It's funny how our perception differs from others. I definitely understand how you feel. I was smaller when I was younger, and people would say I look good, ect. I didn't believe it. Stress, ect caused me to gain weight, and now I'm trying to get healthy and learn to love myself like I should be loved. We have to learn to love ourselves. It's nice to see that she gave you motivation to start building your positive attitude. You'll get there.
  2. Thank you. *hugs* back. I'm hoping and praying for the best.
  3. When I say "desirable" I mean physically. I'm cute, and have a great personality. I'm just fat.
  4. I've been watching Once Upon a Time, and they talk alot about true love. I've experienced teenage love, but my boyfriend cheated on me several times. I ended up being a teenage mom also. I've moved away and have been single for about 10yrs. I'm 34 now, and wonder if I'll ever find true love. I'm hoping that once I have the sleeve, I'll lose weight and be more "desirable." Though, I really want someone to love me for me, thick or thin? Where are guys out there like that, if any? Tired of being single.
  5. Anticipation is the title of one of my favorite collections of music by Trey Songz. I am totally anticipating when I will be sleeved. I've posted several times how I have to wait 12mths, and for some reason it seems like time is moving slow. I have some major health issues, and I really need to get this weight off. I'm currently yo yoin back and forth between being concious of what I eat, to just eating what ever. I recently learned that I have a dermoid cyst on my remaining ovary, which puts my goal of having more children in jeopardy. About 4 years ago I have my left ovary removed due to having a large dermoid cyst that went undetected. I vowed to keep an eye on this one, and sure enough, here we go again. My goal was to lose weight, find prince charming, get married, and then we'd have 1 or 2 babies. I currently have a 19yr old son, which I had when I was 15. I have raised him to the best of my ability and for the most part he is a good kid. Peer pressure is a b***h! I think that is what is leading him right now, though I know he has the mind to making his own decisions. Anyway, I have wanted to have a child with a more traditional way, and be able to prepare for the child, decorate a nursery, and just have that joy filled experience that surrounds the adult experience of having a child. Now, that I have this tumor, I am forced to think of other alternatives such as sperm donation. I would have never thought of this happening, but it has. I'm just hoping now I can lose the weight to even do that. I'm so hoping that the tumor does not grow quickly, and that it just remains dormant to give me the opportunity of reaching my goals of losing weight, being healthy, and having a baby. Everyone who reads these words please pray for me. I'm just really nervous, and stressed out about this.
  6. Good luck you guys. You'll do great!
  7. Wow! How do you guys do it? I wanna be like you when I grow up.
  8. LOL. Thanks. If I could do it sooner I would. Trying to look on the bright side.
  9. I wish you much success on everything. I'm in VA and my insurance(Anthem BCBS) requires that I complete their 12mth coaching program and attend a weighloss program. I'm currently doing that. My 12mths will be up in September 2013. I'm hoping that I can also get my surgery scheduled for that time also. So I have 10mths left to go. I look at it as 10mths of planning for success.
  10. I'm looking forward to dating. It has been YEARS. I'm getting older, and would like to be married to the right person for me.
  11. Thanks. Congrats to you also. I didn't initially start out to have the sleeve, but after reading about the success, and how it is a great tool for weight loss, which I need due to several health issues, I decided to do it. I have to wait 10 more months though. My insurance company requires I undergo their 12 mth coaching program. I see it as a plus, because it gives me time to learn how to be successful and use this tool the right way. I wish you much success!
  12. I'd like to know too. I haven't been sleeved yet, but want to learn what I need to do to be successful.
  13. Congratulations. You are definitely an inspiration!
  14. I wonder what you need to do to keep your stomach from stretching or is it unavoidable? I haven't had surgery yet, but trying to learn as much as I can.
  15. I hear you. I'm doing this for me too.
  16. Thank you guys! My sis was trying to do it subtly to me today. She was like well you may lose weight by then and not need the surgery. She just kept coming up with scenarios where I wouldn't need the surgery. My mom, has been more reserved on it, and just go along with what I say. I've gotten mixed reactions. But, I'm going through with it. I need to lose this weight.
  17. I had PTC. My symptoms went away with a spinal tap. I never thought about it being an issue for the sleeve. I think because I didn't have extreme issues with it it won't be a problem.
  18. I've thought about that. The cost will be the issue though. That is a good idea, I'm going to look it up. This just really makes my life more stressful than it already is.
  19. I'm a single mom. I had my son when I was 15, and had a tormultous relationship with his father. Wasted a lot of my life. Now I'm 34, my son is 19, I'm single, and hope to find true love and be married. I also would like to have at least 1 or 2 more children and have the even celebrated. I lost my left ovary due to having a dermoid tumor two years ago. My doc told me on Friday, that I may have a small one growing on my right ovary. I can't have sleeve surgery until next year this time. I've tried losing weight on my own to attract guys but losing weight is a bear as you all know. Once having the surgery I have to wait 12mths to get pregnant. I just have so many stressors right now, I'm afraid of how things are going. I don't want to lose my other ovary and my chances of having any more children. Sometimes I feel like I'm being punished for some things i did when I was younger. Why me???
