At 2 months post-op, this is what my typical day is like.
    Breakfast options:
1 single serving non-fat greek yogurt with about 1/4 cup fruit, some Torani sugar free Syrup, a sprinkle of Eggface's Protein granola or some sliced almonds.
4 of Eggface's "bites" (I make them with turkey sausage and shredded apple for breakfast)
1 scrambled egg with a healthy spoon of Jimmy Dean turkey sausage crumbles, sometimes wrapped in a mission low carb whole wheat tortilla (I can't eat it all if I wrap it in the tortilla)

    lunch:
tuna salad, chicken salad, turkey ham salad, etc made with olive oil mayo and crunchy veggies (usually about 1/3 cup), with cucumber slices
    leftovers from dinner
"lettuce wrap" made with 2 slices of lunch meat, 1 slice of sargento thin sliced cheese, wrapped in lettuce leaf. Usually dipped in home guacamole. I buy the 100 calorie packs from Wholly guacamole.

    dinner suggestions:
crock pot salsa chicken- cook a couple of chicken breasts with about 1/2 cup salsa and then shred the meat. I make it into "tacos" by adding some shredded lettuce, veggies, etc. Eat in a lettuce wrap or in a low carb tortilla. This always leaves plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day
grilled fish, chicken breast or turkey burger (I use my George Forman grill) and make sure they stay moist!
turkey meat balls with a little sugar free spaghetti sauce and veggies such as zucchini, mushrooms, black olives, etc
    veggies:
    well cooked cauliflower
    squash
    zucchini
    green Beans
sweet potato (not often, it's a treat)
    mushrooms
    onions
    lettuce
    cucumber slices

    Snacks
yogurt (if I didn't have it for breakfast)
apple slices (no skin), sliced super thin with sugar free almond butter or string cheese
    hard boiled egg
    Eggface's "bites"
turkey meatballs with a smear of barbeque sauce
    lower fat cheese

Good luck! If you haven't found it yet, go to www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com. She is a Gastric Bypass patient but the recipes all work for us too! Wonderful ideas, even for early post-ops.

lol... you really must have had free time!
I had 1/2 a hamburger patty, a bite of pinto Beans and 5 kettle style bbq chips for dinner last night. That was a "holiday" meal. I thought I was being pretty reasonable but now you have me all paranoid.
I guess comparing to to a pre-sleeve meal it was good. Pre-sleeve would have been a cheeseburger, a huge serving of baked Beans and a ton of chips to top it off... and of course a diet dr pepper to wash it all down.

I'm thinner now than I've ever been since me and my hubby got together. And it's so much better and easier already and I cannot WAIT to see how much better it gets as I lose more weight!!!!
Hubby says I am wearing him out and he is now convinced he needs to lose weight to keep up with me. He has about 40 pounds to lose and has started going to the gym to workout with me. I'm hoping we're bragging soon!!!
Thanks for being brave and posting your experiences!

Robyn Owens-Miille got a reaction from SheWins1 in Why low carb?
I'm 6 months out. My diet is to be approximately 1000 calories a day, 80 grams of Protein a day and about 60 grams of carbs. That's a lot of carbs to me but they come from the RIGHT carbs. For me that means nothing white (Pasta, rice potatoes, etc). I get my carbs from dairy produts, low starch vegetables and whole grain Pasta, bread, etc.
You know all the reasons why early on... no room for anything but Protein, low carb speeds weight loss, some carbs trigger cravings, etc. As you add carbs, focus on adding in the right carbs.

I have been moving toward a vegetarian lifestyle. Not ready to fully give up meat yet but definitely want a cleaner, less-processed food lifestyle. Well, until I got my labs back and my doctor told me that I absolutely HAD to keep eating meat. My ferritin level came back at 4. Any lower and I have to have Iron infusions. My B12 is on the low side and d3 is very low.
I've been eating meat but incorporating other sources of Protein the last few months- Beans, quinoa, amaranth, tvp, etc. I feel I am eating healthier than I ever have. I don't want to supplement with oral iron (I am so freaking constipated from it!).
Why is my iron so low? I'm wondering if I don't absorb it for some reason. Can I continue to move toward a vegetarian lifestyle and have healthy iron stores? Do any of you struggle? I'm almost 11 months post-op. Any advice is appreciated.

I'll take my gamble on loss of ghrelin over all the side effects of being super morbidly obese, having high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and diabetes.

Robyn Owens-Miille got a reaction from TD41 in My husband is an ass
My husband tried so hard to not eat in front of me. He and the kids would eat in another room so I wouldn't be confronted by the smells and sights. I ended up feeling so awkward that I blew up at him. He really thought he was being helpful. He felt bad for making me feel bad. But then, he ate popcorn in the same room with me and I cried because i couldn't eat it (I was about 2 weeks post-op).
It's just one of those times in a marriage where you have to be really committed to each other. Sometimes no matter what you do it isn't right. This is an especially hard time for any couple.

I have not tried the voltaren gel. I will talk to my PCP about it.
My surgeon strongly encourage me to NOT do any knee surgery prior to one year post-op. He said it's a major killer for weight loss. I'm just focusing on walking right now. My goal is at least 45 minutes a day.
I think right now, I'm just taking it easy- trying to be reasonable. The family had chicken and dumplings last night. I had chicken stew (1 chicken breast, 1/2 can green Beans, 1 cup butternut squash cubes, 4 baby carrots and 1/2 potato, chicken broth.) I really wanted the chicken and dumplings but I only had the one bite to taste seasoning before I served it and that was just the broth.
Hopefully I can just keep being reasonable with my food and walking and not get set back until I can get my head back wrapped around weight loss.
I did hop on the scale yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that I had lost 2 pounds. Maybe I can do the "reasonable" life style now that I never could do before.

Thanks ladies. I'm just in a rut. Plus, my family really doesn't eat much of what I do these days and it's getting frustrating.

Today, I was officially booted out of Lane Bryant lol. They were having the bra sale. I asked the saleswoman if she could measure me. She said wow you need to shop somewhere else , we don't carry your size.
It was a great feeling. But Victoria Secrets is too expensive ...

Do NOT let them scare you. You need to make an informed decision that is right for you. Remember, most people who have a normal, successful post-op period don't post about it.
