I have always been a little thick when younger, but it wasn't until I was 21, got married, and realized that being inactive made me blow up like a balloon. Little did I know that I had a hypo-thyroid lurking within me. I started gaining weight, and no matter what I did, the weight stayed. I finally got pregnant at 23, and then again in 2001. I have only gone up and up from there.
I have wrestled with getting the gastric bypass surgery for years. It wasn't until I met Dr. Maher at VCU that he talked me into the Gastric Sleeve. Since then I have working my booty off to get all my ducks in a row. The sooner I get this surgery, the sooner I get my life back.
