  1. Same thing happened to me. Bad timing, huh? They won't want a tampon in, but if that's what you use, it's ok to go to the hospital with it in. Just tell them and they will have you take it out when you put the hospital gown on- they usually have you do a 'last pee' before you get tucked into bed. Good luck!!
  2. Hi! I used to take it am/pm. Half of the dosage each time. It made things 'flow' better. If you can tolerate supplements, Magnesium pills are also good to take. That's all I have to take now, with only the occasional need for Miralax.
  3. Donny- i think thats a great idea!!
  4. Do a search on here and you'll find some pretty interesting hair regimes. Some swear by them, others say it's inevitable. I was sleeved in August. My whole life i've been blessed w long thick blonde hair. I'm 51 and not a grey hair on my head. Last month my hair started falling out like crazy. The final straw was when it kept getting in my food. Last friday i went and got it all chopped off. Super short. I love it. But what's weird is that it stopped falling out!! I have no idea why. But it looks healthy, albeit much thinner. So maybe cutting your hair and 'starting over' may be an option too? Good luck!
  5. Great question! I tried an artichoke a few nites ago and it didn't agree with me. It's a fav of mine so I will try again. I'm 4 months post-op and chicken and eggs are still very unappealing to me. I pretty much only eat fish & cheese these days.
  6. I'm pretty sure its a heat rash. But i see my surgeon for a checkup next week and i think I better show him. I had no idea I could get a yeast infection in that area!! Thanks!!
  7. Thanks so much!!!'
  8. Pookey- how are you doing now? Your post was VERY brave and I thank you for it. These are the posts that we learn from. It's not all sunshine and roses. This is hard work!
  9. I'm finally at onederland. 199.8!!! LOL!!! It still counts!!! :-) Love my SLEEVE!!
  10. That's AWESOME!!!!! Congrats!!! I've read your posts on here and you work at it and it pays off!!! Yay!!! :-)
  11. Oh no! I'm glad you came clean and were honest though. Others can learn from you. Now, no leaking allowed out of your new tummy!!!
  12. Whoa! At 2.5 weeks many of us are still on liquid or pureed! I hope you'll be ok! It's crazy how doctors plans are so different!
  13. It really depends on age and how much you have to lose.
  14. Seriously? That's a pound a day ladies! The sleeve surgery isn't an instant fix. Give your body a chance to lose the years of weight it's been dealing with.
  15. Hi, So I've lost 50 pounds and my belly is sagging. I'm 51 and have carried 2 children so there's no way to avoid the sag. I live in TX and sweat...and I'm developing a rash. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
  16. Both my NUT and SUR made it VERY clear to me that I would have to be diligent and live a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life. Both had stories about people who had lost the weight but didn't keep it off. One day while waiting for an appt w my NUT I saw a woman who had gained back 50 pounds about 2 yrs postop. She had in her hand a huge starbucks coffee (don't drink it so I don't know the lingo) with all kinds of writing on the side. While in the waiting room I casually asked her what she was drinking. I can't remember it all, but she told me that it wasn't 'sleeve approved' and had gotten addicted to them again and was gaining her weight back. It was really sad. Addictions can grab ahold of any of us and we can fail. We need to realize that we have to work the program. Forever. In whatever capacity that means for you to be succesful. This is why it drives me nuts when post-op people on this forum post that they aren't eating because they 'aren't hungry' but are still losing weight. That not feeling hungry won't last, and when hunger does come back, they won't have learned anything about changing bad food habits. That doesn't seem like success to me. Sucess is learning how to use food to live a happy & healthy life. And that does take work! This isn't the magic cure that so many people are expecting it to be.
  17. Rootman, both at the same time? How heartbreaking. What happened? chocolate dapples are not only gorgeous, but they have such sweet personalities. Most people don't realize that the personalities of doxies vary depending on their coats. Thanks again for the compliments.
  18. Same as Kim. As long as you do your pre-op work, you should be ok.
