  1. Thank you!!! I am so excitied and as slow as the time seems to be ticking I know I will be on the plane before I know it
  2. I know it can be tough at first but just try not to think about it and it will fly by! I am on 3 weeks of liquid and I am just happy I have avoided the headache that comes from no food sometimes Best of luck to you!!
  3. How strict is your diet? Have you tried protien shakes? Or even maybe like a powerade drink? or even Jello ( i know some allow this)
  4. I am with you on this, I do not own any bras with out underwires and I also work from home so I hardly wear bras at all unless going out lol I love it when I can find others that can relate I am also packing a little pillow as I heard it helps to place inbetween the seatbelt and the tummy on the way home.
  5. I am on day 2 of my liquid diet, my surgery date is Nov 8th as well but will be arriving in Mexico Nov 7th That is great that you are down a nice bit and off of medication!!! WTG!!!
  6. Oh my! I am so sorry to hear that she is going through this, I am scheduled with Dr.Garcia in Nov. I hope she feels better soon and I am sending prayers her way!
  7. I have only heard great things, I am also a few weeks out before surgery but I stocked up! lol
  8. Thank you! I think we will just be missing each other, but best of luck to you! and I will see you on the losers bench
  9. I love it!! A lot of Scorpios getting sleeved! My bday is the 29th of this month and I am going to Mexico on the 7th to be sleeved by Dr.Garcia. I am starting my pre-op diet though Monday Oct 15th, even though the Dr mentions only 2 weeks
  10. Hi Everyone, My name is Gina from NJ and I will be heading into Mexico on Nov 7th. I too have a countdown on my phone and just so excited to start this new beginning. I chose the date because it is after my birthday (Oct 29th) and I can say that being 31 is going to rock as is every year there after! I also purchased a timeshare and I am just ready to be healthy, start vacationing and living my life. I did not vacation much before because being "fat" and a beach for me did not work nor going to amusement parks because I did not want the embarassement of not fitting on a ride. I am also looking forward to hopefully being able to conceive a child since I have not been able to thus far. I think I am prepared for my journey to begin, I have stocked up on Unjury protien, some Isopure protien drinks and also a blender thingy to puree my foods when I get to that stage. I should be set for a little bit after I get home from surgery. Lets count down them days my fellow November Sleevers!!!
  11. Thank you everyone, I decided to call the airline and set up for a wheel chair for the return flight just in case. I also found out there is a line when going through security for people with diablities which is good for me, I have a bad back (herniated disks) and bad knees (had arthroscopic surgery on both) so I can not stand too long without being in pain so I am glad I called in and found out this little bonus, a shorter line or being moved to the front of the line
  12. Hi All, I just have a few questions, if anyone can shed some light I would greatly appreciate it. Did you request wheelchair help? Did you board before others? Did you feel sick or get sick at all on the plane? I am trying to be as prepared as I can be so I was curious about the above or anything else that may help. Thanks again to all of my VSG family for always offering their opinions and advice it is much appreicated.
  13. Hi All, I didn't want to start a new thread but I am so much more excited now then when I originally made the post. I say this because now I have my plane tickets, my passport and by the photo below I should be all set with protien for a little while I know this months is going to fly by, I have so many count downs which help! 10/12 - Going to the Movies 10/13 - Having an early birthday lunch with my father ( since I will be on pre-op diet on my birthday) 10/18 - Going to visit mom and play some bingo my early birthday celebration lol 10/29 - My birthday 11/2 - Mike Epps comedy show 11/3 - Headed to LA 11/5 - Headed to San Diego 11/7 - Headed to Tijuana Just wanted to share my excitment since I know ya'll can relate.
  14. No problem, if you ever need anything to vent ask questions you can reach out to me. I haven't been sleeved yet but have been looking around a lot and doing a lot of searching so I am willing to help if I can. It is unfortunate how some people just will not be happy for the new you, it is a shame but at the same time hey, that is 'extra weight" that you no longer have to carry around You know, honestly no one can make this choice for you it is something only you can do. We can offer you our opinions, advice and just share our experiences to help you see all sides. Anyway you look at it we are here to help support you ( I love this board , just like a big family)
  15. I am glad to hear it went well And thanks for the info I had no idea about the swedish studies. Just keep with it girl and when the time comes you'll know what you need to do for you. I say keep researching , asking questions so that you are prepared should you go through with it.
  16. Hi Nicci, How did it go today?
  17. I think it may be the stress of the surgery on your body, it should straighten out soon though.
  18. I will peak around and buy something, I owe my mother some tupperware from when I was younger and I gave it away with halloween candy lol. I send prayers to your friend and hope she gets better. My mother is a surrivor of Breast and Cervical cancer so I totally understand what she is going through as well as you. Kudos to you for being a super great friend!!
  19. Booked my flight last week, now just oh so impatiently awaiting the arrival of my passport lol
  20. That is awesome!!! I can't wait to use a normal bath towel opposed to the bath sheet lol Congrats!!
  21. Yay!! I am excited for you the 15th is not far away at all! Please post on your progress once your able too. Yeah the $4700 is a special that Dr.Garcia has been running. Best of luck to you!!
  22. I would ask a coordinator if you are working with one in regards to your belongings. As far as cash I have read in numerous places to just take small denominations of US dollars, no converting (Just make sure your aware of the conversion rate though just for your own knowledge) I was thinking of taking $100 with me and just in case taking a prepaid credit card with a little extra just as a backup. Best of luck to you!!!
  23. I would ask about it now just incase there is something you may need to bring with you that they don't have such as non-latex items ( I don't see that happening but I always take precautions when I can).
