exercise data is a bit inaccurate. In fact, it gets me so aggravated that I don't even log my exercise!!

So.....I just want to add that this is something that what people call us 'old timers' are frustrated with. The OP posted that she was eating items that she shouldn't be eating. Two weeks out and eating fried dough can be life threatening, never mind unhealthy. So if we don't call her on it we are guilty of not 'supporting' correctly. We can't say it was ok for her to eat it or justify that it was ok. That would be enabling her AND when other newbies read it then they may find a way to justify bad eating. Is it tough love? Yes. No doubt. But it needs to be. At only two weeks out the OP should have some knowledge of what she can and can't eat. And if she doesn't then we need to help guide her, and that guiding IS telling her NO to bad foods. If she doesn't want our help, then she shouldn't post. I for one hope she does continue to reach out and can understand why we won't give in to her bad eating.
This sounds cruel, but OP, your mom sounds like a bit of an enabler. Don't let her sabotage all your good work so far! And yes, please go the store and get some good foods. Check out the food & nutrition forum for ideas for shakes etc. Yes, you will lose weight eating poorly, but you will not be healthy. Take this time to retrain yourself and learn to eat to support your health.
I do wish you the best of luck.

That could def be the cause. Fluid retention can be quite heavy. I agree that you should call your surgeon tomorrow. If they agree to take the Water pill, do make sure you get lots of fluids in because dehydration will give you a whole 'nother set of of problems!!
Good luck and can you report on this thread what happens? I subscribed to it so I can follow it. It always helps to know what the verdict ends up being!!
