Port Left In :(
I would still contact the surgeon. They should pay for the removal AND the cost of the plane ticket to get it done. Or better yet, demand they pay for you to have it removed locally. I'm not sure how easy that will be since you are dealing with Mexico, but tell them if they don't pay for it, you will make it known to the world about their error. Tell them you're on these forums. They know a lot of people get their referrals from these forums and I would think they wouldn't want their reputation smeared all over the boards. Just a thought. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this!

Also, I'm SO SORRY that happened to you. I can only imagine how upset you are about it

Port Left In :(
In my opinion, it sounds like an error. The port is part of the lap band, in that you wouldn't have it if you didn't have the band. Therefore, it should have been removed with the band. I'm thinking it was an oversight. I would call the surgeon and tell them they need to have it removed at their expense. You already paid for the revision so you shouldn't have to pay for an additional surgery.

Where Do I Fit In?
I'm so sorry that happened to you. I know you must be so disappointed. Hang in there, six months isn't as long as you think. xoxo.

Last 4Th Of July
Yeah, I'm on the clear liquid diet too so no BBQ for me. But I'm getting sleeved on Friday and it's totally worth it!!

Gum?
Why do they say we can never chew gum again? Is it because of the fear of swallowing it and it clogging up the sleeve or is it some other reason? Can I really not have it after my sleeve?

Telling People - Or Not
Anyone out there been sleeved without telling anyone? Do people look at you weird when you only take two bites of a meal and are done? Perhaps I'll change my mind, but right now I don't plan on telling a whole lot of people, but I'm worried about social gatherings and whether people will realize that somethings up. Your thoughts?

Really Struggling To Stop Smoking!
Oh man, I feel for you. I remember when I was quitting smoking it was SO HARD! People kept telling me that it's out of your system in three days. Like that's supposed to make it easier! It unbelievably difficult for the first three weeks. Seriously didn't know if I'd make it or not. Somewhere in the fourth week it started to ease up a bit, so hang in there!!! That's not to say that it suddenly got easier, because it didn't. It slowly slowly started taking up less space in my obsessive mind. I'm not gonna lie to you, I still get cravings once in awhile, but they are NOTHING like they were in the beginning. You CAN do this. Just keep fighting. Never give up!

Trouble With Vitamins
Are they pills or gummies? Pill form vitamins always make me throw up and I'm not even sleeved yet. You might want to try gummy vitamins or liquid vitamins and see if you have a better reaction.

Stressful Day...and I Turned To Food
So you made some choices you wish you hadn't made. You can decide right now to turn around and start over. We've all been there. That's why we're getting sleeved...our own motivation lacks at times, and we need a powerful tool to help us. That's what the sleeve will do. Don't beat yourself up. You're human. And you are on an amazing journey. Just commit to restarting from here. You're doing great!!

What Are You Looking Forward To?
I'm looking forward to not having the steering wheel rub up against my stomach when I'm driving because my belly is too big and my legs are too short to make driving possible otherwise. I'm looking forward to going out to a restaurant and not worrying if I'll fit in the seat or the booth. Oh, and to have the towel fit all the way around me. To not have my feet hurt after standing for only five minutes. To not get winded walking up a flight of stairs. To not always be the biggest one in the room. To maybe, possibly find someone to settle down with and live this blessed life with!

This Friday, July 6Th Is The Day!
I'm getting sleeved on July 6th. I'm super freaked out and really excited all at the same time. Any other pre-opers out there getting sleeved on the 6th with me? By the way, I'm over this clear liquid diet already, not looking forward to several more weeks of it. lol!

Getting Sleeved Friday July 6Th
I'm getting sleeved on July 6th also! I am also excited and nervous. I know it's the right decision for me, but it's also nerve racking to think we'll never be able to go back to the way we were before (which is probably a good thing). I'm most worried about how social gatherings will go. I'm part of a group that eats together every week and I haven't told any of them about the surgery yet so...

So Glad I Found This Site!
Wow. You must have been so disappointed to wake up and find out it had not been done. Personally, I've chosen to go with the sleeve because it tends to have less complications and also because I was concerned about the malabsorption with the bypass. I am being sleeved on July 6th so we'll be doing this journey together!! Good luck!

Surgery During Your Period?

Surgery During Your Period?
So I'm scheduled to be sleeved on Friday. And judging by the signs my body is giving me, it looks like I'm going to be on my period during the surgery. Yuck! I'm really freaked out about this. I'm sleeving in Mexico so the plane tickets are bought and the procedure is all paid for already and can't be refunded so rescheduling is not an option. What do I do?
