My Month 11 Update - Down Nearly 125#
Wow. You look fantastic!! I understand the dismorphia stuff...I lost a ton of weight a few years ago (pre-sleeve/gained it all back) and I always felt fat even at my lowest. This time around I have already lost 50+ pounds and I can hardly tell. Our minds really do play tricks on us. Congrats on your transformation. You really look great

July Sleevers----Where Ya At? :-)
sleeved July 6th. I'm losing a ton of hair now. It's visibly much thinner on the top at the part. A little unnerving. I'd still do the surgery in a heartbeat though.

Whoa! They Removed Our Tickers...
I was also irritated with it. As you can see, I went ahead and created one here, but it was very convenient to only have to update my numbers in one place and have it automatically update elsewhere. It would have been nice to have some warning. The reason I used MFP's ticker is that it is much more user friendly.

Waxing...down There.
Out of curiosity for the ladies that do this, how often do you go? Is there a difference when the hair starts growing back as compared to shaving?

Would You Get The Sleeve Again? If So, Why? If No, Why? Would You Change Anything?
I reached my half way point today and I am sooo happy with my sleeve!! One thing you need to realize is that the first couple of months after the surgery are not easy. Even if everything goes without a hitch and you don't have a single complication, the beginning is very challenging. As long as you have realistic expectations about this you will be fine. When someone says they regret the surgery, you want to find out how far out they are. If they are less than three months out, they are still in the rough patch so their perspective is not the same as someone who is further out from surgery. That being said, there are always risks. Poor iggychic is an example of how bad it can be. I definitely would not have wanted to go through half of what she has had to endure throughout this process. Either way, we are all here for you..good, bad, and ugly!!

Sometimes I Hate Food :(
How far out are you? I felt that way for the first couple of months, but now I'm happy again. I can eat a little more than I could early out (still not much) and I've learned my limit so that I don't stuff myself and become uncomfortable. I think time makes a big difference. Hang in there!

Half Way To Goal!
As of my weigh-in this morning, I am officially half way to my goal. I'm so excited. I am 4 and a half months out. Love my sleeve!!

Do I Really Need To Have Someone Come With Me?
I did mine alone and was completely fine!

A Bit Worried... Probably Nothing, But...
your sugar might be low. Try drinking a little diluted juice and see if that helps.

Crazy Stomach Noises
I actually have a fair amount of anxiety eating in public settings because of this. You really can't control when or where or how loud your tummy decides to gurgle. It's really embarrassing.

Crazy Stomach Noises
mine still does the grumbles and gurgles all the time. it's worse if I eat too fast, too much, or mix solids and liquids.

Early Stall
I stalled at two weeks and several times since. stalls are a normal part of the process. don't get frustrated.

$ For Protein Shakes Etc?
Honestly, I haven't really kept close track of what it's cost me in actual dollars for protein powder/vitamins etc...but I can say that the money you save on food will pay for your supplement needs.

2# A Week?
Yes, that would be a good loss. I'm only losing about a pound a week at this point...

My Daughter Will Miss My Belly But Wants To Keep Me Longer
aww, that's sweet. She'll still be able to hug that belly as it's melting away so it won't be as traumatic for her as it would be if your belly suddenly vanished in a day. When you get to goal weight she'll be loving the new energetic you and she'll love how she can wrap her arms around you. It is wonderful to hear of an engaged father raising his children. They are lucky to have you.

Alone Before Surgery...
I did my entire surgery; before/during/after/post-op care/etc. completely alone. I was fine. You will be completely fine until your hubby comes around.

Offical Weight...
They weighed me the morning of my surgery so I think it depends on your surgeon.

Skinny Women Are Evil
That's awful. I probably would have laughed in stride at the comment and then snuck away to my office for a private cry, but that's just me. I do want to say though that the title of this thread and some of the comments bother me. I know you are just letting off steam, and I know that you don't mean all skinny women are evil, but it's strong language and it's quite a generalization none the less. If you replace the word skinny in the post to the word fat, black, homosexual, short etc...you see how awful the title is. Skinny women shouldn't be stereotyped any more than us fatties should be.

Mfp
under quick calories I usually add 50 cals a day to cover my vitamins and/or slight miscalculations of portions.

Depressed, I Need Your Support
Losing weight reeks havoc on your hormones. Right now your body is being flooded by them. This is probably why you always feel this way when you start losing weight. Part of it is psychological because there was likely something behind your weight gain in the first place. It would be a good idea to try to get to the bottom of what that is if you don't know already. The other part is physical because of all the changes going on in your body. So feeling down is completely natural. Overtime, you will start to regulate on your own. If you don't, I highly recommend you talk to a professional about it. Hang in there!

The Stuck Feeling In Your Chest
I agree with all the above posts. Also, it will get better. I had that feeling A LOT for the first couple of months, but now I don't have any issues.
