  1. Brandy, I was having the sliming issues as well. My doctor told me it was not drinking enough water. The slime comes from the stomach so the more water you drink the thinner it makes it...I eeeek at water, but that sliming is way worse!!
  2. Just wanted to stop in and say Hi to everyone. Congrads to everyone on their weight loss. I have had 2 fills since my surgery 07/19/07. I seem to be at my sweet spot. Its such a weird feeling. I now realize that I was fat because I simply overate. No denying it. I went to Arbys the other day for lunch. Preband I could eat a Beef and Cheddar and nearly a whole 10 pc potatoe bite. So I ordered just a 5pc tater bite. I could only eat 3. I laugh because its just unbelievable how much I use to consume and not even realize it. I LOVE MY BAND! I am scheduled for another fill 10/17 but I think I am going to pass on this one. I want to be able to eat a little, so i dont feel deprived. People are really starting to notice my weight loss. Noone but my husband and mom even know I had the surgery. So when people ask me how I am losing it? I just smile and say "By watching EVERYTHING I eat" Boy, aint it the truth. I watch what I eat more now then ever.
  3. Hey havent posted anything on here in a bit. Wanted to drop in and say HI and let everyone know how I was doing. My surgery was 07/19/07 which I received a 4cc . 3 weeks later I got 2 more cc's. Then 09/10/07 I got a lil over 1 cc. So I am a tad over 7cc's. They tried to give me 8 but I couldnt tolerate it. So its been 11 days since that fill and I just cant eat. I cant eat hardly anything. Puddings, and things like that is about all I can eat. Everything else comes up. I cant tolerate any meats, breads or almost any vegetables. I do not ever fill full, partly cause I dont eat enough. So I dont know if this is normal or not. Am I too full? Someone help me, I feel deprived...........
  4. I had a 4 cc prefill during surgery. I was given 2 more cc's a month after surgery. Then last week they gave me 2 more which put me at 8cc's. 10 miles past the doctors office, I had throwed up about 10 times. I went right back to the doctor, they said I was too full and took almost 1cc out. So I am a lil over 7cc, and feeling very restricted. The weight seems to be coming off though...
  5. thanks so much for your quick response. Yes, it was kinda scary, and very gross. I just wasnt sure what it was, when the food didnt come up and it did. Is this common? Does it happen everytime something doesnt agree with your band?
  6. I just had my first fill about 4 days ago. Today when i was trying to eat, I felt like I had to throw up, but all that came out was slime? Can anyone please tell me what this is?
  7. Hi there, been a while since I posted anything on here. I has my surgery 07-19-07. It put me down for about a week. I had extreme swelling and was given a 4cc prefill on a 10cc band. I didnt think I was going to make it. Needless to say, I did. I went for my fill yesterday and got 2 more cc's. I am on liquids today, so I cant much tell if there is restriction or not. I havent lost much weight since the pre op, about 3 lbs since surgery. Now that I have my first fill I am ready to drop some weight!!
  8. My RA doctor believe that the less weight that I have on my joints the better my joints will feel. Of course I havent lost enough weight yet to tell. I guess we will see....

  17. I am going to banded on July 19th. My mom was banded a couple of years ago, and had the same problems, GAS! At least thats what the doctors told her it was caused from. Gas that gets in your body during the surgery. He had her get some ADVIL LIQUID GELS and bam the gas was gone. Dont know if it will help you, but it helped her, and I am going to be sure to have some by my side the day after my surgery. Good luck!!
  18. <p>I started my whole process on May 3rd. I got my approval on July 5th. On July 6th, they called and set up my surgery for July 19th,and told me to immediatly start my preop diet.
  19. Okay today is day 4 of my pre op diet. I really dont feel like Im starving, like I thought I would. Its actually getting easier day by day. I have having lots of headaches. Dont know if its from hunger or simply from the carbs and caffeines I have cut out. Any ideas as to what helps with the headaches besides asprin or medication, because without food in my stomach, any medications make me sick....
  20. Tracy, I am sure that the PCOS played a role in getting me approved. One of the co-moabilitys they list is PCOS and it cause from being overweight. It can lead to fertility problems as well as diabetes.
  21. Hi Everyone, I just found out Friday that I am being banded on July 19th. I am crazy happy! I have a 2 week pre op diet to do. Today is day 2 of that. Its going okay, not quite as hungry as I imagined it would be. Im drinking 2 Slim Fast Protein Shakes a day. And a high protein/low carb dinner. Consuming the 64 oz of water is tough, I have been subsituting it for Tea with Splenda, and Crystal Lite. I hear the pre op diet is pretty important, so I want to get this right. Ive dieted a big majority of my life, so 2 weeks shouldnt kill me. Im glad to be here, and thrilled to FINALLY have a surgery date.
  22. I have a 35.5 bmi, along with Rhumatoid Arthritus, polycystic ovaries, and some blood pressure issues. I have also, tried phentermine, meridia and weight watchers. I was worried myself because my BMI was right on the border that I wouldnt get it. But my worrys are over....i am so thrilled!

I also have Rheumatoid Arthritus, polysystic ovaries, along with some blood pressure issues. Because of that I am eligible for surgery. I had to get 2 letters of Medical Necessity, and had my phychicatric evaluation on June 18. I was approved yesterday, and my surgery date is set for July 19. I started my pre op diet today. I am so excited, I want to share it with everyone!!!
