  1. I didnt tell anyone but my mom, husband and best friend. I am able to go out and eat with co workers and friends and noone is able to tell that I have a band. I have learned what I can eat and what will make me slime or even be sick and I just work around it. I wasnt going to tell my hubby at first, but the closer it got to my surgery date, the more excited I got and I had to tell him. He was surprisingly very supportive. And now I am able to talk to him about it which is great because since I got my band its all I want to talk about. Good luck with your surgery!!!!Keep us posted!!!
  2. Hey Everyone...Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was good, my mom was diagnosed with Lung Cancer this past January so she wasnt able to do the cooking as she normally does, so my sister and I pitched in and it turned out great...I ended up losing 11 pounds total for the Thanksgiving Challenge. I am now out of the 160's...Seemed like I was 160 something forever...I now weigh 158. Looks like most everyone did great on the challenge. Its starting to seem like my band is getting loose or something, I can eat a lot more then I could. :help: I am sceduled for a fill on Jan 7th. So I guess I will just have to rely on willpower this month more so the usual.
  3. Its getting there for sure...But still have the "fat girl syndrome" I dont know if this feeling will ever go away. But hey I can sure wear a lot cuter clothes and can breathe if I walk to the mailbox so I would say.....YES it feels AWESOME!!!!:whoo:
  4. Awweee....shucks....you know how us girls do it!!!!:clap2:

  6. Hey there ppl. Hope everyone is doing good. I have been so busy at work this week trying to fit 2 days into 5, I havent been able to breathe, much less get on here. I lost 3 lbs this week. So Phyl, -3 more pounds for me.....I seem to weigh the same all week and then on that 7 day, bam WEIGHTLOSS..So I decided this next week I would not get mad at myself on the 6th day. I guess it all comes out in the "wash". Anyway I think I have one more pound to lose by Thanksgiving goal. I would have never thought I would even get this close, so if I dont make it Im okay with that too. In case I dont get back on before Thanksgiving, Everyone have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving...Enjoy your day!!!
  7. Hey Phyl.... Put me down for 3 more lbs for this week..Im down to 162!!! Yayyyy Meeeee
  8. WOW, babygotback...you look FANTASTIC! I can only pray that my body take shape like yours has. Im 165 right now, so I still have about 30 lbs to goal. What kind of excercising are you doing? and how often?
  9. Thanks Indio...I lost my son 12/15/1999. He had just turned 3 yrs old that September. Sometimes it seems like hes been gone forever and sometimes it seems like he was just here yesterday...
  10. Mango....you are toooo funny!!!
  11. Kirajh....I am a huge believer in organ and tissue donations. I lost a son to neuroblastoma cancer when he was three, he had to go thru a bone marrow transplant so I really know the importance of being a donor. I dont think people realize how very important it is..I just donated blood last Saturday. (Saved 3 peoples lives) My son went thru gallons of blood during his battle with cancer. And right now my mother is battling lung cancer and needs donors as well....So HUGE KUDOS on bringing this subject up.....:clap2:
  12. Hey Hey everyone...I think this website has been down all morning, it wouldnt let me on anyway. Well I am down 3 lbs for the TG challenge. It was 5 lbs Saturday, but darn Aunt Flo had to make her visit this morning. Oh well 3 pounds is good too...I am so impressed by the pounds that people are dropping on this TG challenge. I am so glad all of you joined me in it...Phyl you are doing a great job keeping up with it...I am hoping I can meet that 10 lb goal, and then another 10lbs by Christmas. I vow this week not to get on the scaled every single day...I will not get on it again till Sunday...Oh okay, Im lying but Im gonna try....
  13. Indio, yes put me down for two pound week mini goal...Im hitting the gym tonight...This band cant do it all by itself.....

  22. My BMI was a 35.5 (granted I lied 2 inches about my height). But I have rhematoid arthritus, Polycistic Ovaries. I was approved within 2 months. I know I got lucky, because I have seen so many that took much longer or never got approval. If I would have had to pay for it, I know I would have.
  23. The sad part about the story is how true it is. I use to would starve here at work all day just because I didnt wont people to realize that I was fat because I simply eat too much. So 9 hours at work and I would be pretty much starved by the time I got home, only to get home and stuff my face with 2 or sometimes 3 lil debbies. while I cooked a big dinner. This girl I work with weighs about 120 pounds, and was always offering me advise on how to be her size and I would always just want to choke her. Granted, I know if you cut calories and exercise you will lose weight. But for how long? And when I would "cut" calories and exercise I wouldnt lose. The reason: I would pig out at home or in my car when noone was looking. I would get up at 2 am and scarf down a bag of oreos, then wake up at 7 am and the only memory I would have of it would be chocolate on my fingers. So ashamed of it that I would blame the kids for eating the cookies to my DH. Then feel guilty about the entire situation all day, just to go to bed and do the exact same thing again. This band coincides with my willpower. It stops me from "piggin out". My life has changed so much since July. I never feel guilty or ashamed anymore. I actually feel good when I eat. I cant remember how long its been since I felt good about eating.......:hungry:
  24. Actually I lied about my height. I have 5'4 and told them I was 5'2 they didnt ask to measure me. I also wore very heavy clothes for my initial weigh....
  25. Thanksgiving challenge starts now.... 31 days to go..... :clap2: GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!
