  1. Oh my Bless you, your my inspiration. I couldn't hit 120 gr of protein for my life right now unless I drank protein shakes all day. If you don't mind my asking at what point were you told 120 gr was the protein goal? Thanks
  2. I was sleeved the same day 11/8 . I eat pretty much what ever I want but chew chew chew is the key. I mostly eat like others grilled chicken, chicken salad, egg salad, turkey meatballs, turkey Bacon, I've had piece of quesadilla but I can't eat much of the tortilla, normally pick the chicken out of it. I also have Cereal in the mornings now sometimes but I let it get super soggy its the special k Protein Yummers! For me its trial and error at this point and let me tell ya my sleeve let's me know when its not happy. I still do Protein shakes to hit 60gr of protein, and as the days pass I get better at getting all my fluids in.

  4. I am still new to all of this (have a lot of learning to do) so I am sure I may be racking up somewhere else like carbs or calories and I shouldnt be, it was mostly the Snacks and today was my first day trying them but they are super high in calories and carbs so I think they may be an every other week snack lol. I am going to try adding cottage cheese, eggs, yougart...and see if I can reach at least 60gr again as these are foods that I also eat but haven't been logging everything in everyday (Shame on me). 5. I was using one of the Centrum chewables for a while but just made me feel sick so I switched to gummies, we'll see in another month when I get my blood work done how these Vitamins are doing lol As others posted its gummies or nothing at this point.
  6. I am so happy to know that it is possible to meet Protein intake without shakes or drinks. I hit 63gr today normally I will drink 2 shakes a day for the 60gr and any protein from food was a bonus. Sorry just had to share with others that would understand, my boyfriend just looked at me with a blank face like I was a nut when I got excited over this. The last time I got this excited was when I realized I had a collar bone ( My first NSV) Happy New Year everyone!!! ( I know I am a little early)
  7. A Small goal is to do a make over - New hair do for the new me when I hit 200lbs (This will be 82lbs down since surgery and 103 down since highest weight) Currently 252lbs When it hit goal and maintain to have plastics done if needed for extra skin and tightening and lifing of course if needed Last but not least when I have a nice flat tummy I want to finally get a side/rib tattoo along with buying a Bikni and to rock it at the beach - I am a jersey girl - gotta love the beach!
  8. This is actually a concern of mine so I only take my BP pill one time a day instead of 3 times .. I know this may not be good but I am feeling ok with once a day, if I get a headache or see the stars then I take another.
  9. Highest weight: 303 lbs Surgery weight: 282 lbs (11-8-12) Current weight: 252 lbs Goal Weight for Valentine's Day: 230 lbs Good Luck everyone!!
  10. I would do it again although in the beginning it is tough I will be 2 months out on the 8th and still learning how to work with my new friend even though it does get frustrating at times I would do it again in a heartbeat!
  11. Very pretty!! Congrats on the weight loss! I love the eye makeup too! Wish I could do mine like that
  12. Not saying this is the best thing but if you really really feel the need for it, could you kinda take a swig swish it around and spit it out so that your tummy doesn't feel it? I mean it is a waste to do it that way but at the same time you may realize that you really do not need the soda that much. I have done the above with a few foods and I just didn't like the spitting it out and I decided just to eat what I am able to (the healthy foods) and not the junk that got me into this mess in the first place even though I love my brownies lol I would personally stay strong and stay away from it
  13. It takes time to see the difference. If the scale doesn't move more then likely your losing the inches. I noticed after a while my clothes started fitting differently although I still see the big girl when I look in the mirror I have been with her for over 20 yrs so it is a work in progress to get my head around the fact that I am no longer Her but a more healthier me. One thing to remember is the weight didn't come on over night nor will it go away that way. Just stick to your doctors instructions and you will do fine, just take baby steps.. one day at a time is the best way
  14. I wish I could drink a half an hour after I eat.. I have to wait at least 45 mins to an hour otherwise my sleeve gets mad at me lol I was also told the no drinking 30 mins before or after.
  15. I would try some Pedialyte pops just to make sure you do not get dehydrated, they were my saving grace.
  16. I drink from a blender cup that has the ounces on the side of the bottle. One thing that I do because I can't stand tiny sips is I will take a big swig then slowly swallow it lol
  17. Have you tried taking Biotin and are you getting in enough protein? I am still a newbie to this only 6 weeks out but have heard Biotin helps with the hairloss so I take one every day.
  18. Are you getting in your Protein and lots of fluids? I try to hit at least 60g of protein and I try for my 64oz of fluids but I can't always hit that mark also I know lots of people talk about calories too I am around 600-700 a day. ( I know everyone's doc and post op instructions are different) Also for the bathroom problem you can use Milk of Magnesia it helps me within a few hours. Just as of the past 2 weeks I have needed to use this 2 times I am going to need to up my Fiber intake or something to help so I do not rely on "MOM".
  19. I turn mine into a frappuccino type. I use a tsp of caffeine free instant coffee, 8oz of lactose free/ fat free/skim milk, 1 scoop of Vanilla unjury Protein powder and some ice. Blend it up and yummy!! I also use chocolate unjury sometimes instead of vanilla. Or sometimes I just turn it into hot cocoa by warming up milk and a scoop of chocolate unjury protein
  20. That is awesome, I think you are doing great! Congrats on the loss! Just remember everyone loses at a different pace, do not compare yourself to anyone else or get disappointed if your loss isn't moving as fast as theirs @ 5 weeks out I was down 25lbs from surgery
  21. I had it bad for quiet a few days after surgery. Make sure your not drinking right before you lay down. It eventually went away for me. My pcp placed me on Nexium though to help with the acid since I was still early on she wanted me on it for a month. Are you taking anything for the reflux?
  22. Hi All, I was looking into a Medical bracelet and this is what my Dr. had said. A blind nasograstric tube can maybe harm a small pouch in a gastric Bypass, since you have a VSG a NSG tube will pass and maybe stay long enough before it can harm you (you have a 3 line stapling and a prolene suture above the staples, so the tube wont penetrate your sleeve it would stay but wont fit al the tube long). NSAID's can be a NO NO after the surgery, they cause gastric irritation and discomfort, they wont put you in any danger if an emergency would appear, neither the aspirin, you will need to take them for some time to really cause you the trouble, if you have an inflammatory process or some articular pain, a couple of days of ibuprofen wont kill you if you take the measures needed, like taking prilosec before administrating the pill or just taking the pill followed by some ingestion of food. I still think a bracelet noting I had VSG would be a good idea, just not sure the rest is needed. Like the above poster noted, its personal preference. Just thought I'd share
  23. Have you been taking in enough fluids? I find that happens to me when I do not drink enough. It had gotten to the point one time I was going to go to the ER but after having some pedialyte and Powerade after a an hour or 2 I was feeling better. If it continues to happen to you I would call your doc or goto the ER just to ensure it is nothing serious. Hope you feel better!
  24. I also had my phone on airplane mode because of high rates. I made calls before crossing the border then everything was email until the hospital (Mi Doctor) we were able to use the phone there.
