Does everyone fear this? Once installed eating real food after 2 weeks on Clear Liquids post op I gained about a pound and haven't lost any in a week! I've been eating real food for 7 days now... Very upset and scared I WILL be the one that doesn't lose the weight

    Mastiff:
This whole process is difficult, and there are many bumps in the road along the way. I am 14 weeks out and my mind is still focused on food all day long! I'm not sure why I haven't had the "struggles" of wanting sweets, or junk food, but I have still struggled with food being on my mind all the time. I wish I could have larger portions of the foods I can have, and I struggle to find a variety of foods that I can eat that are good for me. On top of that, I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 kiddos ages 4, 2, and 1, so I am cooking and feeding all day long, LOL.
I long for the day when food is not an obsession, or a habit to kick. I know I will get there. This is the beginning of a long road, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I get through each day one day at a time. I think about what led me to where I am, how much I went through just to get this surgery, and all the lives that depend on me to stick around. Those things keep me goingI I know that I will succeed in my journey, and I am already so much happier than I have ever been. I can do things now that I haven't done in years, and there is no food that is worth more than that to me.
Hang in there friend. It will get easier as time goes by. You will see your efforts pay off, and it will motivate you to be strong and make the best choices you can. We are all in this for the long haul!

As far as your weight loss is concerned, I saw my doctor Friday and he told me 12 pounds was all he expected of me at three weeks. And it is normal to stall. I had a 10 day stall from day 15 until day 25. My best friend had the sleeve four years ago and she told me the first month she felt like she was a junkie going through withdrawal. She was a wreck. She got through it by exercising. She lost 80 pounds in six months and looks fantastic. If she can do it, you can too. Just think where you can be in 6 months. Find something to do with your hands. Needlepoint or paint. We believe in you.

Grandbaby here this weekend. I've sort of hurt my incisions lugging her around. Can it damage anything? Two week out on Monday....she's about 23lbs.

I really think that has contributed to my slow weight loss! But be strong!!! You don't really want that food and if you try it it doesn't taste like you remember.I promise!!!

I guess I never made it back Life has been crazy lately.
So I guess I just want to say this. Read Sannah's story (Leak is the thread title I believe). Her heart has been damaged because of complications. Yup she's lost weight, and lost a well functioning heart, her gallbladder may have to be removed and she's still having other issues.
My lungs are damaged which will take years to repair themselves. And as it turns out the leak damaged my stomach tissue so much that I may never get over being able to eat half a cup of food at a time. This means that I will have to take medically approved supplements to my calorie basis or I won't stop losing weight ever. I may never have the capacity to take in a balanced diet.
I didn't die, but was close. I had a full life, socially active, good friends, etc, I was just overweight. For this stupid surgery I nearly threw it all away. My son almost lost his mom. My husband his wife. Half a million in medical bills...no comorbidities, no risk factors, this was to be easy peasy.....I would not do this if you have no other issues. The risks are not worth the reward of wearing smaller jeans. Get off your butt and start moving. Think of what the options are....that's an easy fix in comparison to what others have to go through to live through this surgery.
