  1. GO!!!!!! The sleeve lifestyle is now your new way of living. You need to learn to adapt to all situations. Go, enjoy yourself. Take plenty of Protein powder & some Protein Bars if you feel that you can't control yourself for all meals. How much weight have you lost since you traveled last? I go to Vegas in February (anyone want to meet up?) and am excited about fitting in the airplane seat!! food will be all around me, but I will be in charge, not the food!! Enjoy!!
  2. Pinky, what a wonderful update!!!
  3. Gamer, what brand SF hot choc do you use? Can you tell me the carbs per serving? I use fat free nestles and it has 4 grams of carb per serving. I'm always on the lookout for something with less carbs. Thanks!!!
  4. Don't forget the power of magnesium. I add that to my daily vitamins and about 1tblspn of miralax and I usually go every day.
  5. Great comments on here. I've also read that if people need instant feedback and a tighter 'control' to lose weight then the bypass is better because if you eat the wrong things or too much you get violently sick. Some people do get sick when they overeat with the sleeve, but it's not as drastic as it is with the bypass. Also, I've read a study that says if you get esophagus cancer or ulcers and you have the sleeve, then recovery is harder. With severe ulcers, the treatment IS the sleeve, so one needs to be careful not to abuse your new tummy. I don't really remember the details on esophagus cancer bcs it was a 'what if' scenario. And my real medical issues topped any 'what if's.'. Good luck!!
  6. I am in agreement with everyone here. Sounds like gallbladder. You do NOT want it to have it erupt. I'm sorry abt not having health insurance. That does suck. But...the alternate of not getting checked out is worse.
  7. Yes, i do. Its my left shoulder and clavicle. Was horrible postop. 3 months later it comes and goes. And yea, its gas.
  8. You ladies are so silly!! But fun!! :-) i never has stinky gas. I had TERRIBLE gas in my left shoulder joint and under my clavical. It was bad. Walking helped it a bit. But nothing from my tummy or bowels.
  9. Really? So it's not just me?
  10. I am a little over 3 months post-op & have lost 50 pounds since this started around April. I'm quite happy with my weight loss even though it's slow, it's been consistent with about 2 pounds a week; I have 50 pounds to go. What I'm confused with is suddenly I have stinky armpits!! It started a few weeks ago. Maybe my fat is burning up stored stinky cells?
  11. Chad, i think i remember that you eat fish? Get the shrimp fajitas. Eat that and avocado. And pick either beans or a tortilla to eat, not both- too many carbs.
  12. I read no imodium on here too when I was first sleeved. I asked my doc and he said it's fine. You can easily get dehydrated with diaherra. Please do ask your doc though. I suspect people say no to imodium because it might slow weight loss?
  13. BOTH!!! It's so much fun to get patted on the back. It's a nice ego boast & motivator. But ultimately YOU are the one who matters and who you should please.
  14. I agree 100% w CBT. I didn't show the weight in my face. And that IS where people look. For the most part people want to be nice. You'll have the nasty people and unsupportive family members, but the general population would be happy to acknowledge your weight loss. But it is SUCH a TOUCHY subject. Like complimenting an overweight woman on being pregnant. I've been told that I look good, healthy, happy...not one person has complimented me on my weight loss. And that's ok. I'd rather look happy & healthier to people than suddenly thin. :-)
  15. Today I was folding my clothes and noticed how small they are!! Granted, I still have 50 pounds to lose, but I've already lost over 50 pounds. I think my weight loss FINALLY hit home while I was folding my 'unmentionables!' :-)
  16. I agree, a 4 day isn't a stall. It really isn't, but I understand your frustration. This is for keeps though. You are relearning how to eat & be healthy, so try to pay more attention to that rather than the scale. It's hard, I know. I'm just 'getting it' at 3.5 months out.
  17. My sis decided to claim the pants. Wish she would have told me before I made this post!! Sorry people!
  18. Thank you ALL for sharing such personal stories. It really truly helps knowing that I'm not alone. It is hard not getting approval or congrats from someone who I feel should be the most supportive person in my life. Thank you.
  19. I had that problem too. Finally at 3 months out I can tolerate unsweetened , original almond milk.
  20. LOL Tara!!! Sisters can have such complicated relationships! And if it were only that easy to just keep doing the pre-op/post-op diet! I'll bet we have all done a similar 'diet' only to gain all the weight back. Oh yeah, your hippie daughter would def give you grief!! I've had 'health nuts' (and I mean the extremes here people, not someone who eats healthy) who are total strangers in health food stores start to lecture me. People can really be judgmental and jump to conclusions. 'Fat* person in a health food store!! Danger, danger! Must go lecture and rescue from total destruction!!' *i'm just being silly. Don't anyone jump all over me.
  21. If you get in plenty of liquids, you can dilute your morning coffee if you really need the caffeine. But be careful of the acidity it might create in your sleeve. Some people can handle it, some can't.
