  1. I go through this a lot. My surgery is Sept 17th. I have never had surgery for anything. So this is my very first time. My mind is racing a mile a minute. With fear, happiness, scared, elated....etc. So I am just trying to stay positive. I watch/read stories others have written about their surgery and my emotions change. Some stories make me think "this is why you are gettting the surgery" and some that I see make me think "is the surgery really necessary" I keep telling myself yes because i am 30, 5'3, 302lb and i have a family that needs me (husband and 4 children). I would like any and all prayers as i am going through this journey.
  2. I am really praying hard for you as i don't know what to tell you. I have 3 children and have not had my surgery yet. Stuff like this really scares me. I am praying that my surgery goes smoothly as we are to 2 parent working household. I will keep you in my prayers. I can't imagine going to the hospital for so long.... Stay strong and don't give up....
  3. I will be sleeved on Sept 17 I am 30. I am nervous as HELLO! Anyway how was your pain level? How long was your recovery post sleeve? How much are you able to get down now? What type of protein are you drinking?
  4. I really feel like throwing out my tv. It seems like since I started my pre-op diet everything about food has been popping on the screen. Is it just that i want to eat it or am i just seeing things differently? EMOTIONS
  5. I am going through the same thing as you. I too have 3 children and my husband will have to take care of them while i am in the hospital. I am praying that i dont have any complications because i need to be home with my babies. My sister is going to stay with me the 1st night that i am in the hospital. My husband will stay home. I figure i should be good the 2nd night as i wont be on the meds so heavily. I hope!!
  6. Yeah my official day to start my liquid diet is on the 3rd but i am starting tomorrow because I want to get the 2 torture days out of the way.

  12. Okay i got to know since the time is getting so close... how are you feeling? What are you thinking? Are you ready? When does you liquid diet start? What time is your surgery? I'm at 1:00pm. I have butterflies in my stomach and i can not stop researching, watching you tube vids, and waking up/going to sleep thinking about the surgery.
  13. #100 -YOU LOOK AWESOME...You look great, i looked at the before and after pic with your hubby....

  15. Welcome, and good luck on your journey. My surgery day is Sept. 17.
  16. Sept 17th is my day and I am really scared. It went so fast. My doc submitted the paper work on Aug. 22 and I got a call that i was approved on Aug 23. So I am excited/scared at the same time. I am ready for change.
  17. My mom is not the happiest either (she is just worried and has fear). But you should not be worried because you are your biggest supporter. Do what is right for you and pray about you decision. Understand that you are living in your body and you know how you feel. I was feeling like you just last week. The people here are so supportive and will stand by you. The support is huge here so take advantage of it. The people here know exactly what you are going through. Stand strong and stick with your decision.
  18. I start my pre-op diet Sept. 3, my surgery is Sept. 17. This week i told myself that i was going to eat what ever i wanted. Well for some reason i don't want any food it seems that i am disgusted with it.. I hope i feel the same way when i start my liquid diet
  19. I told my mom and sisters and quickly got the judgmental negative comments. However, i decided to keep moving forward because this is something that i need for me. My husband is so so supportive, he is tried of me stressing over my weight. Didn't tell anybody at work because it is none of their business. I am a teacher. My co-teachers(TEACHERS WHO TEACH THE SAME GRADE AS ME) know that i will be off work but i didn't share why. I am not close enough to them to share info like that.
  20. This question has probably been answered. I am starting my liquid diet on Sept. 3. My doctor wants me to go ahead and start my vitamins, so i need to know..... What brand/type of vitamin are you using? I would prefer liquid over the chewable...but would use which ever one taste best.
  21. Good Luck!! I will be looking for the same advice as my surgery day is Sept. 17.
  22. I am so glad that I was able to find this website. Everyone here is so supportive. This is the best I have felt since getting my surgery date. Thank You guys, you have lifted my spirit so much.
  23. I guess I need to start out by saying HELLO!! I am a newbie... Okay so here is my issue.. I have no family support (from my mom, sister, best friend). I am 30, 5'3, 302lbs and I don't have any major health issues yet but i can feel my body starting to get sick. I started the WLS journey in July with my 1st doctor visit and was elated to tell my family the news. Well lets just say i made a really big mistake. They started telling me about all these horrible things about WLS and what has happened to people. I have struggled with my weight all my life, going up and down and up and down, until i just kept going up. I have 3 beautiful children and I am married. My husband supports me(by the way my family is upset with him because he does). My surgery date is set for Sept 17 and the only person who will be at the hospital is my husband because i decided that i was not going to tell my family anything else about the surgery .I can't take anymore negative comments. When i told them of my plans in July they said, and i quote "you are going to die" I mean who says that to someone they love. I guess their comment was out of fear and lack of knowledge. What they said to me has been on my heart since my surgery date is so close. I don't know if i should go through with the surgery now, I am just so confused and scared. Has anyone else dealt with this issue. If so what did you do?
